Abstract
After the collapse of socialist social structure and the former Soviet Union, Mongolia experienced political and economic change. As a result of the political and economic revolution, social welfares of the socialist era declined or we eliminated causing a number of the social challenges in Mongolian society such as poverty, unemployment and so on. The main aims of this thesis are to describe and discuss women’s economic participation the work-force during a critical transition period in Mongolia. According to statistical data, women’s unemployment rate is higher than that of men. Based on statistical data, other qualitative surveys and analysis, this thesis explores the following research question; how much and to what extent women’s economic role has changed during the transition period of Mongolia? I reach the main conclusion that, women’s employment rate didn’t decrease but their working condition had worsened than before the transition period. Lack of social welfare services and the extra burden of taking care of their family had become the main challenges for women during the transitional period of Mongolia. Also women were more suffered than men in transition period of Mongolia.;사회주의체제와 구 소련이 붕괴한 이후, 몽골은 정치적 경제적 변화를 경험하였다.
