IPTV 공공서비스 사용자 인터페이스 가이드라인 연구

Abstract

최근 IPTV는 관련 기술의 발전과 더불어 급속하게 보급되고 있으며, 더불어 IPTV를 기반으로 한 공공서비스의 시범사업 추진이 점차 확대되고 있다. 현재 국내에서 추진되고 있는 IPTV 공공서비스 시범사업은 국방, 의료, 민원, 관광, 농수산, 교통 등 그 범위가 매우 다양하며, 대국민 서비스로서 그 가치가 매우 높을 것으로 기대된다. 하지만 현재 추진되고 있는 공공서비스 시범사업은 서비스의 구현을 위한 기술 개발을 우선으로 하여, 실제 그 서비스를 사용하게 될 사용자의 사용 편의성을 향상시키고 감성적 만족을 제고하기 위한 사용자 인터페이스에 대한 고려는 부족한 상황이다. 이와 같은 배경에서 본 연구는 IPTV 기반의 공공서비스를 제공함에 있어 사용성을 지원함과 동시에 공공서비스라는 특정 콘텐츠를 고려한 IPTV 사용자 인터페이스 가이드라인을 개발하는 것을 목적으로 진행되었다. 본 연구에서는 연구의 목적을 달성하기 위하여, TV기반 공공서비스 제공환경 및 특성을 분석하여 TV 기반 공공서비스가 나아가야 할 방향에 대해 이해하고, 이러한 이해를 바탕으로 사용자 인터페이스를 통해 달성되어야 할 원칙을 도출하였으며, 기존 가이드라인에 정의되어 있는 세부가이드라인 항목을 수집·분석·통합함으로써 IPTV 공공서비스 사용자 인터페이스 가이드라인을 개발하였다. IPTV 공공서비스 사용자 인터페이스 가이드라인 개발에 따른 본 연구의 수행 결과는 첫째, 본 연구의 방향성을 정립하고 연구의 기반을 구축하기 위하여, IPTV와 공공서비스의 개념을 분명히 하고, 현재 구현되고 있는 IPTV 서비스와 TV기반 공공서비스의 현황과 환경을 분석하였다. 둘째, IPTV 공공서비스 사용자 인터페이스를 통해 달성하고자 하는 가치와 그 가치를 달성하기 위한 6가지 원칙을 사용성 관련 연구문헌의 분석을 바탕으로 도출하고, 25개의 타 미디어를 위한 인터페이스 가이드라인 및 13편의 연구논문에 나타난 IPTV 가이드라인에서 공공서비스가 가져야 할 3가지 원칙을 추가함으로써, 총 9개의 사용자 인터페이스 가이드라인 원칙을 완성하였다. 셋째, 최종 도출된 9개 원칙에 기존 가이드라인에서 수집한 세부 항목들을 정리·분류·통합함으로써 43개 항목의 가이드라인 초안을 개발하였으며, 완성된 가이드라인 초안은 전문가 리뷰를 통하여 항목의 타당성 및 표현의 적절성 등이 검증되어 44개의 최종 가이드라인 항목을 완성하였다. 그리고 이렇게 완성된 최종 가이드라인 항목을 해당사례를 통해 보다 명확한 가이드라인으로 발전시켰다. IPTV를 통한 공공서비스의 제공은 TV라는 친숙해 매체로 인하여 매우 성공적으로 국민들에게 다가설 서비스가 될 것이다. 본 연구에서는 이러한 서비스를 개발하는데 기준이 되는 가이드라인을 개발함으로써, IPTV 공공서비스를 사용하게 될 국민들이 조작의 용이성 및 예측성을 확보하고, 편리한 정보입력 및 획득을 통해 삶의 질을 향상시킬 수 있을 것으로 기대한다.;In recent years, digitalisation in the TV industry is rapidly taking place, and it is encouraging user acceptance of IPTV (internet protocol television) which is a typical type of digital conversions, a combination of the broadcasts and communication. Moreover, the public services on IPTV are also being escalated. The business areas already using these IPTV public services are national defense, medical treatment, civil affairs, tourism, agricultural and fisheries, traffic, etc and the value of these national services are expected to be very high. However, the public service model businesses promoted currently are prioritizing the development of the technology for the realization of the services exclusively rather than concerning the improvement of the convenience of the services or fulfilling the satisfaction of the users. Therefore, this study focuses on the development of the user interface guideline that emphasizes the usability and the characteristics of the public services when providing the IPTV based public services. To accomplish the purpose of this study, the offering environment and the characteristics of the TV based public services are to be analyzed and the next step of the TV based public services are understood. With the basis of this understanding, the principles to be completed through the user interface, are all to be derived. Then, by collecting, analyzing, and integrating the explicit guidelines defined within the existing guidelines, IPTV public service user interface guidelines are developed. The results of this research for the development of the guideline for the IPTV public service user interface are as follows: Firstly, in order to setup the direction and the basis of this study, we clarified the concepts of IPTV and the public services and analyzed the current status and environment of the IPTV services as well as the TV based public services. Secondly, we have come to 9 principles of the user interface guidelines in total by combining the 6 principles based on the analysis of the researches related on the usability to realize the value derived from the IPTV public service user interface, and the 3 principles appeared on 13 theses on the IPTV guidelines and on the interface guidelines for other 25 media. Thirdly, through the integration of the finalized 9 principles and the details of the existing guidelines, we developed the draft of the guidelines with 43 items. These were verified by the experts on the appropriateness and the relevance of the presentation. Therefore, we ended up with the guideline with 44 items. On top of that, these guidelines were even improved by including both the compliance and violation examples and were utilized to create the assessment form to evaluate the level of the user interface. The public services provided through IPTV will successfully approach people due to the fact that they can use the services with their TVs which they are already very familiar with. By establishing the guidelines set as the standards of the introduction of these services, we are expecting to ensure prediction and availability of the IPTV public services and to improve quality of people’s lives through convenient information access and ensure.
