매체 언어 표현 능력 신장을 위한 시창작교육론

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to present a proper method for creative writing in education since the students are influenced by the appearance of a variety of media. According to the 7th education curriculum for Korean, one of the major purposes for educating Korean is to improve the ability for creative use of the Korean, so as to be able to lead on an accurate, effective life using language. For this purpose, the curriculum declares that the education for creative writing is projected to improve the ability of expression, rather than to breed up professional writers. However, as chapter Ⅱ points out, the current textbooks used in schools make the students stressful by presenting conventional methods of creative writing without giving students detailed guideline for creative writing procedure. A survey carried out for both the teachers and the students shows that the students felt that they lost interest in poetry and failed to take chances to realize the true beauty of the poetic language. The survey seems to point out that even the teachers have difficulties teaching in creative writing classes. Chapter Ⅲ explains the poetic characteristics of media language which has been important in students' daily life. First, this chapter observes the media language and poetic language have similarities as they easily combine with images and music, and have ambiguity which makes them distinguished from written language. Next, this chapter finds that the implication and playfulness in poetic language are essential for effective writing in web media. Also, this chapter observes that both the languages in poetry and web media are located in a non-linear space of open colloquy. These similarities between media language and poetic language show that the poetry is not a survivals of olden days which has to been disappeared but an effective medium itself for improving students' ability to express the media language. Chapter Ⅳ discusses the methods of creative writing in education for media language in concrete way. This chapter categorizes the activity of 'creative writing for poetry' used in this study. Then this chapter presents a way of creative writing by using media constructively. The methods based on a chatting and public web board and personal blog are presented firstly. Next, this chapter examplifies how to modify the ideal methods in middle school textbook. This paper does not clarify the result of this methods since the methods have not been used in actual classes yet. However, will be left as an issue which the educator himself has to carry out in actual classes.;본 연구의 목적은 다양한 표현 매체의 등장으로 변화하고 있는 학습자들에게 적절한 시 창작 교육의 방향과 방법을 제시함에 있다. 7차 국어과 교육 과정에서는 국어 교과의 목표 중 하나로 한국인의 삶이 배어 있는 국어를 창조적으로 사용하는 능력과 태도를 길러, 정보화 사회에서 정확하고 효과적으로 국어 생활을 영위하게 하는 데 있다고 밝히고 있다. 그리고 이러한 목표에 맞게 문학 창작 교육도 전문적인 창작자를 기르기보다는 언어 표현 능력의 향상을 목표로 이루어져야 한다고 하고 있다. 그러나 Ⅱ장에서 살펴본 바와 같이, 이런 철학을 바탕으로 만들어진 실제 교과서는 시 창작 활동을 문학의 갈래 안에 가두고, 절차나 방법에 대한 상세한 안내 없이 창작 활동을 요구함으로써 학생들에게 창작에 대한 거부감을 주고 있다. 실제 설문 교가 결과를 보면 학생들은 시의 언어가 가지고 있는 참된 아름다움이나 효용을 배울 수 있는 기회를 잃고, 시와 점점 더 멀어져 가고 있다는 것을 알 수 있다. 심지어 현직 교사들조차 시 창작 수업에 어려움을 토로하고 있는 것으로 나타났다. Ⅲ장에서는 현대 사회에서 다양하게 사용되고 있고, 특히 학생들의 일상에서 중요한 여가 활동과 표현 수단으로 이용되고 있는 인터넷 매체에서 사용되는 언어가 시와 비슷한 특징을 가지고 있는 점을 착안하여 매체 언어의 시적 특징에 대해 설명하였다. 먼저 매체 언어와 시의 언어가 이미지와 음악과 결합하는 총체성을 가지며, 문자만으로 된 언어와는 다른 의미의 모호성을 가짐을 살펴보았다. 그리고 효과적인 인터넷 매체 글쓰기를 위해서는 시의 언어가 가진 함축성과 유희성을 가진 언어를 구사해야 함을 보았다. 또 인터넷 매체의 언어와 시의 언어가 비선형성과 개방성을 갖는 담화 공간 안에서 있는 언어임을 살펴보았다. 이와 같은 인터넷 매체 언어와 시의 언어의 유사성은 시가 사라져야 할 구시대적 갈래가 아니라, 현재를 살아가고 있는 학생들의 매체 언어 표현 능력 신장에 적극적으로 활용될 수 있는 갈래임을 보여주고 있다. Ⅳ장에서는 매체 언어 표현 능력 신장을 위한 구체적인 시 창작 교육론에 대해 연구하였다. 먼저 본 연구에서 사용된 ‘시 창작’의 활동의 범주와 목표에 대해 밝혔다. 그리고 인터넷 매체 언어 표현 능력 신장을 목표로 하고, 그 수단으로 매체를 적극적으로 끌어오는 시 창작 방법을 제시하였다. 먼저 채팅과 공용 게시판, 개인 블로그를 활용한 이상적인 시 창작 교육 방법을 제시하였다. 그리고 이 이상적인 방법을 7차 중학교 국어 교과서 안에서 어떻게 변형, 활용할 수 있는지 그 구체적인 예를 들어 밝혀 보았다. 본고에서 제시한 시 창작 교육 방법을 실제 수업에 적용하지 못하여 그 효과를 구체적으로 밝히지 못한 점이 아쉬움으로 남는다. 그러나 이는 연구자가 현장에서 수행해야 할 연구 과제로 남기고 앞으로 더 많은 연구를 통해 학교 현장에서 구체적으로 적용할 수 있는 효과적인 방법이 연구되길 바란다.
