앙리 마티스 회화 이미지를 응용한 캐쥬얼 룩 디자인 연구

Abstract

21C는 기술과 감성의 융합시대로서 현대사회의 급속한 산업발달과 경제성장을 이루면서 기술력과 더불어 디자인, 컨셉, 색상, 브랜드 이미지 등 차별성과 감성을 중시하는 방향으로 소비자의 욕구가 변화하고 있다. 현대에 남녀 구분 없이 사회활동이 활발해지고, 현대인들의 삶이 여유로워지면서 여가활동 등을 통해 삶의 질을 높이고 문화적 수준이 향상되면서 예술, 디자인 분야의 관심이 증폭되어 현대인의 생활에 많은 영향을 미치고 있다. 그로인해 현대인의 시각과 욕구가 다양화 개성화 되면서 패션은 인간의 내적 미의식과 생활 표현 양식으로 사회적, 경제적, 예술적 문화의 총칭으로서의 몫을 톡톡히 해내고 있다. 패션이 자기표현 수단으로서의 중요성이 부각되고 현대인들의 경제적 수준이 점차 높아지기 시작하면서 단순한 의미의 디자인이 아니라 패션을 감성적인 고부가가치로서의 예술 활동으로 인정하고 이어져가고 있다. 또한 현대인들의 감성적인 수준이 높아지고 예술, 디자인 분야의 관심이 증폭 되면서 패션에 다양한 예술작품 등을 접목하여 소비자 욕구를 충족하고 있다. 20세기에 이르러 다양한 예술과 디자인의 발전은 박차를 가해지면서 회화에서 많은 소재들을 접목하고 응용하여 발전해 왔다. 이러한 현상은 현재까지도 계속 되고 있으며 현대인들의 삶의 질이 높아지고 문화적 수준이 향상 되면서 예술과 디자인 분야의 관심은 날이 갈수록 증폭되어지고 있다. 따라서 패션 디자인은 현재까지 사회적, 문화적 환경의 영향을 받아 변화해왔으며 앞으로도 지속적으로 변화해나갈 것이다. 현대인들의 삶이 여유로워지면서 여가활동과 레저산업 등의 발달은 현대인의 의복생활에도 많은 영향을 미치고 있다. 이러한 현상으로 자유롭고 활동적인 캐쥬얼 룩은 계절에 관계없이 다양한 실용성을 추구하며 격식과 형식보다는 감각을 중시하고 유행주기를 떠나 실질적인 복장을 중심으로 발달하고 있다. 다양한 현상들이 접목되고 하위문화의 영향을 받은 스트리트 패션으로 다양한 캐쥬얼 룩 으로 나타나고 있다. 본 연구에서는 예술과 디자인의 통합으로 이어지는 현대패션 디자인 현상에 기인하여 앙리 마티스 회화를 조형적으로 분석하고 다양한 색채 배색과 모티프를 응용하여 의상디자인에 적용하였다. 앙리 마티스 회화 이미지와 색채를 활용하고 스포티브적인 캐쥬얼과 문화주의적 캐쥬얼을 디자인에 활용하였다. 작품의 모티프로 활용한 앙리 마티스의 회화에서 보여 지는 색채의 독창성은 고갱과 고흐 등의 영향을 받아 이루어 졌으며 순수하고 강렬한 색채의 추구로 후대의 색채주의자들에게 많은 영향력을 미쳤다. 앙리 마티스 회화의 특징은 강렬한 색채와 단순하고 장식성이 강한 화면 구성이다. 색에 의한 공간 구성과 명암이 없는 단면으로 나타나며 순색에 의존하여 붉은 색, 푸른 색, 녹색을 주로 사용한다. 또한, 단순화 된 형태에 다양한 색채표현으로 이루어져 생동감 있는 느낌을 들게 한다. 연구의 이론적 배경을 정립하기 위해 앙리 마티스 회화의 형성배경 및 특성과 작품세계를 알아보고 색채와 모티프를 조형적으로 분석해보았다. 앙리 마티스 회화의 대표적인 작품을 선정하여 색채와 이미지를 추출하고 다양한 사례를 수집하여 회화 이미지에서 인스피레이션을 받아 의상 디자인을 연구하고자 한다. 의상의 색채 배색을 위해 회화의 이미지를 통해 색채 추출방식으로 다양한 색채 배색을 돋보이게 할 수 있도록 회화적 모티프를 최대한 적용하여 구성하였다. 심플, 스포티 등을 테마로 하여 모직, 면, 스판덱스를 중심으로 다양한 기법의 응용을 통해 색채 배색 등을 표현하여 총 8벌의 실물을 제작하고 작품 제작 의도와 방법을 기술하고 각 작품의 해설을 하였다. 본 연구를 통해 얻은 결론은 다음과 같다. 첫째, 앙리 마티스 회화의 색채는 그전에 이어오던 자연적인 색채를 파괴하고 주목성이 뛰어난 강렬한 색채와 단순하고 장식성이 강한 모티프를 접목해 자유로운 배색과 배열로 개성 있는 의상에 응용하기에 적합했다. 둘째, 앙리 마티스 회화의 색채는 강한 콘트라스트 효과가 주된 특성이다. 이러한 특성을 단순한 형태의 디자인에 적용함으로써 그 효과가 발휘됨과 동시에 주목성이 강조됨을 확인 할 수 있다. 셋째, 앙리 마티스 회화의 자유롭고 활동적인 이미지는 실용성, 대중성을 표현하기에 용이하고 캐쥬얼 웨어의 특성과 잘 부합되었다. 넷째, 앙리 마티스 회화 모티프의 유동적 곡선 이미지를 소재에 접목하여 즉, 다양한 색채를 곡선적 이미지에 담아 리브조직 부분에 적용함으로써 전체적 형태와 잘 조화되는 장식적인 효과를 거둘 수 있었다. 이에 본 연구는 다양한 문화적, 사회적 현상과 과거의 많은 작품 등이 다양한 디자인 발전에 인스피레이션 제공함으로서 현대의상과 예술작품을 접목하여 차별성과 감성을 중시하는 현대 패션에 맞추어 자유로운 색채배색과 회화이미지의 모티프를 응용한 독창적인 디자인 창출의 가능성을 제시하고 현대 디자인 발전에 기인하고자한다.;The fusion of technology and sensibility represents the twenty-first century. As the society experienced the rapid industrial and economic development, the consumer considers not only technology but sensibility, and values difference in design, concept, color, brand images, etc. In modern times, people actively participate in society regardless of gender and have more leisure time than in past. People have much interest in arts and design, and spend their time in improving quality of life and cultural level, which leads to great influence in modern life. The diversification of people’s views and desires has made fashion a symbol of internal esthetic consciousness and life style and this has performed its duty as a social, economic, and artistic reality of culture. As fashion has been emphasized as a tool of self-expression and economic level has been improved, people prefer a design with high value in quality and sensibility to a simple one. People have more expectations for arts and design and accordingly, various artworks were combined with fashion to meet the consumer needs. Toward the twentieth century, various arts and designs have been developed combining and applying a motif from the paintings. The situation continues and the quality of people’s life and the culture level has been improved. Thus, people take a growing interest in arts and design. Fashion design has been much influenced by social and cultural atmosphere and will continue to change. As people live a decent life, the development of leisure activities and industry has a much effect on apparel. With this phenomenon, a free and active casual look is making progress centering around the practical apparel, pursuing diversified efficiency irrespective of a season and considering sensibility not formality. Various phenomena have added and many kinds of casual look began to emerge as a street fashion which is influenced by subordinate culture. In this study, paintings of Henri Matisse were analyzed in every respect and were applied in apparel design with diverse color arrangement and a motif originating in the phenomenon of modern fashion design which leads to the integration of arts and design. Painting image and color of Henri Matisse were used. Sportive casual and cultural casual was used in design as well. Originality of its color in the paintings which were used as a motif is coming from Gauguin and Gogh. Henri had influenced to the next generation with pursuit of violent color. The characters of Henri Matisse’s paintings are comprised of violent color, a simple and decorative formation. It shows the space formation by color and a flat section. It mainly uses red, blue and green depending on solid color. Also, painting gives vividness because of its simplified forms and diverse color expressions. In order to establish theoretical background of the study, the background of formation of Henri Matisse’s paintings, characters and works was examined. Also, the color and motif were analyzed. A representative work of Henri Matisse was selected and the color and motif will be sampling. Inspirations being come from various examples initiate study of apparel design. The design gets the best out of its motif to look to advantage of various color arrangement through extracting such color in paintings for the color arrangement of apparel. With the theme of simplicity and sportiness, total of eight clothes were produced. The idea of work and its method is described. Woolen fabric, cotton and span were used and the color arrangement was expressed through diverse technique. The following conclusions were drawn from this study. First, Henri Matisse’s paintings rejected the longstanding natural color. It combines notable violent color with a simple yet decorative motif. Therefore color from Matisse’s paintings suit for apparel of marked individuality with its free color arrangement. Second, a major feature of the color of Henri Matisse’s paintings is a strong contrast effect. With an application of the feature, the effect is demonstrated and the emphasis on attentn is observed. Third, free and active image in Henri Matisse’s paintings is easy to express efficiency and popularity. It accords with the feature of casual wear. Fourth, through adding a flowing curved line in Henri Matisse’s paintings to materials and applying various colors putting into a curved line image to a rib section, a decorative effect which goes well with the whole shape is obtained. Since different cultural, social phenomenon and past artworks offer inspirations to the development of diverse design, this study presents possibility of emergence of unique design using free color arrangement and motif from the image of paintings and aims development of modern fashion design in accordance with modern fashion giving importance to the difference and sensibility by integration of modern garments and artworks.
