중등 과학 교사들의 블렌디드 러닝(blended learning) 활용 실태와 활성화시키기 위한 방안

Abstract

학교 교육은 기본적으로 오프라인 교육이 행해지고 있다. 하지만 전통적인 오프라인 교육방법으로는 교육의 효과성을 높이기에는 제약이 따른다. e-러닝은 전통적인 오프라인 교수법의 단점이 보완된다는 이유로 각광을 받았다. 하지만 e-러닝에게도 단점(교수자의 부담 가중, 시간적 부담, 인프라 구축, 정보통신 기술 활용 구비, 평가의 객관성과 신뢰도 문제, 정보 접근 속도 문제 등)들이 지적 되었다. 이러한 점으로 인해 블렌디드 러닝(blended learning)이 주목을 받기 시작하였다. 블렌디드 러닝이란 학습효과를 극대화하기 위해 다양한 학습 매체나 학습 방법 등을 혼합하는 것을 말한다. 블렌디드 러닝은 오프라인 교육에서의 장점과 온라인에서의 장점을 결합된 것이라 할 수 있다. 따라서 실제 학교 현장에서 정보통신 기술 및 온라인 교육과 오프라인 교육의 혼합방식을 알아볼 필요가 있었다. 또한 블렌디드 러닝과 관련된 선행 연구들은 학습자의 입장에서 블렌디드 러닝이 학습에 미치는 영향을 알아본 연구들이 다수였으며, 교사의 입장에서 실제적으로 교사들의 활용 실태파악의 연구는 미비 하였다. 그러므로 본 연구는 중등 과학교사들의 블렌디드 러닝의 활용 실태를 파악하고 블렌디드 러닝을 활성화시키기 위한 방안 제시를 연구 목적으로 하였다. 이를 위해 설문지를 개발 하였으며, 편의표집 하여 146학교에서 227명을 대상으로 설문조사를 실시하였다. 이렇게 실시된 설문은 SPSS 15.0을 이용하여 빈도분석과 교차분석( 검정), t 검정, 일원 분산분석을 통해 결과를 이끌어 내었다. 분석 결과는 블렌디드 러닝이 많이 활용 되고는 있었으나 활발한 활동이 이루어지고 있지는 않았다. 그리고 블렌디드 러닝을 활용하기 위해서는 컴퓨터 이용 실력이 좋아야 한다는 인식이 블렌디드 러닝을 이용하지 않는 교사에게 더 높게 나타났다. 앞으로 블렌디드 러닝을 활용 할 의향이 있는 교사들은 그 이유를 흥미유발로 학생들의 수업 참여도를 높일 수 있다고 하였으며, 의향이 없는 교사들은 자료 제작 기간이 오래 걸리기 때문 이라고 가장 높게 나타났다. 그리고 블렌디드 러닝을 활성화시키기 위한 방안으로 소득이 낮은 가정의 학생들에게 컴퓨터 지원이 필요하다는 인식이 지역 간에 유의미한 결과가 있는 것으로 나타났다. 특히 제주도에서 가장 높게 나타났다. 블렌디드 러닝을 활성화시키기 위해 컴퓨터 실력이 좋아야 한다는 교사들의 인식 개선이 필요하며, 이를 위해 쉽게 이용할 수 있는 매체 및 콘텐츠 개발이 필요 하다고 생각 된다. 그리고 체계적인 블렌디드 러닝 활용을 위한 학습 지도안 개발이 필요하며, 교사들의 의견으로 보아 교사들이 수업 개발을 할 수 있도록 하기 위해 행정적 부담 감소가 필요 할 것으로 생각 된다. 또한 각 지역의 특성에 적합한 지원활동이 이루어지도록 해야 할 것으로 생각된다. 블렌디드 러닝을 활성화 위해 가장 중요한 것은 교사들의 열의와 의지가 무엇보다 가장 중요할 것이다.;The off-line learning of school education is popular in secondary high schools. However, the traditional off-line learning improving the effectiveness of education is constrained. E-learning makes up the weak points and the disadvantage of the traditional off-line method of teaching. However, in the e-learning, some disadvantage such as bunder of teachers, and matter of valuation was pointed out. Because of this disadvantage, the blended learning began to receive attention. We need to know how the information and communication technology, play roles in on-line education. In addition, there are many studies on the academic achievements of the learners. However, there is no analysis about recognizing the blended learning. The purpose of this study were as follows. We try to understand the actual conditions of the blended learning on the secondary school science teachers. We present plan to enhance the blended learning. To achieve this purpose, I developed questionnaire and I executed survey on 227 teachers in 146 schools. After collection, SPSS Win 15.0 program was adopted for the statistical analysis of the questionnaire. I got result by the frequency analysis, crosstabulation analysis( test), t-test and one way analysis of variance. The results of this study were as follows. In the teacher community, it was recognized that in order for the teachers to use the blended learning, the computer skills are necessary. According to the interviews with teachers, the blended learning is necessary to increase the class participation of their students, and also, in order to use the blended learning it takes long time to produce the material. To enhance the blended learning, it seems that the students from low income family need the computer facilities, especially in Jeju Island. On the basis of these results, we conclude that the computer skills are not always necessary in using the blended learning. To use the blended learning effectively, we need media or content development to be easily used. We must develop guidance plan for teaching systematically. Also, activities appropriate to the characteristics of each local regions should be supported. The most important thing among others is the enthusiasm and willingness of teachers in their class.
