Abstract

루드비히 반 베토벤 (Ludwig van Beethoven, 1770~1827)은 서양음악사의 고전주의시대 말기에서 낭만주의로 가는 길목에 서 있었던 작곡가로서 하이든(J. Haydn)이나 모차르트(W. A. Mozart)가 확립한 고전주의의 대표적인 정형화된 음악형식에 다양한 개성표현을 더해 자신만의 고유의 음악으로 발전시켜 낭만주의의 세계로 이끄는데 큰 역할을 한 음악가이다. <베토벤 바이올린 소나타 제5번(Violin Sonata No.5 in F Major Op.24)>은 1801년에 완성된 곡으로, 이는 베토벤의 시기를 크게 3기로 구분했을 때 1기에서 2기로 넘어가는 과정에 해당한다. 이 곡은 고전적 양식을 바탕으로 하고 있지만 독창적이고 강한 베토벤만의 개성이 두드러지기 시작한 2기에 완성된 곡답게 예술적으로 볼 때, 보다 자유롭고 서정미를 가득 느낄 수 있는 작품이다. 전반적인 베토벤의 소나타가 어둡고 강한 느낌인데 반해 이 곡은 밝고 부드러운 선율이 따뜻한 봄을 닮았다 하여 후대의 사람들이 ‘spring’이라는 애칭을 붙여주기도 하였다. 본 논문에서는 베토벤의 전반적인 작품에 대한 이해를 돕기 위해 그의 생애에 대한 연구와 더불어 베토벤 바이올린 소나타 전곡의 특징을 간단히 살펴보고, 본 논문의 주제인 베토벤 바이올린 소나타 제5번의 형식구조와 분석, 음악적인 특징을 구체적으로 연구하려고 한다.;Ludwig van Beethoven (1770~1827) was at crossroad of change between the late Classical period and the beginning of the Romantic period in the history of western music. He added a variety of his idiosyncratic expressions to the standardized musical formulas, the characteristics of the Classical era, which were established by J. Haydn and W. A. Mozart, and then developed his own music. By doing this, he as a musician played a major role in opening the new era of the Romanticism. Beethoven's Violin Sonata No. 5 in F Major, Op.24. was completed in 1801, which was in process of moving from his first period to his second period when his music career is devide into three periods. From an artistic standpoint, the art piece shows a greater sense of freedom and lyricism as composed in his second period representing creativity and strong individuality of his own although it was based on the Classical style. In contrast to somberness and strength generally felt in his sonatas, this art work was nicknamed 'Spring' by posterity for its bright and soft melody reminded people of the warmth of spring. First of all, the characteristics of all his violin sonatas will be briefly examined along with the study of his life for better understanding of Beethoven's art pieces in general. Then this study attempts to investigate the musical structures and features in Beethoven's Violin Sonata No. 5 in detail.
