가야금 독주곡〈하마단〉의 분석적 연구

Abstract

본 논문은 황병기의 최근 작품인 <하마단>의 음악적 구조를 고찰하여, 그 음악적 특징을 밝히고자 함을 목적으로 한다. <하마단>의 선율구성 및 리듬 등을 분석하여 악장별로 다음과 같은 결론을 얻었다. 제1악장은 중모리로 선율적인 면이 강조되었으며 박자의 변화 및 중심음의 변화에 따라 A-B-A'의 3부분으로 구분된다. 옥타브 도약을 많이 사용해 음역의 확장과 함께 주요 선율의 변형, 확장이 이루어졌으며, A부분은 b음과 e음, B부분은 g음과 b음, A'부분은 e음과 b음을 중심으로 선율이 진행된다. 리듬은 4분음, 8분음, 16분음의 리듬이 주가 되며, 각 마디는 6박자씩 두 부분으로 나뉘고 6박자의 두 부분은 또다시 3박자의 두 부분으로 나누어 볼 수 있다. 한마디는 3박자로 이루어진 리듬형이 각각의 박자에 따라 2개 혹은 4개씩 조합하여 구성되는 형식으로 이루어져있다. 제2악장은 자진모리풍으로서 한 손으로 동일한 음이나 화성을 반복적으로 연주하면서 다른 한 손으로는 주요 선율을 연주하는 이중선율구조가 나타나는 것이 특징이다. 각각 12/8박자의 단선율로 시작해 진행하다 6/4박자의 ♩♬♪♪♪♪♪♪♪♪의 리듬형을 가진 화음으로 마무리되는 A-B-C 세 부분으로 구성된다. A-B-C의 세 부분은 모두 e음과 b음을 중심음으로 가지며 제 1악장과 마찬가지로 옥타브 도약을 사용함으로써 음형 확장과 선율 진행에 변화를 주었다. 또한 제2악장은 매우 다양한 박자가 사용되었는데 같은 박자 안에서 같은 싯가를 가진 리듬형이라 해도 2분박과 3분박의 조합의 차이로 인해 미묘한 변화를 보이며 매우 다양한 리듬형태가 표현된다. 제3악장은 휘모리풍으로 트레몰로 주법이 많이 사용된 화려한 악장으로 왼손 연주부분의 패턴과 음형의 변형에 따라 A, A', A"의 세 부분으로 나눌 수 있다. A부분은 중심음에 따라 악절을 구분하고 A'부분과 A"부분은 주요 선율의 음형에 따라 악절을 구분했다. 제3악장은 e-b의 5도 음정의 화음이 주가 되며 A부분의 중심음은 b음에서 e음으로, 다시 b음으로 변화되어 나타나며 A'부분의 중심음은 b음에서 e음으로 진행하며, A"부분의 중심음은 e음으로 나타난다. 제3악장은 제2악장보다도 더욱 다양한 박자가 사용되었으며 리듬형은 오른손으로 연주하는 부분과 왼손으로 연주하는 부분으로 나누어 볼 수 있다. 오른손 연주부분은 16분음표를 이용한 리듬이, 왼손 연주부분은 정 4분음표를 이용한 리듬이 주로 사용되었다. <하마단>은 제1악장에서 제3악장으로 갈수록 단선율에서 화성으로 음들이 첨가되고, 빠르기도 빨라지며 곡 전체가 화려해지고 있다. 이 곡의 세 개의 악장은 하나의 모티브 속에서 일관성 있고 통일성 있게 전개되는 가운데 나름대로의 독특한 특징(박자의 변화, 리듬형과 음형의 변화등)을 가지고 있어 통일성 안에 내재되어 있는 다양성 또한 엿볼 수 있다.;This paper is aimed at identifying the musical characteristics of <Hamadan>, one of Hwang Byoung-Gi’s recent works by examining its musical structure. The result of analysing the melody structure and rhythm of <Hamadan> is as follows. The first movement emphasizes melody part, and it is divided into A-B-A' according to the change of beat and key note. In this movement, the leap of an octave is often used with the expansion of musical range and the change an expansion of melody. A part is progressed mainly with b and e, B with g and b, and A' is with e and b. Rhythm is mainly composed of that of an eighth note and an sixteenth note. Each tume is divided into two of six time, and the two parts are divided once again into two of triple time. A tune is made up of two or three of triple time rhythm according to each time. The second movement shows a dual melody structure that performs the same notes or harmony with one hand and plays the main melody with the other hand. Starting with a single melody of 12/8 time, the second movement is composed of A-B-C that finished with ♩♪♪♪♪♪♪♪♪ of 6-4 time A-B-C parts have e and b as key notes, and give the expansion of music type and the progress of melody by using the leap of an octave. Also, the movement uses various beats, and it expresses diverse rhythm forms with delicate changes because of differences of binary and triple times. The third movement is splendid with Hwimory and Tremolo often used. and it is divided into A-A'-A". Part A tells musical phrases according to the key note, and part A' an A" according to the transformation of patterns and music forms in the left hand play. The third movement goes mainly with e-b 5 degree note, and the main note in part A changes from b to e and to b again. The key note of A' progresses from b to e, and the key note of A" is e. The third movement uses more various beats then the second, and rhythm forms are divided into the left and right hand parts. The right hand part rhythm mainly uses a sixteenth note, and the left hand a fourth note. <Hamadan> changes from a singly melody to harmony with notes added as it progresses from the first movement to the third, and the piece generally becomes fast and splendid. The three movements of this piece develops consistently within one motive, and we can find diversity included in unity with unique characteristics(Changes of beat, rhythm and musical form).
