火紋의 율동적 재구성에 관한 연구

Abstract

인류가 시작된 이래로 인간의 미 ( 美 )에 대한 추구는 계속되어져 왔다. 인간이 자연과 사물을 통해서 느끼는 표현욕구는 조형의지로 싹터 문양이란 단순화된 형태로 나타나게 되었다. 이와같은 문양은 선사시대 부터 인간의 순수한 표현형태로 비독립적 장식성향을 띄었으나 오늘날 현대미술에 있어서 그 의미를 달리 하게 되었다. 즉 현대 조형활동에서의 문양의 역할은 사물의 단순화된 묘사가 아닌 독립적이며 그 의미 양식화된 형태로서 작가의 내면세계와 결합하여 창조적 조형활동의 새로운 표현대상으로 등장하고 있다. 이러한 점에서 문양이 갖는 조형적 의미를 재조명 하여 보고 이를 대상으로한 다양한 표현가능성을 제시함은 그 의의가 크다고 하겠다. 따라서 본 연구자는 이조시대의 전통적 화문양 ( 火紋樣 )을 표현대상으로 삼아 화문의 이미지를 율동적으로 재구성하는 과정에서 현대인의 희·노·애·락의 감정을 대변하고, 문양의 조형적 표현 가능성을 모색하는데 그 목적을 두었다. 이를 위해 문양에 대한 일반적 고찰을 토대로 화문의 성격과 이미지를 알아보고, 형상의 기호화 개념에 대한 이론적 배경을 바탕으로 작품형성원리, 재료기법을 연구하여 10점의 작품을 제작, 분석하는 과정에서 다음과 같은 결론을 얻었다. 첫째, 문양의 뜻을 풀어보는 것은 미를 풀어내는 것과 마찬가지의 의미를 가진다는 말에 공감하며, 그 방법은 달리하나 내면적 표현이념은 과거나 현재나 같다. 따라서 이를 빌어 인간의 희노애락의 감정물 나타내고자 한 것은 독창적 표현의 가능성을 모색하는 계기가 되었다. 둘째, 표현에 있어 변형된 화문의 곡선은 그 자체만으로 인간의 내면세계를 상징적으로 암시하며 반복을 통한 율동적 표현에 적절한 요소임을 확인하게 되었다. 세째, 작품제작에서 C.M.C풀을 재료로한 호염법의 선택은 적절한 표현방법이었고 그의 특성으로 인한 효과를 실험을 통해 다양한 기법으로 개발함으로써 새로운 표현양식이 생성될 수 있음을 알게 되었다. 네째, 염료와 풀을 혼합한 색호( 色繼 )를 사용함으로써 경우에 따라 색상, 명도, 채도에 있어 의도와는 다르게 나타나는 문제점이 드러났으나 충분한 사전작업을 통해 이를 해결해 나갈 수 있었다. 앞으로 이러한 문제점들을 보완하고 재료의 특성과 효과적 표현에 관해 여러각도에서 연구함으로써, 본 연구가 창의적 표현의 확대를 가져오는 출발점이 되고자 한다.;The human pursuit for beauty has been proceeded ever since mankind had originated. The desire for expression that man receives from nature and objects began to develop as a will to shape and emerged as a simplified form called a pattern. The pattern which had been man's genuine form of expression since the pre-historic age showed a dependeant and ornamental tendency. In the modern art, however, its meaning came to be greatly varied. The role of a pattern in the modern formative activities, namely, is not a simplified description of an object but an independent and conventionalized form in its meaning. Conjoined with the inner world of an artist, the pattern arises as a new subject of expression in the creative formative activities. In this respect, it will be important to reelucidate the formative meaning of patterns and to suggest various possibilities of expression. This present reporter, therefore, set the purpose of this research to speak for every emotion of modern man and to explore the patterns formative possibilities of expression.'phis purpose was attained in the process of adopting the traditional 'Hwa-moon' (a flower pattern) of Yidynasty as the object of expression and to reconstruct its image rhythmically. The following conclusion was arrived after : finding out the features and images of 'Hwa-moon' on the basis of general inquiry into the pattern; studing the formational principles of works theoretically founded on the symbolizing concept of a shape; and producing and analysing ten pieces of work. First, I agree that to decode the meaning of a pattern is to interpret what the beauty is. Though the modes may be varied, the inward c cept of expression is unchanged throughout the ages. Therefore, I came to ascertain that it is one of the possibilities of creative expression to try to symbolize the human emotions by pattern. Second, it is discovered that the transformed curved line of 'Hwa-moon' in itself symbolizes the inner world of human being and is an appropriate element of repetitive and rhythmical expression. Third, it was found out that choosing 'Ho-yeom' method made of C.M.C. in the production of a work was a proper way of expression, and by developing its characteristic effects through experiments a new mode of expression was generated. Fourth, using 'Saek-ho' which is mingled with dyes and paste, the problem was arisen under certain circumstances that the color, the degree of brightness, and the color scheme appeared to be different from my will. Through sufficient management beforehand, however, the problem could be solved. By further studing on these problems, on the features of material and the effective expression, it is desired that this research will be the startpoint of the development of creative expression.
