C. Franck의 Violin Sonata in A Major의 연구 분석

Abstract

세자르 프랑크(Cesar Auguste Franck, 1822~1890)는 후기 낭만주의시대에 활동하던 프랑스 작곡가로서 교향곡이나 실내악곡과 같은 순수 기악음악을 발전시키는데 큰 공헌을 하였다. 본 논문은 필자의 석사과정 이수를 위한 졸업 연주회에서 연주한 작품들 중 하나인 프랑크의 바이올린 소나타 A 장조를 연구한 것으로 작곡가의 생애와 음악, 작품의 특징과 분석을 통하여 이를 연주하는데 도움을 주기 위한 것을 목적으로 한다. 프랑크의 유일한 소나타인 이 작품에서는 작곡자만의 독특하고 다양한 작곡 기법들이 잘 나타나 있다. 4 악장으로 구성되어 있으며 순환 형식을 사용하고 있는데 이 곡에서 사용되는 다양한 주제들은 모두 3 개의 짧은 순환 동기로부터 유래되어 각 악장간에 통일성을 준다. 조성구조는 단순한 5 도의 구조가 아닌 3 도 관계조의 형태를 취하는데 후기 낭만주의의 작품답게 색채적인 화성과 과감한 전조를 사용한다. 이 곡은 소나타 형식이라는 고전적인 형식과 낭만적인 음악기법을 결합한 후기 낭만주의 시대의 대표적 실내악곡이라고 할 수 있다.;Cesar Franck(1822∼1890) is a French composer in the late Romanticism who made a great contribution towards symphony and chamber music. This thesis is about Franck violin sonata in A Major which was one of pieces played at my graduation concert for master degree. It aims at investigating the composer’s life, the background, musical characteristics, and the work itself to approach his intention for performance. The piece, the single sonata by him, shows his unique and various composing techniques. Cyclic form and four movements organize it. And short three cyclic motives lead diverse themes throughout the whole work and they unify each of movements. The modulation is achieved by the third relatives more than mere fifth. Thus it proves his tendency of colorful harmony and resolute modulation which defines the late Romanticism.
