대학도서관의 학부도서실제도에 관한 연구

Abstract

최근 학부 학생의 격증과 교수방법의 변화로 인한 자율적인 학습 방법이 권장됨에 따라 학부학생들의 도서관에 대한 요구가 크게 증가되고 있는 시점에서 학부학생을 위한 자료와 봉사를 한 곳에서 제공할 수 있도록 학부학생전용도서실을 마련하는 제도가 바람직하다. 따라서 본 논문은 학부도서실의 중요성을 인지하여, 외국의 학부도서실제도를 고찰하고 우리나라 학부도서실의 현황을 연구조사함으로써, 학부학생들의 요구를 충족시킬 수 있는 방안을 모색하였다. 1981학년도 현재 33개 종합대학을 대상으로, 질문지법과 면담방법을 병용하여 학부도서실의 현황을 조사 분석한 결과 나타난 문제점을 중심으로 다음과 같은 효과적인 운영방안을 제시한다. 1. 학부도서실의 형태는 중앙도서관내에 설치하는 것이 바람직하다. 2. 중앙도서관내에서 학부도서실의 위치는 입주에서 가까운 곳이 바람직하다. 3. 개가제를 채택하되, 서가를 중심부에 두고 열람석을 측면에 배치하는 것이 바람직하다. 4. 장서는 소규모로 출발하여 점차적으로 확충시켜 나가는 방법이 바람직하다. 5. 장서는 모든 주제분야의 가장 훌륭한 자료로서 교과과정에 관련된 필독도서와 보충도서 및 교양도서를 포함하여야 한다. 6. 교수진을 도서선정에 참여시키는 것이 바람직하다. 7. 장서는 필독도서라 교양도서로 구분하며, 필독도서는 시간제대출과 밤새대출을, 교양도서는 관외대출을 허용하는 것이 바람직하다. 8. 개관시간은 학부학생의 수업시간을 충분히 고려하여 수업 종료 후 상당 시간까지 개관하여야 한다. 9. 직원은 전문직과 비전문직을 충분히 확보하여야 한다. 10. 학부도서실의 장서는 도서관 전체 자료 중에서 우선 구입되도록 충분한 예산이 별도로 책정되어야 한다.;In recent years a tremendous increase in enrollment of the undergraduate students and a shift in university education pro-gram and teaching methods have greatly urged demands upon the library service to the undergraduate. Since university library service and access to the library resources are oriented for the graduates and faculty members, it is quite desirable to provide a separate, selected to the easily accessible collection of books that will appeal to the undergraduate. This study has attempted to recognize importance of the undergraduate library to speculate the undergraduate library system in order to provide better service to its users. A Survey of 33 university libraries were undertaken from March 23 to April 24, 1981 by means of questionnaires and interviews. To provide a more efficient and satisfactory service to the undergraduate, the result of the survey can be proposed as follows: 1. It is desirable to locate the undergraduate library within the main university library building near the entrance and to set aside separate collections for the undergraduate. 2. Book collection of the undergraduate library should be placed on the open shelves where they are accessible to undergraduate students. 3. The Arrangement of books in the center of the floor with seating on either side has been favored arrangement. 4. The Undergraduate library collection must be highly selective beginning with small collection. It must be flexible； to meet the needs of changing undergraduate curricula and teaching method. 5. The Undergraduate library collection should contain course-related required books, collateral books and a basic liberal arts core of books. 6. Faculty members should take part in undergraduate library book selection. The Success of an undergraduate library has a direct relationship to faculty interest. 7. In-building use is desirable for required reading books, but basic liberal arts of books should be issued for home use. 8. Openning hours of the undergraduate library should be flexible according to the class work. 9. Plan for a sufficient numbers of staff, both professional and non-professional is necessary. 10. Budget for undergraduate library materials should be enforced.
