Claude A. Debussy의 Children's corner에 관한 연구

Abstract

Claude Achille Debussy(1862-1918) was a French musician who established himself the impressionism and provided a momentum for modern music. He synthesized the influences of impressionistic arts, symbolic poems and the exotic impressions he acquired from the Paris International Exposition to build up music of unique music, and developed as impressionism music. Debussy, who was pianist, selected the piano as the most suitable musical instrument in expressing impressionism. And he composed many piano works showed impressionism techniques. This study first examined the musical features of Debussy' piano works and investigates the「Children's corner」 in terms of harmony, scale, rhythm, form and pedal. Feature of Debussy' music is the expression of timbre through harmony. He used various harmonic materials by additional chords or using a dissonant. He made a tonality incorrectly with pentatonic scale, whole-tone scale, middle age mode in addition to major and minor key. And he made a rhythmic pulse irregularly using various rhythms. To express impressionism tectonics of performance has to be different. It was need to different touch, and it had to express dynamics with technical pedaling. 「Children's corner」is made of 6 pieces based on expressionism ; Doctor Gradus ad parnassum, Jimbo's Lullaby, Serenade for the Doll, The Snow is dancing, The Littel Shepherd, Golliwog's cake-walk. It make a ambiguity of tonality using pentatonic, various mode, and chromatic scale. Also it make a harmonic colorfully using 5th, octave, paralle, and additional chords. And it make a melody organically using complex rhythm and jazz rhythm. To express dynamics in this work, we need to have rich imagination, to use three pedals delicately. 「Children's corner」is applying impressionistic elements; harmony, scale, rhythm, form. Therefore, this 「Children's corner」 can be said to be a work having the characteristic of the Impressionism music. This paper purposes to help to play well analyzing these features, and it sought to perceive the position of Debussy who established his own music style and connected in the romantic era to modern era.;프랑스의 작곡가 드뷔시(Claude Achille Debussy, 1862-1918)는 인상주의 음악을 확립하여 현대음악으로의 전환점을 마련해준 작곡가였다. 그는 인상주의 미술과 상징주의 시, 파리 만국 박람회의 영향을 받아 자신만의 음악을 확립하고, 인상주의 음악으로 발전시켰다. 뛰어난 피아니스트이기도 했던 드뷔시는, 피아노에서 인상주의 어법을 가장 잘 나타내어 인상주의 어법을 보여주는 중요한 작품을 많이 작곡하였다. 이 논문은 드뷔시의 피아노 음악의 특징에 대해 연구한 것이며 피아노 음악 작곡이 활발하게 이루어졌던 시기의 곡 중 「Children's corner」를 중심으로 작곡법과 연주법에 대해 분석한 것이다. 드뷔시 음악의 특징은 특히 화성을 통해 잘 나타난다. 불협화음을 해결하지 않고 독립적으로 사용하거나 부가음을 첨가한 화성을 만듬으로써 곡에 색채감을 부여하였다. 기존의 조성 뿐만 아니라 5음음계나 온음음계, 선법의 사용으로 조성을 모호하게 하였으며, 자유로운 리듬을 사용하여 규칙적인 박절이 느껴지지 않게 하였다. 또한 이러한 인상주의 특징을 잘 표현하기 위해 연주에 있어서는 이전과는 다른 터치와 섬세한 페달 사용을 통한 미묘한 셈여림 변화를 필요로 하게 되었다. 「Children's corner」는 이러한 드뷔시의 인상주의 어법을 바탕으로 작곡된 곡으로 6곡으로 이루어져있으며 각 곡의 제목은 다음과 같다. 제1곡-Doctor Gradus ad parnassum, 제2곡-Jimbo's Lullaby, 제3곡-Serenade for the Doll, 제4곡-The Snow is dancing, 제5곡-The Littel Shepherd, 제6곡-Golliwog's cake-walk. 이 곡은 5음음계와 여러 가지 선법, 반음계 등을 사용하여 조성을 모호하게 하였고, 5도, 8도 병행진행이나 부가음, 복조화성 등의 사용으로 화성에 색채감을 부여하였다. 또한 복합리듬이나 재즈 리듬의 사용으로 짧은 선율들을 짜임새 있게 해주었다. 이 곡에 나오는 섬세한 다이내믹을 표현하기 위해서는 소리에 대한 풍부한 상상력을 가져야 하며 세 개 페달을 모두 예민하게 사용해야 한다. 「Children's corner」는 드뷔시가 중요히 여겼던 음악적 요소인 화성, 음계, 리듬, 형식 등을 고루 사용하고 있으므로, 인상주의 음악의 특색을 모두 갖춘 작품이라 할 수 있다. 본 논문에서는 이러한 특징들을 자세히 분석하여 연주에 도움을 주고자 하며, 더 나아가 자신만의 음악세계를 확립하여 낭만음악과 현대음악의 매개체 역할을 했던 드뷔시의 음악사적 위치를 인식하는데 목적이 있다.
