홀로코스트의 올바른 이해를 위한 수업 모형 개발

Abstract

본 논문의 목적은 홀로코스트의 올바른 이해를 위해 만화「쥐」를 이용한 수업 모형을 개발하는데 있다. 따라서 본문에서는 홀로코스트에 대한 이론적 배경을 기존의 연구 동향과 최근의 연구 동향으로 나누어 비교하여 살피고 만화「쥐」를 홀로코스트와 관련하여 기존의 학습 자료와는 다른 점들을 중점적으로 분석하였다. 또한 이를 중학교 2학년 사회 부분 중 교과서 중앙진흥연구소의 대단원 ‘Ⅳ 현대세계의 전개’, 중단원 ‘2. 제 2차 세계 대전과 전후의 세계’, 소단원 ‘(1) 경제 공황과 전체주의 국가의 출현’ 부분을 선정하여 1차시로 수업모형을 개발하였다. 이와 같은 수업모형을 수업에 적용하였을 때 다음과 같은 결론에 도달하였다. 첫째, 만화 ‘쥐’를 활용한 홀로코스트 학습은 과거가 아닌 현재의 홀로코스트까지 이해가 가능하다. 둘째, 만화 「쥐」는 처음과 끝이 있는 이야기를 통해 내러티브를 제공한다. 셋째, 여러 국가들 사이의 관계에서 그 이해관계를 살피게 한다. 넷째, 실제 생존자의 증언을 통해 사실적인 이해가 가능하다. 다섯째, 일상사를 통한 평범한 개인의 삶에서 홀로코스트를 조망하게 한다. 본고에서는 이러한 긍정적인 부분들도 존재하지만 몇 가지 부분에서는 제한점들도 있다. 첫째, 사전 수업과 본시수업의 연관성이 큰 만큼 교사의 인터넷 활용수업의 경험이 수업의 질에 크게 영향을 준다. 둘째, 만화‘쥐’에 대한 저작권을 위해서 본고의 처방적인 수준을 탈피하여 예방적 수준의 논의가 필요하다. 셋째, 만화‘쥐’가 중학생에게 학습 자료로서 어려울 수 있다. 넷째, 온라인상으로 만화를 보는 것보다는 실제 책의 지면으로 만화를 접하는 게 더 효율적이다. 위의 내용에서 살펴 본 것과 같이 본고에는 여러 이점을 제공하기도 하지만 아직 여러 가지 제한점도 존재한다. 따라서 이를 보완하려는 노력은 앞으로 풀어가야 할 과제가 될 것이다.;The Holocaust has a educational influence since learners live in the era which doesn't have a border over race, religion and nation. However, the current textbooks of middle schools still stay at the level that only stresses on tyranny of the Nazis. At this point, the cartoon 'Maus' is remarkable to understand Holocaust adequately as a learning material. The cartoon 'Maus' not only provides narrative which usual cartoon doesn't offer but also bases on vivid witness of survivors. Futhermore, it describes the people's life and situation of the era through ordinaries, not heros, with those reasons the purpose of the study is to establish clear concepts about Holocaust using the cartoon 'Maus' for learners. This study is vivid into 3 step ; In the first step, the prime objectives of the instruction as well as the cartoon 'Maus' are provided for learners through the internet-cafe. Also, the pictures and materials related to the Holocaust are offered to learners to learners to activate their background knowledge. In the second step, after the teaching about the Holocaust are conducted, the learners have group activity discussion. In the last step, the learners are asked to complete inquiry sheet and assess on effects of the teaching through the internet cafe. Also, by encouraging the learners to up-road their questions in the internet cafe, their further learning can be facilitated. The study has some advantages through this process. First, the Holocaust learning using the cartoon 'Maus' can make right understanding of Holocaust from fast to present. Second, it provides narrative. Third, it shows correlations among nations. Fourth, it provides an actual understanding through witness of real survivors. Fifth, it provides the perspectives by presenting the daily life of an ordinaries. Even though this study has several merits, it still has many limitations. Therefore, we have to make efforts to overcome limitation.
