華容道 硏究

Abstract

＜華容道＞는 조선 후기에 나온 판소리계 소설이다. 본 논문은 이 작품의 형성 과정과 관련하여 그 문학적 성격과 의의를 살펴보고자 하는 의도에서 시도되었다. 먼저 제 2장에서는 ＜華容道＞의 異本 고찰을 바탕으로, 그 형성 과정을 알아보았다. ＜華容道＞는 크게 창본계와 완판계로 나뉠 수 있다. 창본계는 판소리 사설이 소설화한 초기 단계의 것으로, 판소리본과 매우 유사하며, 완판계는 창본의 이러한 성격에 三國志演義의 서사적 긴밀성을 더하여 구성되었다. 따라서 華容道는 三國志演義와 赤壁歌의 영향으로 형성된 작품이라 할 수 있다. 제 3 장에서는 앞장의 고찰을 전제로 삼고, ＜三國志演義＞, 신재효본판소리 사설과 비교하여 ＜華容道＞의 문학적 특성에 대해 살펴 보았다. 구성면에서 ＜華容道＞는 철저한 사건 중심의 전개이면서 이러한 전개가 이원적으로 이루어져 있었다. ＜赤壁歌＞에 비해 등장하는 인물은 다양하고 활동도 많아졌지만, 오히려 인물이 지녔던 풍자성은 약화되고 성격이 모호해지는 등 ＜三國志演義＞에 근접한 묘사가 주를 이루었다. 문체는 문어체와 판소리체가 혼용되어 쓰이고 있었다. 제 4 장에서는 이 작품의 소설사적 의의를 찾아보았다. ＜華容道＞가 지닌 판소리계 소설로서의 일반적인 특징과 아울러, 그만이 지니고 있는 독자성을 찾아보았다. ＜華容道＞의 가장 큰 특징은 그 형성 과정에 있다. ＜華容道＞의 모태가 되는 ＜赤壁歌＞가 소설에서 파생된 것이므로, ＜華容道＞역시 원소설의 영향을 받게 되었다는 것과, 그로 인하여 판소리계 소설로서의 성격이 희석화 되었음을 알아냈다. 이 과정에서 ＜三國志演義＞와 ＜赤壁歌＞의 이질적 요소들이 통일적으로 결합하지 못하면, 작품이 부분적으로 일관성을 지니지 못하였음을 알 수 있었다. 그러나 문체를 중심으로 보았을 때 이들의 결합은 작품에 생동감을 더하여주고, ＜赤壁歌＞와 ＜三國志演義＞의 기존의 독자층을 모두 아울렀다는 의의를 지닌다.;Hawyongdo is a Pansori group novel which emerged from the late Chosun Dynasty. This thesis is intended to look into the literary nature and meaning of Hwayondo in terms of its developing process. In Chapter Ⅱ, I have considered the developing process on the basis of looking into other versions of Hwayondo. Hwayongdo is roughly divided into Singing Editions and Wanphan. Singing Edition is early version of Pansori novel, which is novelized later, and is similar to Pansori versions. As for Wanphan, ethic coherence is added to this character of Singing Editions. In the Chapter Ⅲ, I have examined the literary characteristics of Hwayongdo in comparison with Samkukgiyonyee and Sinjasho version of Pansori Sasul. In terms of plot, Hwayongdo proceeds depending entirely on events and its procession has double plots. in terms of character, It has more characters than Chuckbyeockga, but the sarcastic became diluted and nature became ambiguous. Language is the combination of written and singing languages. In the Chapter Ⅳ, I sought its meaning in the novel history. Not only its general characteric as a Pansori group novel but also its unique Independence. The most unique characteristic lies in its developing process. As Hwayongdo derived from Chckbyeockga which is the precursor to Hwayongdo, it's also influenced by the original novel and it caused its nature of Pansori group novel diluted. In addition, in this process, the work is partly incoherent because it failed to put together different elements of Samkukgiyonyee and Chuckbyeockga to make a unity. Even thourh Hwayongdo is imcoplete interms of its literary success, its value as a reference to the process of Samkukgiyonyee's taking root in Korea is admitted.
