G. Carissimi의 Oratorio "Jephte"에 관한 분석 연구

Abstract

초기 바로크 시대의 이태리 작곡가 G. Carissimi (1605∼1674)는 평생토록 교회에서 작곡 활동을 한 관계로 미사나 모테트 등의 작품도 많으나 oratorio 작곡에 주력하여 그 이전까지와는 다른 oratorio의 음악적 특성을 창조하므로서 근대적 oratorio의 시조가 되었다. 이에 Carissini의 oratorio가 음악사에 미치는 영향과 그 중요성이 인식되므로 본 논문에서는 Carissimi의 대표적인 Oratorio, "Jephte"의 분석을 통하여 그의 oratorio에 관하여 연구하였다. "Jephte"의 분석에 앞서 Carissimi 이전의 oratorio 성립의 역사 및 Carissini oratorio의 일반적 특성에 관하여 살펴보았으며, 작품의 분석에서는 형식구성, 주요 Motive 전개 방법, 조성과 화성의 구성, 합창의 기능 변화 및 가사와 음악과의 관련 등을 중심으로 분석 하였다. 분석 결과 이 곡은 전·후반부로 구성되었으며, 선율에 있어서는 주요 Motive가 순환적 진행 (Cyclic form)의 구성으로 곡의 통일성과 진행감을 느끼게 하였다. 조성은 5도권 내에서 움직이는 G→C→F, e→a→d의 조성이 중심이 되었고, 장·단조의 조성을 전·후반부에 대비시켜 극을 효과적으로 구성하였다. 화성은 반음계적 진행과 감7도 화음의 연속 진행, 전위 화음과 비화성음이 사용되었다. 특히 이 곡의 구성에서 중요한 전개 기술로, 가사와 음악을 결부시킨 word painting을 들 수 있으며 historicus(해설자)의 역할을 다양하게 나누어 변화를 주었다. 그리고 합창의 기능을 확대시켜 중시하는 등 이 곡은 Carissimi가 확립한 oratorio의 음악적 창작성을 토대로 작곡되었음을 알 수 있다.;The Italian composer G. Carissimi (1605-1674), the beginning of the Baroque Ages had written in a church in his lifetime. Thus his works are masses and motes. And besides he was engaged in writing oratorio but he created the music characteristic of oratorio which was different from the times'. And he was the father of modern oratorio. Carissimi's oratorio has greatly contributed to the music history, with the significance of Carissimi's oratorio, the Author has studied Carissimi's oratorio centered on "'Jephte". To begin with, the oratorio history and the general characteristic of Carissimi's oratorio are treated. In the analysis of the work "Jephte", formal structure, and the development method of main motive, and the structures of tonality and harmony, and the functional change of chorus and the connection of music with ode are analyzed. In the last analysis "Jephte" is composed in two acts, and the cyclic form in the main motive for the melody structure give unity and moving effect. Tonality moves mainly within G→ C→ F, e→ a→ d, and the work is effectively composed by making a comparison of major and minor tonality in the first and the latter half of the work. For harmony are served chromatic scale progression, the sequence progression of chord of diminished seventh, inverted chord, and nonharmonic notes. In particular the word painting is worth noticing by linking of mucis with ode in the development technique of the work. And for the role of historicus, Alto, Bass, Solo, and a mixed chorus in four parts are variously served. We can understand that this work was composed with Carissimi's music talent for the funciton of chorus is expanded.
