영아의 권리에 대한 보육교사의 인식

Abstract

영아 권리의 중요도 대한 보육교사의 인식 수준은 Likert식 5점 평정척도에서 평균이 4.78로 나타났으며 이는 보육 현장에서의 교사들의 영아 권리에 대한 인식이 매우 높음을 의미한다. 보육교사의 영아 권리의 중요도에 대한 인식수준을 하위 영역별로 살펴보면 휴식 및 여가의 권리에 대한 인식이 가장 높았다. 보육교사의 변인에 따른 영아 권리의 중요도에 대한 인식 수준을 살펴보면 보육교사의 경력에 따른 영아 권리의 중요도에 대한 인식 수준은 3년 이상 5년 미만의 교사가 5년 이상 7년 미만, 7년 이상 10년 미만의 보육교사보다 낮았고, 보육교사의 전공에 따른 영아 권리의 중요도에 대한 인식 수준은 아동학과 사회복지학 전공 교사보다 보육교사 양성과정과 아동복지학 전공의 보육교사들이 낮게 인식하고 있었으며, 보육교사의 담당 연령에 따른 영아 권리의 중요도에 대한 인식 수준은 만2세 담당 보육교사보다 0, 1세 보육교사가 더 높게 인식하고 있었다. 보육교사의 기관유형, 연령, 교육정도에 따른 영아 권리에 대한 인식 수준의 차이는 무의미한 것으로 나타났다. 영아 권리의 실천에 대한 보육교사의 인식 수준은 Likert식 5점 평정척도에서 평균이 4.65로 나타났으며 이는 보육 현장에서의 교사들의 영아 권리에 대한 실천이 높음을 의미한다. 보육교사의 영아 권리의 실천에 대한 인식 수준을 하위 영역별로 살펴보면 휴식 및 여가의 권리와 생존과 발달의 권리 권리가 동일한 수준으로 가장 높게 나타났다. 보육교사의 변인에 따른 영아 권리의 실천에 대한 인식 수준을 살펴보면 보육교사의 기관유형에 따른 영아 권리의 실천에 대한 인식 수준은 가정보육시설이 가장 낮게 나왔고 보육교사의 담당 연령에 따른 영아 권리의 실천에 대한 인식 수준은 만 2세 담당 보육교사는 0, 1세 보육교사보다 실천 수준이 낮게 나타났으며 연령, 경력, 교육정도, 전공에 따른 영아 권리의 실천에 대한 인식 수준의 차이는 무의미한 것으로 나타났다. 영아 권리의 중요도에 대한 보육교사의 인식은 실천에 대한 인식 보다 높은 수준으로 나타났다. 영아 권리의 하위 영역에 대한 중요도와 실천에 대한 인식의 차이를 살펴보면 모든 영역에서 인식보다 실천에 대한 인식이 낮게 나타났으며 특히, 생존과 발달의 권리, 자유롭게 의사를 표현하고 존중받을 권리, 사상, 양심, 종교의 자유를 가질 권리, 사생활의 보호를 받을 권리, 발달에 맞는 교재 교구를 제공받을 권리, 폭력과 학대로부터 보호받을 권리, 영양과 보건을 제공받을 권리, 잠재적 능력 개발을 위한 교육을 받을 권리, 휴식 및 여가의 권리는 인식과 실천의 차이가 유의미하게 나타났다. 중요도에 대한 인식 수준에서 상위 수준을 보인 권리 영역은 실천에 대한 인식 수준에서도 높게 나타나 중요도에 대한 인식 수준이 높은 권리는 실천에 대한 인식 수준도 높게 나타났다.;According to Likert’s rating scale, the teachers’ perception of children’s rights is 4.78 out of 5. This shows that the teachers who work in this field are highly aware of the importance of children’s rights. The sub-region with the highest score was a child’s right to have breaks and play. This research also shows that the teachers who had been in this field for over 3 years, but less than 5, had lower perceptions than those who had been in the field for 5 to 10, or 7 to 10 years. The teachers who majored in pedagogic or social welfare studies had a higher perception level compared to those that majored in nursery or child welfare studies. Teachers who were responsible for 2-year-old children had lower perceptions than those that were caring for infants aged zero or 1. However, the teacher’s age, level of education, or type of childcare center, did not relate to their perceptions of children’s rights. Teachers’ perception implementation scored 4.65 out of 5. The highest scored sub-regions from their practices were the children’s rights to have breaks, play, and grow up safe and healthy. These aspects show the same high results throughout the research. Family daycare centers scored the lowest in terms of the feasibility of implementing teachers’ perceptions among all the different types of care centers. Teachers who were responsible for 2-year-old children had lower feasibility scores than those caring for infants aged zero or 1. However, the teacher’s age, major, level of education, years of experience in this particular field did not relate to their perception implementation. Throughout this research, the teachers’ awareness of children’s rights was higher than their practical accommodations to honor those rights in every sub-region, which means that they were unable to fully implement their perceptions in practice. Feasibility of implementation relates to teacher perception, including a child’s right to survive, develop themselves, have liberal ideas, be self-conscience, have freedom of religion, have privacy protection, be provided with the development of appropriate education materials, have protection from violence and abuse, be provided the right nutrition, be educated for their potential skills development, and take breaks to play. High scores for particular sub-regions of the study for teacher perception indicate the high feasibility of including accommodations in their normal practice.
