유아기 읽기, 쓰기에 대한 어머니, 아버지의 인식

Abstract

본 연구는 서울에 위치하고 있는 유치원에 자녀를 보내고 있는 어머니와 아버지를 대상으로 유아기 읽기, 쓰기에 대한 인식을 비교 분석해 봄으로써 올바른 유아기 읽기, 쓰기 교육을 위한 방향을 세우는데 필요한 기초 자료를 제공하는데 그 목적이 있다. 이와 같은 목적을 위해 설정한 연구문제는 다음과 같다. 1. 유아기 읽기, 쓰기 교육에 대한 전반적인 부모의 인식은 어떠한가? 2. 유아기 읽기, 쓰기 교육방법에 대한 부모의 인식은 어떠한가? 본 연구는 서울시에 위치한 사립 유치원에 만3, 4, 5세 자녀를 보내고 있는 어머니 344명과 아버지 330명을 대상으로 하였으며, 질문지는 관련된 선행 연구에서 사용된 질문지를 근거로 하여 본 연구자가 제작하였다. 구성은 읽기 · 쓰기 교육의 전반적인 사항으로 필요성과 그 이유, 요구자, 교육 시기 및 수준, 교육방법 등을 묻는 11문항, 읽기 · 쓰기 교육 활동에 관해서 28문항, 읽기 · 쓰기 교육 자료에 관해서 17문항으로 총 56문항으로 구성되었다. 수집된 자료는 읽기, 쓰기 교육에 대한 부모의 전반적 인식은 빈도 분석을 하였고 읽기, 쓰기 교육 활동 및 자료에 관한 문항들은 T-test(독립표본 검정)를 이용하여 부모의 인식에 차이가 있는지를 분석하였다. 본 연구의 결과를 요약하면 다음과 같다. 첫째, 유아기 읽기, 쓰기 교육의 필요성에 대해 부모는 모두 필요하다고 생각하였으며 필요한 이유에 대해서는 유아의 발달 단계에 적합하기 때문이라고 인식하고 있었다. 유아기 읽기, 쓰기 교육은 모두 부모의 요구에 의한다고 인식하고 있었다. 둘째, 유아기 읽기 교육의 수준에 대해 부모는 모두 간단한 문장 읽기 수준까지 이루어져야 한다는 인식이 가장 높았다. 쓰기 교육의 수준에 대해 단어 수준까지 이루어져야 한다는 인식이 가장 높았고 읽기 교육은 만3세부터 쓰기 교육은 만 4세부터 이루어져야 한다고 인식하고 있었다. 셋째, 유아기 읽기, 쓰기 교육 방법에 대해 부모는 일상생활을 통해 자연스럽게 습득해야 하며 지도 방법에 있어서는 친숙한 낱말을 중심으로 하여 알도록 하는 것에 긍정적으로 인식하고 있었다. 어머니에 비해 아버지는 자, 모음을 습득한 후 자, 모음의 결합을 통해 글자를 알도록 하는 것에 긍정적으로 인식하였다. 넷째, 유아기 읽기, 쓰기 교육에 관한 정보 습득 방법에 대해 부모는 다른 학부모와의 정보 교환을 통하여 얻는다고 인식하고 있는 것으로 나타났다. 다섯째, 유아기 읽기, 쓰기 교육 활동과 교육 자료에 대하여 부모는 모두 비형식적이고, 비지시적인 활동들을 긍정적으로 인식하고 있었다. 여섯째, 유아기 읽기, 쓰기 교육의 문제점으로 부모 모두 자신의 인내심 부족을 가장 큰 문제로 인식하고 있었다.;The purpose of this study is to survey the perception of Kindergarten mothers and fathers about Reading & writing education for early childhood, and to find the differences between them. According to this purpose, the main subject of study, as follows, were set up. 1. What is the perception of Kindergarten mothers and fathers about reading & writing education for early childhood? 2. What is the perception of Kindergarten mothers and fathers about the necessity of reading & writing education for early childhood? In order to do this study, I researched 334 mothers and 330 fathers who have their children going to the kindergartens in Seoul. This questionnaire, consisting of 56 questions of inquiring the comprehensive necessity, the developmental stage and the appropriate time to teach, teaching method and the problems for early childhood's reading & writing education, was restructured on the basis of the relevant preceding researches. The questionnaire was verified with content validity by a professor of early childhood education. SPSS Win 12.0 program was used. For analyzing collected data, t-test was used. The results of this study are as follows; First, Both of mothers and fathers take it for granted that reading & writing education for early childhood is necessary because they considered that the reading & writing education for early childhood is appropriate for the developmental stage of the children. Second, The different perception was appeared between mothers and fathers about the reading & writing ability that children have to get and the starting time to teach reading & writing on early childhood. Both mothers and fathers pointed that children have to read simple sentences and to write even some short words on early childhood. About the starting time to teach, mothers and fathers pointed that 3 year old age is suitable for reading and for writing but both parts answered that 4 years old is suitable. Third, There was a teaching method reading & writing education for early childhood. they perceived that indirect teaching method is more effective than directive teaching method. Finally, The problem in side of parents are in that most of them are in lack of patience for reading & writing education of early childhood between mothers and fathers.
