經濟學分野硏究者들의 情報要求와 利用에 關한 硏究

Abstract

In order to satisfy users' need to the utmost, library and information center, first of all, should acknowledge users' information need and behavior of information use. Therefore, this study intends to investigate the information need and use of the social scientists especially those of economic researchers so that it may find out general trend and furthermore may contribute to the development of information service in the library and information center in the field of economics. To achieve above mentioned purposes, questionnaires were sent to the researchers in universities, research institutes and government. Total 314 questionnaires were distributed, of which 229 (72.9 percent) returned. The results of the study are as followings: 1) The physical forms of information source used by the economic researchers are journals, monographs as well as statistics, data, research reports and government publications. 2) In locating reference for primary research interest, the sources mainly used are bibliographies or references in books or journals. Indexing and abstracting journals are not frequently used. 3) In order to keep up with current developments, journals, content sheets, research reports etc. are mainly used. 4) Most researchers have experienced difficulties in obtaining necessary informations. 5) In acquiring necessary materials, the library in one's own organization is mainly used and then private collections are used. 6) The average number of journals scanned is 6. 7, and the number of journals privately subscribed (including gift) 2.1. 7) Older journals are also used as well as current ones. 8) The dependence on foreign literature especially that of American literature is high. 9) At present, 42 percent of respondents uses library infrequently because of the lack of time and the shortage of necessary materials. 10) They require primarily that the library in their own organization should expand its collections in their own field, and demand that the individual library should provide active services for the rapid acquisition and supply of necessary materials.;圖書館과 情報센터는 利用者 要求를 최대한 만족시키기 위해서 무엇보다도 먼저 利用者의 情報要求와 情報利用 行熊를 알아야한다. 이에 본 論文은 社會科學중에서 經濟學分野 硏究者들의 情報要求와 利用狀況을 調査하여, 그들의 일반적인 傾向을 把握하고 나아가 經濟學分野 圖書館과 情報센터 등에서 情報서어비스를 向上시키는데 기여하고자 한다. 이런 目的을 달성하기 위하여 大學, 硏究機關, 政府機關에서 經濟學 硏究者를 대상으로 設問紙를 사용하여 經濟學分野 硏究者들의 情報要求와 利用行態를 把握하였으며, 배포된 設問紙는 총 314부이고 회수된 設問紙數는 229부로 72.9%의 回收率을 보였다. 硏究結果는 다음과 같다. 1) 經濟學分野 硏究者들이 利用하는 硏究資料의 形態는 學術雜誌, 單行本 외에도 統計·데이타集, 硏究報告書, 政府刊行物을 利用하고 있다. 2) 文獻探索을 위해 學術雜誌나 單行本에 부기된 參考文獻을 주로 利用하며 索引·抄錄誌의 利用은 저조하다. 3) 最新情報 追跡을 위해서는 學術雜誌, 學術雜誌 目次速報, 硏究報告書 등을 주로 利用한다. 4) 대부분 硏究者들은 必要한 情報를 入手하는데 어려움을 느끼고 있으며, 이에 따라 硏究를 충실히 逐行하지 못하는 경우가 많다. 5) 필요한 資料는 주로 所屬機關의 圖書館(室)을 통해서 入手하거나 개인소장자료를 利用한다. 6) 定期的으로 읽는 學術雜誌는 6.7種이며, 이중 개인적으로 구독(기증포함)하는 學術雜誌 種數는 2.1種이다. 7) 비교적 오래된 學術雜誌도 利用하고 있다. 8) 外國文獻 특히 美國文獻의 依存度가 높다. 9) 현재 圖書館利用 頻度에 대해 42%가 부족하다고 느끼고 있으며, 그 이유로는 時間이 부족하거나 또는 圖書館에 利用할 資料가 미흡하다는 것을 들고 있다. 10) 所屬機關의 圖書館에 대해서 전공분야 文獻의 확충을 가장 많이 要求하며, 필요한 자료가 없는 경우 이를 迅速히 入手하여 提供하는 서어비스를 대단히 바라고 있다. 이상과 같은 經濟學分野 硏究者들의 일반적인 傾向을 통하여 圖書館(室)들이 利用者를 위해 改善하여야 할 몇 가지 事實을 알게되어 다음과 같이 提言한다. 1) 經濟學分野 硏究者들은 統計·데이타集, 政府刊行物, 硏究報告書를 많이 利用하므로 이들 資料의 체계적인 확충에 노력해야 한다. 2) 索引誌, 抄錄誌등의 2차자료에 대한 利用이 효과적으로 遂行될 수 있도록 전문 索引誌, 抄錄誌의 구입과 더불어 이들 자료利用에 대한 敎育이 필요하다. 3) 오래된 資料의 缺號의 보충에 노력해야 한다. 4) 外國文獻을 迅速히 入手하여 提供하여야겠다. 5) 經濟學 主題背景을 지닌 專門司書에 의한 적극적인 봉사를 提供하여야겠다. 6) 資料를 효율적으로 利用할 수 있도록 相互協力體制가 마련되어야 하겠다.
