張龍鶴의 文體 硏究

Abstract

文學作品인 小說은 言語를 통하여 이루어지는 藝術活動이며, 作家는 그의 思想이나 感情을 言語라는 形武을 통해서 具體化한다. 그러므로 文學의 內容과 形式을 包括하여 總體的으로 硏究할 때 비로소 올바른 文學硏究에 도달할 수 있다. 이때 文體論( stylistics )은 하나의 유용한 方法論이 된다. 本 硏究는 小說作品을 하나의 言語構造體로 把握하여, 텍스트內에서 言語가 어떠한 方式으로 藝術的 機能을 발휘하는가를 考察하며 아울러 그 속에 감추어진 作品의 意味構造까지 추구해 보았다. 이러한 分析은 作家가 속해 있는 社會的 狀況이나 그로 인해 형성된 作家의 世界觀 · 文學觀과의 相關關係 속에서 이루어졌다. 本 論文의 中心目的은 위와같은 方法論에 입각하여 戰後作家 중에서 가장 論亂이 많았던 張龍鶴의 文體의 特徵을 밝히는 것이다. 張龍鶴은 內容面이나 技法面에 있어서 韓國 戰後文學史上 새로운 文學的 旗手라는 점에서 주목받고 있는 作家이다. 本 硏究는 張龍鶴의 작가적 면모와 작품의 文學的 價値, 審美的 效果를 새로운 각도에서 再照明하기 위해 마련되었다. Ⅱ章에서는 1950년대 小說文體의 樣相을 語彙的 文法的 層位, 그리고 새로운 技法의 出現이라는 점에서 考察하였다. 그래서 張龍鶴과의 차이점과 공통점을 밝혀 그의 小說이 '50年代內에서 가지는 特質과 文學史的인 자리매김을 시도해 보았다. Ⅲ章에서는 文體素( style marker )의 最下位 言語單位인 語彙에서부터 統辭, 여러가지 文學的 裝置, 텍스트 전체의 發話狀況에 이르기까지 張龍鶴 小說의 特徵的인 면을 살펴보았다. 그 結果 특별한 형의 語彙와 統語構造의 選擇, 修辭的 技法과 敍述技法의 특이성은 곧 戰爭과 人間實存이라는 主題를 심화시키는 作家의 기획( project )임을 발견하였다. 그리고 이를 통해 관념적이고 아웃사이더적인 作家意識을 밝혀보았다. Ⅳ章에서는 각 作品의 文學性을 드러내는데 중요한 文體的 特質로 作用하고 있는 요소들을 발췌하여 分析함으로써 作品의 意味構造를 밝히는데 주안점을 두었다. 언어적 요소의 組合, 意識의 흐름 技法, 다양한 이미지의 形象化를 통해 文體의 審美的 效果를 달성하고 있을 뿐만 아니라 人間 個人의 實存의 모습을 다각도로 포착하고 있음을 지적하였다. 作家 張龍鶴은 전통적 小說技法을 대담하게 초극하고 새롭고 특이한 文體的 意匠들 ( stylistic devices )로 不條理하고 不合理한 당대의 現實을 뚜렷한 問題意識을 가지고 表出한 作家임이 本 論文을 통해 밝혀질 수 있었다.;A novel as a literary work is an artistic activity realized by language and a writer express his thought and feelings through language. The synthetic study on the contents and forms of literary week can lead to the appropriate way of literary study. In this respect, the stylistics is a useful method on the literary study. In this thesis, recognizing a literary work as a linguistic construction, I tried to investigate how the language operate its artistic function within the text and also the concealed meaning structure. These analyses ate made in relation to the social background the writer belonged to and the world-view and literary view formed by it. The principal aim of this thesis is to make clear the stylistic characteristics of Jang, Yong-Hak, one of the moat debated post-war writers on the basis of Literary method mentioned above. Jang, Yong-Hak is a noteworthy writer in that he was a new literary pioneer not only in the respect of contents but also in the technical aspect in the Korean literary history after 8.15. This thesis aims at enlightening the characteristics of Jang, Yong-Hak and the literary value and the aesthetic effects of his novels. The detailed analyses are made in chapter Ⅲ and Ⅳ. In chapter Ⅱ, general stylistic characteristics of 1950's are examined divided into the lexical level, grammatical level and occurrence of new techniques and I tried to show the differences and similarities between Jang, yong-Hak and the other writers in 1950's to clarify his literary characteristics in 1950's and also his position in the Korean literary history. In chapter Ⅲ, the characteristical aspects of Jang, Yong-Hak's novels are examined from lexical aspect, the lowest level of language of style markers, to sentence structural many kinds of literary devices, and the utterance situation of the whole text. These analyses show that use of special kind of lexis, selection of syntactic structure and the uniqueness of rhetorical devices and narrative techniques deepended the theme on the war and human existence. And through this analyses, the conceptual consciousness of writer as a outsider is investigated. Chapter Ⅳ focused on enlightenning the meaning structure through choosing and analysing various style markers which manifest the literariness of each novels. It can be pointed that Jang, Yong-Hak's novels achieved aesthetic effect of style through combination of linguistic features, technique of stream of consciousness, and formation of various images, and described the condition of human being's existence in may respects. Throughout these analyses, it is clarified that Jang, Yong-Hak is a writer who, boldly rejecting traditional techniques of novel, tried to describe with clear consciousness on the problems the confused and irrational reality of his days, in the means of fresh and unique stylistic devices.
