새로운 하나님 상징을 찾아서

Abstract

하나님 상징은 그것을 경험하는 자에게 다양하고 풍부한 의미를 제공해 주어야 하며, 이를 통해 삶에 대한 해석과 통찰이 가능하게 해야 한다. 그러나 남성적이고 초월적인 전통적 하나님 상징은 그것을 경험하는 주체들에게 고통과 분열을 주기 때문에 새로운 하나님 상징이 제시되어져야만 한다. 그러므로 본 논문에서는 칼 융 그리고 메리 데일리, 로즈마리 류터, 캐롤 크리스트와 같은 여성신학자들의 이론을 통하여 전통적인 하나님 상징을 비판하고 새로운 하나님 상징을 고찰 한 후, 두 입장간의 유사점을 찾는 것을 목표로 한다. 이를 위하여 먼저 전통적인 하나님 상징이 가부장적인 이데올로기와 사회구조에 어떠한 영향을 주었는지 먼저 살펴보았다. 그리고 Ⅱ장에서는 남성적이고 초월적인 하나님 상징에 대한 역사적인 이해를 한 후 여성의 경험을 전제로 한 세 여성신학자들의 이론을 사용하여 상징 언어, 이데올로기 그리고 남성 상징을 통하여 전통적인 하나님 상징을 비판하였다. Ⅲ장에서는 칼 융의 이론을 사용하여 종교체험 가운데 상징을 통한 하나님 경험의 중요성을 고찰해 보고, 그 상징 경험을 통하여 삶에 대한 해석과 통찰이 가능하다고 볼때 경험자의 상황과 시대에 맞지 않는 도그마적인 하나님 상징은 비판되어져야 함을 살펴보았다. Ⅳ장에서는 칼 융과 메리 데일리, 로즈마리 류터, 그리고 캐롤 크리스트가 제안하는 새로운 하나님 상징에 대하여 고찰한 후, 그들이 새로운 하나님 상징을 찾아가는 작업 가운데 출발점과 과정이 같으며 새로운 상징의 특징이 유사함을 비교해 보았다. 결론에서는 칼 융의 상징이 가지는 한계점과 로즈마리 류터와 캐롤 크리스트간의 하나님 상징에 대한 이견을 살펴보았다. 그럼에도 불구하고 그들이 제안한 새로운 하나님 상징은 통합적인 하나님의 모습이고 여성적이며 모성적인 지혜이고, 생명력과 여성을 긍정해 주는 근원적인 힘을 가지고 있다는 것을 알 수 있었다. 이를 통하여 인간은 남성 하나님 상징만이 아닌 여성 하나님 상징을 통하여 다양하고 풍부한 의미를 가진 하나님을 경험할 수 있게 되며 그들의 삶에 대한 다양한 해석과 통찰도 가능해진다.; The symbols of God must provide various and full of meanings for those who experience it, which makes them interpret their existence and gain insight. But the women who experienced traditional symbols of God was suffered and disrupted by a manly and transcendental characteristics. The purpose of this thesis is to discover similarities of theory of three' feminist theologists; Mary Daly, Rosemary R. Ruether and Carol P. Christ; and Carl Gustav Jung's theory about new symbol of God by criticizing traditional symbols of God. First I sought to find out traditional symbol of God have a what kind of effect on paternalist ideology and hierarchical social structures, in that premise woman's experience. And then, in chapter Ⅱ I examined historical understanding about manly and transcendental symbols of God and criticised traditional symbol of God by symbol language, ideology and symbol of Goddess Theory of three feminist theologists. And in chapter Ⅲ I criticised dogmatic God that couldn't go with someone's situation and her days through theory of Carl G. Jung. He started from examination of women's experience and concluded hat we can recognize God in religious experience by symbol and it can makes us interpret existence and gain insight. In chapter Ⅳ I considered new symbols of God through theory of Mary Daly, Rosemary R. Ruether, Carol P. Christ and Carl G. Jung. And I examined the precondition, work and character of searching new symbols of God. They proposed unitive God, earth mother and Goddess, which has a female power that affirmed her vitality and feminity. In last chapter. I sought to examine limitation in Carl G. Jung's theory and different view between Rosemary R. Ruether and Carol P. Christ. None the less, they Proposed unitive God, Earth-mother, and Goddess, which has a female power that affirmed her vitality and feminity. Those who experienced symbols of Goddess can undergo that has diverse and abundant meaning, then women can explain and have an insight about their life.
