César Franck 의 Violin Sonata in A Major에 관한 분석 연구

Abstract

본 논문은 필자의 석사 과정 이수를 위한 졸업 연주곡목 중 프랑크의 바이올린 소나타에 관한 연구이다. 프랑크(César Franck)는 후기 낭만 시대에 순수 기악 음악을 발전시킨 프랑스의 대표적인 작곡가로서 독일 음악과 프랑스 음악을 연결하였고 고전 음악 양식과 낭만 음악적 요소를 합한 음악을 보여주었다. 그의 음악의 기본 이념은 고전적인 흐름 속에 구축되어 있긴 하나 변하기 쉬운 화성이나 급작스런 전조, 구성상의 자유로운 시도에 있어서는 낭만주의적이었으며, 반음계적 선율과 순환 형식에 의한 주제 배치가 음악적 특징으로 나타난다. 프랑크의 유일한 소나타인 이 작품에서는 작곡자만의 독특하고 다양한 작곡 기법들이 잘 나타나 있다. 4악장으로 구성되어 있으며, 순환 형식을 사용하고 있는데 각 악장의 주제는 3개의 순환동기를 통해 유기적으로 반복, 결합, 변형되어 악장 간에 통일성을 준다. 조성구조는 단순한 5도 구조가 아닌 3도 관계조의 형태를 취하며 후기 낭만주의의 작품답게 색채적인 화성과 과감한 전조를 사용한다. 본 논문에서는 곡의 이해를 돕기 위해 프랑크의 생애와 음악에 대한 이론적 연구를 바탕으로 하여 그의 대표작인 Violin Sonata in A Major를 분석, 연구하였다.;César Franck is a representative composer of France in the post romantic period. In his music, the characteristics of German and French music are combined and classical and romanticism also. His music is based on classical music, however it also has romantic characteristics. Considering construction, we can recognize that harmony, modulation make his music romantic. In addition, chromatic and cyclic form are significant characteristics of his music. The sonata is the one and only work and shows the compositional technique of his own. This sonata consist of four movements and uses cyclic form. The themes of each movement are repeated, combined and changed though three circulation motive. Therefore, the sonata obtains an unity all through the movements. Moreover, tonality of this sonata is third relationship instead of simple fifth relationship and chromatic harmony and rapidly changing key are used like other works of the post romantic period.
