공간도형 학습을 위한 VR 기반 게임 설계 및 구현

Abstract

Virtual reality (VR) is a technology which allows a user to interact with a computer-simulated environment, be it a real or imagined one. Especially, the classic method for teaching-learning about dimensions and geometric figures were achieved on the flat blackboard, which has limitation for improving space perception. An interesting and effective method is required for teaching mathematical shapes. If we could visualize 3-dimensional shapes and make direct interaction possible, space perception ability could be advanced. Moreover, education combined with games could induce student’s interest and increase learning efficiency by student’s self-activity. Therefore, in this paper, we introduce a VR based mechanical puzzle game which is interactive on the desktop. The 3-dimensional shapes were modeled, and VRML sensors and Javascript was used to develop the realistic interaction. The user can interact with the puzzles while perceiving the 3-dimensional space naturally.;가상 현실(Virtual Reality: VR)이란 인간이 실제적 세계에서 경험이 불가능한 환경이나 세계를 컴퓨터로 만들어, 사용자에게 마치 실제 환경이나 세계에 있는 것처럼 느껴주고 상호작용을 하고 있는 것처럼 보여주고 조작할 수 있게 해 주는 인간 컴퓨터 간의 인터페이스를 말한다. 특히 공간도형에 관한 교수-학습은 주로 평면적인 칠판을 이용하여 도형 개념을 이해시키기 때문에 공간 지각력을 향상시키는게 한계가 있다. 공간과 기하의 개념을 쉽게 이해하고 흥미를 유발할 수 있는 효과적인 방법이 필요하다. 도형과 관련된 수학 교육에서 3차원 공간에 정보를 시각화하고 사용자가 직접 조작을 할 수 있는 환경은, 공간 지각 능력을 키우면서 학습 효과를 높일 수 있다. 또한, 게임과의 결합은 학습자에게 흥미를 유발하고 능동적으로 참여할 수 있는 기회를 확대하여 학습 효율을 높일 수 있다. 따라서 본 논문에서는, 사용자와의 상호작용이 가능하고, 몰입된 가상공간을 체험할 수 있도록 해주는 데스크탑 기반 가상현실에 VR 기반 기계적 퍼즐 장난감 환경 프로토타입을 구현하였다. 이를 위하여, 기계적 퍼즐 장난감의 주요 부분 기하학적인 물체를 삼차원 모델로 생성하였다. 이에 덧붙어 VRML 센서와 자바 스크립트를 사용하여 인터렉션을 제공해서 현실감 있는 환경을 제공한다. 또한 VR 기반 기계적 퍼즐 장난감을 사용자의 조작에 의해 단계적으로 보여주는 것을 포함한다.
