온라인 시스템(On-line system)의 효율성에 관한 연구

Abstract

이 논문은 VAX-11/780 온라인(on-line)시스템의 효율성 (efficiency)에 관한 연구이다. 여기서 효율성이란, 사용자수가 최대화되는 동시에 빠른 응답시간(response time)을 얻는 것을 말한다. 이 논문에서는 응답시간의 향상을 위해 작업의 성질에 따라 기본우선순위 (base priority)를 재조정하는 프로시듀어 (procedure)를 제시하였고, 이를 작업이 혼잡을 이루는 시간에 적용해 보았다. 그 결과, 평균응답시간의 현저한 향상을 볼 수 있었다.;This article is a study on the efficiency of VAX-11/780 on-line system. The efficiency means here that the number of users is maximized and the users get a rapid response time at the same time. This article presents the procedure which reassigns base priority according to the characteristic of jobs. And the Procedure was tested when jobs were complicated. This wort was devised in order to improve response time. The results obtained suggest that the procedure may be desirable to VAX-11/780 System.
