전통 수식을 응용한 복식디자인 연구

Abstract

The tradition which has formed from the past acts as creative possibility at the present and it will be added value to the future. Therefore it is necessary to apply the plastic characteristic of traditional pattern which has been succeeded reflecting our peoples' original aesthetic sense to the fashion design which shows the social condition of one's times. The purpose of this study is to examine plastic principles and aesthetic characteristics of traditional ornament and to apply it to fashion design with plactical recomposition on the basis of theoretical understanding about traditional ornament. In this study, the study range is men's ornament, men's and women's button ornament of the Chosen Dynasty period and in the contents of this study, first of all, for the theoretical understanding, the history of traditional ornamentation and its meaning were investigated from references and the characteristics corresponding various patterns and aesthetic characteristics were investigated from comparison and analysis of data selected and after the works examples of modernization of traditional patterns and its tendency were examined, thereby works were manufactured with the motive in which the traditional plastic nature was interpreted. The method of this study is to analyse the characteristics in the viewpoint of plastic arts which could be seen from the subjects of analysis after head ornament, topknot crown, hat ornament and button ornament of men and women in Chosen Dynasty period were collected, and thereby its aesthetic characteristics was applied to fashion design with practicality. The total works presented as the subjects of analysis were eight and they were manufactered as the modern fashion design which had Korean image in the point of recreation of tradition. The results this study were as follows : First, in the case of application of principles and plastic nature of traditional ornamentation, the technical methods of traditional industrial arts, embroidery etc. were hamonized with which is used the materials and colors of modern times and traditional form and figures could be expressed with modern senses. Second, in the procedure of which aesthetic characteristic of traditional ornamentation were recomposed at fashion design, the plastic nature was pursued in the purpose of function and practicality. Third, in the case of application of traditional aesthetic characteristic to modern fashion design, the expressions of various designs from the development of tradition with developmental view by the succession not simply the reproduction of old things could be established as the peculiar international fashion design with creative possibility.;전통은 과거로부터 형성되어 와서 현재에 창조적 가능성으로 작용하며 미래에 그 가치를 더한다. 따라서 한 시대의 사회상을 나타내는 복식에 있어서도 우리 민족의 독창적인 미의식을 반영하며 계승되어온 전통양식의 조형적 특성을 재조명하여 적용시켜 볼 필요가 있다. 본 연구의 목적은 전통 수식에 대한 이론적 이해를 바탕으로 전통 수식의 조형 원리와 미적 특성을 규명하여 그 조형성을 복식디자인에 실용적으로 재구성하여 적용하는데 있다. 본 연구는 전통 수식 중 조선시대의 남자 수식과 남녀 단추식을 연구범위로 하며, 연구의 내용은 우선 이론적 이해를 위해 문헌 자료에서 전통 수식의 역사 및 의의를 살펴보며, 수집된 자료의 비교, 분석을 통하여 전통 수식의 유형별 특징과 미적 특성을 고찰하고 전통 양식의 현대화 작품 사례 및 경향을 알아본 후 전통 수식의 조형성을 재해석한 내용을 모티브로 작품을 제작하였다. 본 연구의 방법은 관계문헌자료를 바탕으로, 조선시대 남자 수식(修飾) 중 수식(首飾), 상투관, 입식, 단추식 등과 여자 단추식을 표집하여 분석 대상에 나타난 특징을 조형예술적 관점에서 분석하고 그 미적 특성을 실용적인 면에서 복식에 표현하였다. 분석대상으로 제시된 작품은 총8점으로, 현대 복식에 있어 전통의 재창조라는 측면에서 한국적 이미지를 지닌 현대적 복식으로 제작하였다. 본 연구의 결과를 종합하면 다음과 같다. 첫째, 전통 수식의 원리와 조형성을 적용함에 있어 전통 공예, 자수 등의 기법을 현대의 재료, 색상 등을 사용하여 조화시켰으며 전통적 형태와 문양을 현대적 감각으로 수용하여 표현할 수 있다. 둘째, 전통 수식의 미적 특성을 복식에 재구성하는 과정에서 기능과 실용성이라는 목적을 바탕으로 조형성을 추구하였다. 셋째, 현대 복식에 전통의 미적 특성을 적용함에 있어 단순히 옛것의 재현이 아닌 연속에 의한 발전적 시각으로 전통을 전개함으로서 나타난 다양한 디자인의 표현은 창조적 가능성을 지닌 독창적인 국제 복식으로 성립될 수 있다.
