개별학습에 의한 음악지도 연구

Abstract

It is said that human being has more or less musical talent naturally and is capable of expressing his aesthetical feelings through singing and dancing. However it is true that there is some discrepancy in the musical ability among people. Therfore it can be thought that the individualized instruction, which may meet the musical interests and needs of the individual, is more efficient than the unified educational system for the music education. As the individualized instruction is designed to explore the potentiality of each student with maximum, it is regarded as innovative approach to pursue the improvement of quality and efficiency in the educational system. In chapter Ⅲ, several cases of the elementary schools in the U.S.A., whose instructional format is based on the individualized Instruction are analysed. As a result of this case study, it was found that those schools offer the systematic music program to provide each student with the musical experience he desires. Under the individualized program, each student may be contracted for the various activities that he wishes to involve, Once the contract is written, the students progress their learning at their own way. The performance is evaluated after they feel that they have accomplished their goals. In order to apply the individualized instruction to music education in Korea, there are some suggestions as follows: 1. The educational goal of music in Korea can be achieved more effectively under the individualized instructional system. 2. For the individualized instruction. the appropriate educational environments such as music laboratory, the carrels, various materials, and music specialists, must be equipped. 3. To elevate the efficiency of the instructional system, the nongraded grouping and the flexible scheduling are indispensable. 4. Steady and sequential evaluation - preliminary test, occasional check and final evaluation - must be put on the record which is utilized as data for individual students' progress. The studies about the individualized music instruction barely entered their early stage in Korea. Therefore it can be suggested that the experimental research OR the development of practical model and efficient program should be continued.;모든 인간은 노래나 춤을 통하여 자신의 미학적인 감정을 표현할 수 있는 능력을 가지고 있을 뿐 아니라 어느 정도의 음악적 재능을 가지고 태어난다고 보는 데, 사람마다 그 능력의 많고 적음에는 분명한 차이가 있다. 그러므로 음악 교육에 있어서 획일적인 집단 수업체제 보다는 개인의 소질, 능력, 진도와 필요를 고려하는 개별학습 체제가 더욱 효율적인 방법이라 할 수 있다. 개별화 교수(Individualized Instruction)는 학습자 간의 근본적인 개인차를 인정하고 개인의 능력을 최대한 계발하고자 시도된 것으로, 교육의 질적 향상을 도모하고 그 효율성을 극대화 할 수 있는 혁신적 교육 방법이다. 본 논문에서는 먼저 음악 교육과정에 개별학습 체제를 도입하고 있는 미국 국민학교들의 음악지도 사례를 분석하였다. 이 학교들의 음악 학습은 학생들의 개별적 요구 충족을 위한 교육 목표하에서 학생들의 선택적인 계약에 의해 다양한 학습활동이 진행되고, 이 계약에 기초한 평가가 이루어지는 하나의 통일된 체제로 운영되고 있었다. 우리의 음악 교육 현장에서 개별학습 체제를 성공적으로 적용, 시행하기 위하여 몇가지의 지침을 제시하면 다음과 같다. 1. 우리나라 음악과 교육과정에 명시된 교육 목표에서는 학생 각자의 음악에 대한 직접적 체험과 창조성의 계발을 강조하고 있는데, 이는 학습자 개인에게 개별적인 관심이 주어지는 개별학습 체제에서 더욱 효과적으로 성취될 수 있다. 2. 개별학습을 체계적, 효율적으로 시행하게 하는 학습환경으로 음악실, 특별활동실, 개별학습실 등의 공간이 확보되어야 하며, 전문 교사의 활용과 함께 다양한 학습자료가 구비되어야 한다. 3. 효율적인 학습체제의 조직을 위하여는 기존의 학년 구분을 없애고 능력별 집단으로 편성되는 새로운 등급체제를 운영하되, 고정화된 전통적 시간 계획 대신에 Module 개념에 의거한 융통성 있는 시간 계획을 활용하는 것이 효과적이다. 4. 개별학습의 평가체제는 학생들의 등급 결정을 위한 사전 진단평가와 수시 평가, 성취도 및 진급 여부를 결정하는 사후평가로 구분되는데, 평가의 결과는 단순한 성적표가 아닌 학생 개별평가표에 기록되고, 진급시 다음 등급으로 이송되어 학생 개인의 음악적인 진전 상황을 알려주는 자료로 활용되어야 한다. 이와같은 개별학습에 의한 음악지도는 현재 우리나라에서 많은 연구가 시행되지 못한 실정이기 때문에, 실제적인 개별학습 지도 모형과 효율적인 교육 프로그램의 개발에 대한 실험연구가 향후 계속되어야 할 것이다.
