崔顯傳의 二重的 人物關係硏究

Abstract

본 논문은 고대소설 「崔顯傳」에 관한 연구이다. 「최현전」은 전형적인 영웅소설의 구조를 갖추고 있으면서 그 안에 복잡한 인간관계를 설정하고 있는 것이 특징이라 할 수 있다. 본 논문의 주된 관심은 「최현전」에 나타난 二重的 人物關係의 양상과 그 의미를 밝혀 작품의 성격을 드러내는 데 있다. 2장에서는 「최현전」의 書誌的 문제를 다루었다. 이본의 종류를 제시하고 이본의 내용을 대비.검토하여 이화여자대학교 중앙도서관 소장본을 연구대상으로 선정하였다. 이어 작품의 서사구조를 살펴 보고 작품의 구성원리로 인물의 상호관계를 추출했다. 3장에서는 인물창조의 방법과 인물구성의 원리를 살펴 보았다.고대소설의 인물이 주로 외형묘사에 치중하여 관념적으로 창조되는데 비해 「최현전」에서는 인물의 相互관계를 통해 인물자신의 성격을 드러내고 있다. 인물의 상호관계는 '대립과 복수' '고난과 원조' '施惠와 報恩'의 세 가지 양상으로 나타나는데 그 결과 '은인=원수'라는 이중적 인물관계가 그 특성으로 드러났다. 4장에서는 설화와 고대소설에 나타나는 이중적 인물관계의 제 양상을 살피고 이것을 「최현전」의 이중적 인물관계와 대비하였다. 그 결과 설화에서는 가족관계내에서의 이중관계를, 다른 고대소설에서는 체면, 이익을 중시하는 '개인의 성향'이나 '주변 인물과의 관계'에서 발생되는 이중관계를 표출하는데 비해, 「최현전」에서는 '상황'에 따라 달라지는 인간의 二重性과 복잡한 인간관계 때문에 인물의 이중관계가 맺어지고 있었다. 5장에서는 3,4장에서 살펴본 내용을 토대로 하여 인물을 통해 나타난 작품의 성격을 고찰했다. 첫째, 人間性의 多面性에 대한 인식 둘째, 인간관계의 복잡성에 대한 인식 세째, 가족중심적 사고와 행동이 성격으로 나타났다. 이 작품은 家族利己主義라는 한계를 지니고 있지만 인간을 고정된 하나의 가치로만 판단하지 않고 인간의 다면성을 이해했다는 점에서 인간에 대한 인식의 지평을 넓혀주고 있다.;This thesis is a study reffering to the ancient novel entitled CHOI HYUH JEON(최현전). CHOI HYUN JEON is appeared to constitute a characteristic feature, as it creates complicated human relations among the structure of typically heroic novel. The primary concern of this particular novel is in revealing the peculiarity of the work based on duplex personal Character relation that is appeared in CHOI HYUN JEON. In the Chapter Ⅱ, a series of bibliographical issues of CHOI HYUN JEON were treated. By presenting the kinds of this similar version as well as conducting a contrastive review on the contents of the version, a selection was made from the books preserved in the Central Library of Ewha Womans University. Following these procedures, the constructive principle of the work, namely, the correlation of the character was extracted. In the Chapter Ⅲ, an attempt was made on examining the method of creating the personal figure and the Principle of constructing personal figures. While the personal figures of ancient novel were ideologically created because of attaching mainly its weight on the description of external form, the character of oneself was uncovered through the interrelationship of personal figures in the CHOI HYUN JEON. As the result of examining by dividing the interrelationship of personal figure into the three kinds of aspects, namely, "confrontation and revengea", "suffering and assistance", and "renderring benevolence and requital of a favor", a "duplex personal character relation" named " a benefactor = a foe" was abstracted as its distinguishing feature. In the Chapter Ⅳ, through observing various aspects of double personal character relation appeared in narratives and ancient novels, these elements were made to contrast with the dual personal character relation of CHOI HYUN JEON. As the result, it was revealed that the duplex personal character relation appeared in CHOI HYUH JEON was due to the doubleness of human being and an intricate human relationship. In the Chapter Ⅴ, on the basis of having reviewed the contents in the foregoing Chapter Ⅲ and Chapter Ⅳ, an observation was made on the characteristic of the appeared through personal figure. Therefore, conclusion was reached as follows. Firstly, an undersyanding (or an appreciation) towards polyhedric peculiarities of human being, secondly, an understanding on the complexity of human relationship, and thirdly, it is revealed to be the thought and behavior as laying an emphasis on family. As a result, this particular novel did not only judge the human as within the fixed frame even in the limits of family egoism but it turned out to have accepted the polyhedric charateristics of human being through broad aspects of understanding.
