창의적 사고기법을 통한 표현력 향상에 관한 연구

Abstract

We live in an era of globalization and information-oriented society with such complexity. The advent of a new age requires us to create and apply new knowledge and demands diversity and insight rather than standardized mind-set. Therefore, the basic direction of The 7th national curriculum has been established towards self-control and creativity of human being. For a proper creativity education in art study, it is needed to offer students experience liberal way of thinking and emphasize on building up abilities to solve problems in a creative way. Brain Storming, one of the key methods in enhancing creativity, encourages to generate a large number of ideas spontaneously rather than in order. This method has its advantage in helping to improve creative expression by generating diverse way of thinking which the current era is in demand. In this research, two groups of 6th grade elementary students were monitored with each different method of lesson. One that applied brainstorming method and the other without it. This research has its purpose to demonstrate how different results they showed in creative expression and how much the brainstorming method was effective as a mean to break away from stereotypes and develop creative thinking. In order to reach the goal of this research, 30 students in control group and 29 students in experimental group were put into lessons of traditional method and brainstorming method individually for six times in total among 6th grade students at K elementary school, located in Seoul Kangseogu. For evaluation of creative expression, Kim Seoung Dong's adumbrative evaluation tool for elementary art and accomplishment criteria in 2001 was referred to analyze creative expression skills and SPSS v. 12.0 package program was used to draw the conclusion. The results, after collecting students' creative expression evaluation outcome from the experiment on both lessons, are as follows. First, experimental group with brainstorming method showed better creativity in all aspects in composing the subject expression. Second, experimental group with brainstorming method showed better creativity in all aspects in composing the expression method. Third, experimental group with brainstorming method showed better creativity in all aspects in composing formative element and principle. Fourth, experimental group with brainstorming method showed better creativity in all aspects in composing expressional materials and tools. In conclusion, this research showed that the brainstorming method has given a positive effect on 6th grade students' creative expression. Therefore, by studying the effects of design lessons using brainstorming method, this research has its meaning of being the first step to address the need to expand the use of this method in elementary arts education. With this conclusion, the following is suggested. By developing various programs using brainstorming method and applying to education field, it is necessary for learners to have opportunities to develop creative expression which modern era is in need.;다양하고 복잡한 현대사회는 세계화, 정보화 시대이다. 새 시대의 도래는 새로운 지식을 창출하고 적용해 나갈 것을 요구하며 획일적 사고보다는 다양성과 통찰력을 요구하고 있다. 이러한 사회적 요구에 따라 창의성 교육은 과거 어느 때 보다 도 강조되고 있으며, 이에 따라 제 7차 교육과정에서도 그 기본 방향으로 자율성과 창의성에 중점을 둔 인간상을 설정하였다. 미술 교과에 있어서 창의성 교육은 학생들로 하여금 자유로운 사고를 경험하게 하는 과정을 느끼게 하고, 문제 상황에 대해 창의적으로 해결 할 수 있는 능력을 신장 시켜야 함을 강조한다. 이러한 방법 중 하나로서 브레인 스토밍(Brain Storming)기법은 창의적인 구상능력을 기를 수 있도록 한다. 일상적인 사고의 순서대로가 아니라 제멋대로 거침없이 생각하도록 격려하고 좀 더 다양하고 폭넓은 사고를 통하여 새롭고 우수한 아이디어를 얻는 방법이다. 현 시대가 요구하고 있는 합리적이고 자유로운 사고과정을 통해 주어진 과제에 대해 창의적으로 해결 할 수 있는 능력을 기를 수 있는 방법의 하나로서 브레인 스토밍 기법은, 다양한 형태의 발상을 도움으로써 창의적 표현력을 향상시키는데 도울 수 있는 장점을 지닌다. 이에 따라 본 연구에서는 주어진 문제를 여러 각도에서 관찰하고 고정관념을 탈피해 창의적 사고능력을 기르기 위한 방법의 하나로 브레인 스토밍 기법을 적용한 디자인 수업을 초등학교 6학년 학생들에게 실시한 후 브레인 스토밍 기법을 거친 실험집단의 수업이 그렇지 않은 통제집단에 비해 창의적 표현력에 있어 어느 정도로 표현력의 차이가 있는지 알아보는데 그 목적이 있다. 이러한 목적을 달성하기 위해 브레인 스토밍 기법을 활용한 디자인 수업과 전통적인 방법의 수업을 서울 강서구에 위치한 K초등학교 6학년 59명을 대상으로 실험집단 29명 통제집단 30명으로 구성한 후 총 6차 시에 걸쳐 실시하였다. 창의적 표현력 평가도구는 김성동(2001)의 초등학교 미술과 성취기준 예시 평가도구를 참고로 하여 창의적 표현력 평가도구를 통해 분석하고, SPSS v. 12.0 통계 패키지 프로그램을 활용하여 결론을 도출 하였다. 본 연구에서 얻어진 전통적인 디자인 수업과 브레인 스토밍 기법을 활용한 수업을 통해 학습한 초등학생의 창의적 표현력을 평가한 결과들을 종합하여 다음과 같은 결론을 도출 하였다. 첫째, 브레인 스토밍 기법을 활용한 디자인수업을 받은 학생들이 주제표현을 구성하는 모든 창의성의 요소에서 더 우수한 평가를 받은 것으로 나타났다. 둘째, 브레인 스토밍 기법을 활용한 디자인수업을 받은 학생들이 표현방법을 구성하는 모든 창의성의 요소에서 더 우수한 평가를 받은 것으로 나타났다. 셋째, 브레인 스토밍 기법을 활용한 디자인수업을 받은 학생들이 조형요소와 원리를 구성하는 모든 창의성의 요소에서 더 우수한 평가를 받은 것으로 나타났다. 넷째, 브레인 스토밍 기법을 활용한 디자인수업을 받은 학생들이 표현 재료와 용구를 구성하는 모든 창의성의 요소에서 더 우수한 평가를 받은 것으로 나타났다. 결론적으로 브레인 스토밍 기법을 활용한 디자인 수업이 초등학교 6학년 학생의 창의적 표현력에 긍정적인 영향을 미쳤다고 할 수 있다. 이처럼 본 연구는 브레인 스토밍 기법을 활용한 디자인 수업이 창의적 표현력에 미치는 영향을 알아봄으로써 초등 미술 교육 현장에서 브레인 스토밍 기법의 활용 범위를 확장시키기 위한 기초 자료로서의 의의를 찾을 수 있다. 이와 같은 결론으로부터 다음과 같이 제언하고자 한다. 브레인 스토밍 기법을 활용한 다양한 프로그램의 개발과 함께, 교육현장의 적용을 통하여 오늘날 우리 시대에서 요구하고 있는 창의적 표현력을 향상시키기 위한 교육적 기회를 제공해야 할 것이다.
