텔레비젼 뉴스에 관한 연구

Abstract

본 논문은 텔레비전뉴스의 성격을 고찰하고 이에 비추어 우리나라 텔레비전 뉴스 프로그램의 위치를 파악함으로써 뉴스 프로그램을 종합진단하고 나아가 앞으로의 방향을 제시하고자 하는 목적에서 쓰여진 것이다. 이러한 목적을 위하여 텔레비전 뉴스의 역사적 배경과 우리나라 텔레비전 뉴스의 발달과정을 살피고 텔레비전 보도 프로그램의 종류와 특성, 영향을 고찰하였다. 이와 같은 이론적 배경을 중심으로 KBS, TBC, MBC, 세 방송국의 텔레비전 뉴스를 시청조사하여 그 내용을 분석한 결과 다음과 같은 결론을 얻을 수 있었다. 1. 총 방송시간에 대한 뉴스 시간의 비율은 약 10% 정도로 좀 더 증가되어야 하겠으며 심층 취재 프로그램의 강화가 요망된다. 2. 지방 뉴스의 발전과 함께 수도권 뉴스도 제공되기를 바란다. 3. 제공된 뉴스를 분류한 결과 내신이 80% 이상을 차지했고 내신 중에서는 사회 뉴스가 가장 많았다. 또한 조사 기간의 특성으로 인하여 정치뉴스가 특히 강조되었다. 4. 조사 결과 피처와 논평의 제공이 미흡하여 문예평론과 방송 사설은 제공되지 않았다. 5. 유능한 뉴스 캐스터의 양성이 요청되며 특히 여성 뉴스 캐스터의 역할이 개선되어야 하겠다. 6. 시각자료의 다각적인 활용이 부족하여 제대로의 효과를 거두지 못하므로 이에 대한 개선책이 모색되어야 할 것이다. 7. 전반적인 보도 프로그램의 육성이 필요하며 시청자에게 외면 당하지 않는 프로그램을 제작해야 할 것이다. 8. 현재의 경직된 분위기에서 벗어나 뉴스 프로그램이 좀 더 친근하게 진행되기를 바란다.;This thesis proposes to find out general characteristics of television news in Korea and examine to current situation and problems. For this purpose, this study has focused on the development of television news in Korea, and includes a review of the history, kinds, characteristics and effects of television news programs. To support its theoretical position, this research has also concentrated on the analysis of the contents of the television news presented by the three television stations in Seoul- KBS, TBC, MBC. The result can be summed up as follows; 1. The proportion of the news programs to the total programs is approximately 14%, and should be increased a little more. In-depth reporting programs must also be strengthened. 2. A separate metropolitan news program should be considered, in addition to the development of local news. 3. By classifying the content of the news, it was learned that domestic news amounted to over 80%, most of it social or city news, Political news was emphasized particularly, because this study was made during the period of the national referrendum on the new Constitution. 4. Feature and opinion-comment marterials were found to be in short supply, and there were no editorials, nor any critiques on the arts. 5. Although the newscaster system has been under way since early 1970's, the popularity and ability of the newscasters have not yet been established. A more effective news caster system must be developed, and especially, the role of female newscasters must be improved. 6. Lack of a more varied use of visual materials limits the effectiveness of news programs. 7. Other public service programs, such as television documentary programs, interview programs, talk programs etc., must be presented regularly, in addition to the news programs, in order to attract a greater audience. 8. News programs should proceed more intimately, softening the present, overly formal atmosphere.
