역사적 탐구 기능에 관한 내용 분석

Abstract

본 연구의 목적은 학생들의 역사적 탐구 기능을 향상 시켜 주기 위해 교과서가 탐구 활동에 적절한 교재로 쓰여져 있는지 분석하는데 있다. 교사가 학생들의 역사적 탐구 기능을 키워 주기 위해 다양한 노력을 하고자 하여도 교재가 단편적인 사실이나 개념 서술에 그치고 있다면 효과적인 탐구 활동의 전개는 어려울 것이다. 그러므로 현재 사용되고 있는 제7차 교육과정 6학년 1학기 ‘사회’ 교과서와 ‘사회과 탐구’의 내용 속에 역사적 탐구 기능의 요소들이 어떻게 포함되어 있는지 밝히는 것은 매우 의미있는 일이다. 학생들의 역사적 탐구 기능을 향상 시켜 줄 수 있는 교재로 사회교과서와 사회과 탐구가 제 기능을 다하기 위해서는 다음과 같이 해결해야 할 몇 가지 과제가 있음을 보여준다. 첫째, 학습자가 스스로 탐구 문제를 스스로 세워 볼 수 있는 기회를 마련해 주어겠다. ‘사회’ 교과서에는 다양한 사진자료, 삽화자료, 읽기자료, 연표, 역사지도 등 탐구 활동에 필요한 자료를 통해 학생들이 흥미를 가지고 학습 문제를 스스로 파악할 수 있도록 유도하였다. 그러나 보다 학생들의 호기심을 자극하기 위한 논쟁점이나 문제를 포함하여 제시하여 탐구 활동이 활발히 진행될 수 있도록 안내해야겠다. 또한 역사적 개념이나 용어의 의미를 보다 명확하게 제시하여 탐구 주제를 분명하게 인식할 수 있는 기회를 제공해야겠다. 이것을 통해 탐구 주제가 역사의 본질과 주제의 성격에 비추어 문제가 무엇이며 그것이 왜 다루어져야 할 가치가 있는가를 분명히 파악할 수 있도록 교과서가 안내해야 할 것이다. 둘째, 단순한 시각적 효과만을 지니고 있는 사진 자료가 대부분을 차지하고 있으므로 이를 과감하게 삭제하고 탐구활동에 실제적으로 도움이 될 수 있는 자료들을 엄선하여 제시해야 하겠다. 연표와 역사지도, 사료 등의 자료를 통해 학생들이 정보가 되는 것의 다양성을 확인하고 정보에 대한 의미를 해석할 수 있도록 안내해야겠다. 셋째, ‘사회’ 교과서에서는 정보의 습득 방법으로 조사만을 교과서에 제시하고 있다. 따라서 학습 문제를 해결하기 위해 조사 뿐 아니라 답사, 관찰, 견학을 통해서도 탐구 활동이 가능하도록 안내해야겠다. 이를 통해 학생들 스스로 목적에 적합한 자료를 선택할 수 있는 기회를 제공해야겠다. 아울러 학생들이 다양한 출처에서 자료를 수집할 수 있도록 안내해야 하며, 이에 알맞은 탐구 질문을 통해 역사적 탐구 기능의 각 단계에 부합하는 학습 활동이 이루어 질 수 있도록 해야겠다. 이처럼 자료를 수집하고 처리하는 능력은 학생들로 하여금 역사적 탐구 기능을 향상시킬 수 있는 좋은 기회가 될 수 있으리라 믿는다.;This study intends to analyze the elementary social science textbook if it is proper as a inquiry learning text book that is emphasized as the study method of social science education. The 7th social science curriculum also emphasizes the inquiry leaning more than any other study patterns, so to make this com true, the social science textbook offers various and rich materials with its contents still is not evaluated that it is applied a lot in actual social science class. To apply the inquiry learning will be more difficult if the textbook is not made properly for it first because the basic spirit and intention of the curriculum comes true though the textbook. Therefor, it will be seen in this study if the social science textbook is proper for the historical inquiry skills learning that the curriculum intends. The appropriateness of the textbook as the textbook of historical inquiry skills are checked by being divided into the appropriateness of research materials and research activities. Because 'research' is accomplished by using various materials and active activities of students. The direction of the study was focused on the appropriateness of the social science textbook of the first semester of 6th grade which is the material I used as the textbook for history inquiry because it contains the character of history textbook.
