서사민요 연구

Abstract

본 논문은 서사민요의 양식적인 특성과 미적 기능을 밝히는 것을 목적으로 한 연구이다. 논의는 다음과 같이 전개되었다. Ⅱ장에서는 그간 자료집이나 연구서를 통해서 사용된 서사민요의 개념들을 살펴보고 그 개념을 재정리하였다. 또한 서사민요로서 대표성을 지니고 있는 여성서사민요의 위치를 설명하였다. 서사민요 자료의 대부분은 밭매기나 길쌈 노동과 관련된 여성들의 노동요에서 발견되었으며 이 여성노동요들속에 행동의 시작과 중간, 결과가 있는 서사민요들이 다수 존재하고 있었다. 아울러 그동안 출간된 몇 몇 중요 자료집을 통해서 여성서사민요의 자료양상을 정리하고 그 존재양상을 살펴보았다. Ⅲ장에서는 서사민요가 일반 서사물과 달리 지니고 있는 서사적인 특징들을 고찰해 보았다. 서사민요는 비극적인 결말구조를 지니고 있으며 인물설정에 있어 단순화된 양상을 보이고 있었다. 이야기를 진행시켜나가는 방식은 주로 등장 인물의 독백을 통해서였다. 서사민요는 교훈 이전의 삶의 절박한 문제를 소재로 삼고 있기 때문에 교훈성에 대해서는 무관심한 면모를 보이고 있었다. Ⅳ장에서는 서사적인 특징들이 수반하는 서사민요의 구성원의 특징들을 살펴보았다. 서사민요는 사건 전개상 비약이 자주 발견되고 있는데 이는 정황을 중심으로 사건을 진행해 나가고 있기 때문이다. 서사민요는 반복과 병렬에 의한 서술로 장면의 확대 현상을 수반하고 있었다. 이 장면의 확대는 감정의 토로나 심리적 정황의 표출로 이루어지고 있었다. 이러한 사건비약이나 장면의 확대는 서사민요가 지니는 감정의 지속적 환기에 기여하고 있다. Ⅴ장에서는 Ⅲ장과 Ⅳ장을 통해서 드러난 특징들을 중심으로 서사민요의 양식적인 특성이 서사적인 골격과 함께 공존하고 있는 서정적인 성격에 기인하는 것이라는 사실을 증명하고 서사민요는 서사성과 서정성이 공존하는 언어예술로서의 특성을 지닌다는 사실을 살펴보았다. 서사민요는 여성이라는 동질성이 보장되는 향유집단내에서 불안정한 사회적 존재였던 여성들의 심리적 억압을 해소하는 정서적인 분출구로서의 기능을 담당하고 있었다. 서사민요의 양식적 특성의 문제는 서사적 골격이 있는 모든 민요에 적용될 수 있는 문제이다. 이러한 특성을 지닌 언어예술이 정서적 분출구를 필요로 하는 향유층에 의해 불려졌을 때 서사민요와 유사한 미적 기능을 수반하게 될 것이라고 할 수 있다.;This treatise aims at clarifing the aesthetic funtion and modal characteristics of narrative folk songs. The discussion is e패lved as follows. In chapter 2 , the concept of narrative folk songs, which has been used in previos journals and studies, is discussed and then rearranged with its result. Simultaneously, the status of feminine-narrative folk songs which are thought to represent the narrative folk songs is explained. Most materials of narrative folk songs are found in women's turk songs-especially when they are weaving and weeding. In these women's work song, there are lots of narrative folk songs, which have the begin, the middle, and the result. Also, Researching the previously published important studies, this treatise arranges the aspect of materials and examines the aspect of existence. In chapter 3, the narrative charateristics of narrative folk songs which are seldom found in common narrative literature are considered. Narrative folk songs commonly have tragic finale and show simple aspect at creating character. The way, the story developed, mainly depend on character's soliloquy. Because the narrative folk songs lay emphasis on life's imminent problem rather than a lesson, consequently they show a tendency to to ignore the edification. In chapter 4, the Constitutional charateristics of narrative folk songs which are concomitant with narrative charateristics are explained. Advancing the events with the situation, the narrative folk songs could be found lots of leaps in developing them. Narrative folk songs accompany the expanding phenomenon of scene by using repetition and parallelism. This expansion of scene consists of the expression of emotion and the revelation of psychological situation. The leap in situation and the expansion of scene help the narrative folk song continuously rouse the emotion. In chapter 5, with the characteristics which are defind through chapter 3 and 4 based on, it is verified that the aspetual charateristics of narrative folk song have the roots in its lyrical charateristic which coexist with the narrative structure of it and that as a linguistic art narrative folk song have both narrative and lyrical charateristics. As unstable members in society, women need a emotional emmission through which they could release their psychological oppressions only in their own group in which their identity can be guaranteed. And the narrative folk songs satisfy this kind of women's desire. The prblem of aspectual charateristic of the narrative folk songs could apply to every folk song having narrative structure. When the linguistic art with this kind of charateristic is sung by the group which need a emotional emmission, it will perform similarly aesthetic funtion with the narrative folk songs.
