문학작품을 활용한 다문화 교육의 위계화 연구

Abstract

본 연구는 문학작품을 활용한 다문화 교육의 방법을 제시하며 그것을 위계화해 체계적인 교육을 준비하고자 하는데 목적이 있다. 문학 작품을 통한 다문화 교육은 학습자가 다양한 문학 텍스트와 소통하는 과정에서 차이에 대해 인식하며 그들도 같은 인간이라는 점을 깨달아 친밀감을 형성하며, 타문화에 대한 상호 이해와 교감이 가능하도록 해 줄 것이다. 또한 이것은 다문화사회로 변화하고 있는 지금 우리 사회에서 빚어지고 있는 갈등상황에 대해 비판적으로 인식하고 그 해결방안을 모색하게 하는데까지 연결될 수 있다. 최근 우리 사회는 다문화 사회라고 불려도 될 만큼 다문화 현상이 빠르게 증가하고 있으며, 이에 따라 다원주의적인 인식과 태도를 기르기 위한 다문화 교육을 필요로 하고 있다. 그러나 지금 현재의 다문화 교육은 해외 이주민을 대상으로 하는 언어학습과 그들의 문화적 적응 등의 가시적인 문제를 해결하는 정도에 머무를 뿐이며, 사회 구성원 전체를 대상으로 하는 다문화 교육은 그 필요성과 가치만 언급되고 있는 수준이다. 하지만 이러한 문화적 소수자만을 위한 교육이나 주류 중심의 다문화이해교육이라는 교육의 방향이 문화적 소수자와 다수자 모두에게 새로운 경계를 불어오는 것은 아닌지 되돌아보고 다문화 사회의 인적 및 집단 간의 상호성에 대해 고려해가며 논의를 전개해야 할 필요가 있다. 이를 위해 본 연구는 문학을 통한 다문화 교육의 필요성을 언급하며 지금 현재 우리의 교육과정을 살펴보았으며, 문학 작품을 통한 다문화 교육의 교육적 가치를 기반으로 문학 작품을 통한 다문화 교육에 대해 생각해보았다. 그리고 이러한 내용을 학습자의 발달 단계와 수준을 고려하여 단계적으로 제시하여, 단기적이고 체계 없이 이루어지고 있는 다문화 교육의 위계화로 연결하였다. 이러한 과정은 총 3단계로 제시하였는데, 초등학교 수준 혹은 다문화 현상을 처음 접해보는 수준의 학습자를 위한 1단계 ‘다문화 인식과 이해’, 중학교 수준 혹은 다문화 현상을 접해왔지만 그러한 현상에 대한 인식의 수준이 그리 높지 않은 학습자를 위한 2단계 ‘다문화 해석과 소통’, 고등학교 수준 혹은 우리 사회에 나타나고 있는 다문화 현상에 대해 비판적으로 인지하고 고민해본 적이 있는 수준의 학습자를 위한 3단계 ‘비판적 다문화 인식과 가치 실천’으로 구성된다. 또 이러한 단계에 맞추어 실제 수업 시간에 활용할 수 있는 수업절차도 생각해 보았다. 이러한 과정에서 학습자는 다문화적 맥락 속에서 다문화 사회가 구성한 담론을 비판적으로 성찰하는 등 사회와의 소통에 적극적으로 참여할 수 있을 것이다. 그리고 이것은 다문화 교육의 체계화를 시도했다는 점에서 앞으로 이루어질 새로운 논의의 바탕이 될 수 있을 것이다.;This thesis is about multi cultural education using Korean literature and making hierarchy of instructional objectives. Learners from multi cultural societies can understand differences between our culture and their culture through korean literature which will lead them to know we all have something in common and differences. Our society is turning to a multi cultural society and we have conflicts because of too much difference from them. We will even think about conflicts critically and this thesis will help how to solve those conflicts. Recently our society is getting full of multi culture, and we need some sort of multi cultural education to raise our awareness and attitude. However, multi cultural education is only limited to teach immigrants a language and how they can adjust this society. This only helps them in the short term. It is said that we need to educate the whole society members about multi cultural education but we are all talk. We also need to consider educations for a small number of people and for a large number of people. We need to think these kinds of educations can make boundary between the minority and majority and consider reciprocality between them. For this, this thesis will recommend the necessity about multi cultural education and check the process of our education and look for a way to educate students using Korean literature which is worth for education. And we will teach learners Korean literature depending on their levels and show them hierarchy of instructional objectives in the long term. The learners can think their discourse critically and communicate to the society. This thesis can be a basis for the next discussion since this shows hierarchy of multi cultural education.
