Xavier Montsalvatge의 「Sonatine pour Yvette」 연구

Abstract

본 논문은 20세기 전반에 걸쳐 활동한 스페인의 작곡가 자비에르 몬살밧찌 (Xavier Montsalvatge 1912-2002)의 「Yvette를 위한 소나티네」(Sonatine pour Yvette)에 관한 분석 연구이다. 연구의 목적은 20세기 전반에 걸쳐 작곡가와 비평가 그리고 교육자였던 몬살밧찌에게 영향을 끼친 스페인의 민족주의와 이전의 스페인 작곡가들 그리고 그의 생애와 음악적 특징을 고찰함으로써 아직 잘 알려지지 않은 그의 음악 작품들을 잘 이해하기 위함이다. 그의 피아노 작품 중 가장 중요한 위치를 차지하는 「Sonatine pour Yvette」의 1악장 ‘Vivo e spiritoso'은 대립하는 2개의 주제로 왼손과 오른손에 각각 조성적인 선율과 반음계적 선율을 동시에 보이며 스페인 카탈루냐 민속 선율의 전통을 나타낸다. 2악장 'Moderato molto'은 스페인 전통음악에서 지배적으로 사용되는 E선법 안에서의 선율에 안달루시아에서 유래한 플라멩코의 성악적인 선율인 '칸테 혼도(Cante hondo)'의 영향을 받은 강한 꾸밈음을 사용하였다. 또한 스페인 음악의 특징인 기타 주법을 모방한 짧은 동기들도 나타난다. 스페인의 식민지였던 서인도 제도의 전통리듬에서 영향을 받은 3악장의 전주부분과 곡 전반에 나타나는 단순한 프랑스 민요선율의 차용은 간단한 소재를 가지고 복잡한 리듬과 화성으로 발전시키는 그의 기법적인 특징을 잘 나타낸다. 몬살밧찌의 「Sonatine pour Yvette」는 이처럼 전반적으로 스페인의 민속적인 요소 - E선법의 조성, 칸테 혼도에서 나온 선율의 사용, 스페인 기타 주법의 모방 - 들을 단순한 주제 동기들과 함께 20세기 음악 기법으로 잘 융합한 대표적인 피아노 작품으로써 그의 음악적인 특징이 잘 나타나 있다. 민속적인 전통 기법과 현대음악어법의 절충적인 사용을 보여준 몬살밧찌의 작품들은 연주용으로도 효과적인 곡이다.; This thesis is designed to analyze the 'Sonatine pour Yvette' of Xavier Montsalvatge that is performed for winter's graduate recital. The purpose of this study is to investigate the contemporary and musical consequences which have influences on the work of Montsalvatge, who was working as a composer, critic, and educator through the first half of the 20th century. In addition, it will help to understand an perform by dealing with the characteristic of his works and analysis about the melody, harmony, rhythm and form. Montsalvatge empathized the tradition of Spain nationalism and folklike factors which came from several islands in West India, colony of Spain, and simultaneous utilizes the technique of twentieth century. This thesis studies focused on the life of Montsalvatge and musical background forming the foundation of his works and polytonality, dissonant extended chords, and chromatically-moving triads through the analysis about <Sonatine pour Yvette>, one of the critical work.
