추상형태의 공간적 표현

Abstract

The fine arts of the 20th century has gradually tended to be transformed into the abstract fine arts liberated from the naturalistic principle of fine arts dominant till the 19th century. This tendency of the modern fine arts is to express the absolute beauty only with the purely formative elements by one's inner inevitability far form naturalistic copy of objects. The dyeing arts as the formative arts also is expressed under the same circumstances. Then, I have purposed to express infinite space achieved by man's inner inevitability. Accordingly, establishing the subject of "Abstractive Expression of Space," I have studied the theoretical backgrounds of man and expression, objects of expression, and abstract expression. Through the study and the actual production of works I have obtained the results as follows : First, when expressed only with colors and forms by the inner inevitability, the spacial expression made possible the more autonomous, the purer, and the more essential in expression. Second, the dyeing expression of space could create its unique effect and characteristic stuff impression which we could not appreciate in other fields of formative arts. Third, in the process of producing the works, there were the technical problems, although the practical use of possibility of expressing a new world of formation. fourth, the effects of decolorization and blotting on the intended parts of textiles, if left as it was, still decolorized other parts, made it difficult to restore to their former condition, and furthermore, possibly damaged textiles. Consequently, it is necessary for us to improve the more effective techniques. And yet, the unexpected forms produced by the very effect of blotting brought forth a soft and cosy atmosphere. In the light of these results it is found that a work of the dyeing arts as the formative arts has infinite potentials as far as an artist would be true to his own will of creation for his work. In conclusion, it should be done to make the more use of the meritorious functions peculiar to the dyeing arts and to explore its pragmatic area.;19세기까지의 자연주의적 회화관에서 20세기 이후의 미술은 점차로 추상미술로 변모하여 갔다. 이러한 현대미술의 경향은 自然의 재현에서 점차로 대상을 떠나 내적 필연성에 의하여 순수 조형요소 만으로 절대미를 표현하고 있다. 조형예술로서 염색 역시 이러한 현상으로 표현되고 있다. 연구자는 이러한 인간의 내적 충동에 의해 이루어지는 무한한 공간표현을 목적으로 하고 있다. 따라서 '추상 형태의 공간적 표현'이라는 주제를 설정하고 인간과 표현, 표현대상, 추상적 표현 등에 관한 이론적 배경을 고찰하고 실제 작품제작을 통하여 얻은 결과는 다음과 같다. 1. 내적 필연성에 의해 色彩와 形態만을 통하여 표현한 공간표현은 더 자율적이고 순수하며 본질적인 표현을 가능케 해 주었다. 2. 탈색 염색에 의한 공간표현은 다른 조형 분야에서는 느끼지 못하는 특유의 효과와 질감을 줄 수 있었다. 3. 제작과정에서 다양한 재료와 기법등의 활용으로 새로운 작품제작에 가능성을 보여 주었지만 기법상에 문제점이 없지 않았다. (원의 형태를 표현하려 할 때 바탕의 형태가 없어져 반복해야 하는 번거로움이 있다.) 4. 탈색 번지기의 효과는 그대로 방치해 두는 경우엔 염색한 다른 부분까지 탈색이 되어 수정하기에 곤란하였고 섬유가 상할 우려가 있어 좀더 효과적인 방법 개발이 필요하다. 하지만 번지기 효과에서 오는 예기치 못한 形態는 포근한 분위기를 주는 효과를 주고 있다. 이러한 결과로 보아 조형예술로서 염색작품은 작가의 창조의지에 따라 무한한 가능성을 지니고 있고 염색이 지닌 특유의 기능을 살려 실용적인 면이 연구되어져야 할 것 같다.
