Robert Frost의 시를 통해서 본 그의 자연

Abstract

본 논문에서는 그의 일생의 대부분을 Vermont 농장에서 생활하면서 시를 쓴 Robert Frost의 자연을 다섯편의 그의 시: “Stopping by woods on a snowy evening" "After Apple-Picking" "Birches" "Mowing" "The Death of the Hired Mam" 을 통하여 고찰하였다. 그는 자연과 인간에 대하여 사랑과 신념을 가지고 있었다. Frost가 묘사한 자연은 새로운 영역이었다. 그의 숲이나 목장은 부드러운 기질의 시나 전통적인 목가적인 시하고는 다르며 그의 인물은 이름도 없는 촌부나 부랑이 같은 불우한 사람들이 대부분이다. 그의 시의 주제는 need와 love, work와 play, fact와 dream의 대립관념으로 구성되어 있다. Frost는 인생의 이런 양면성을 조화시켰다. 인간은 그가 꿈꿀 수 있다는 사실 때문에 자연으로 돋뵈게 된다. 그러나 인간도 자연의 한 부분이다. 그렇기 때문에 그의 최상의 꿈은 사실에 대한 꿈이고 그 사실은 자연에 있어서 노력을 동반한다.; In this study, I have tried to show some aspects of nature embodied in the poems of Robert Frost. He lived in the farm of Vermont most of his life farming, teaching , and writing poetry. I have chosen five poems of Frost as for my study: "Stopping by Woods on a Snowy Evening," "After Apple-Picking," "Birches," "Mowing," "Dream of the Hired Mam". He insisted upon love and belief both on the nature and the man. The nature Frost represents is a new territory that has never been exposed. his woods and pasture are quite different from mellow temperament or any of the traditional pastoral poetry. his persons are, for the most part, miserable peoples as unknown farmers and tramps. The themes of his poems consist of contrasting views of need and love, work and play, fact and dream. Frost harmonizes both bright and seamy sides of life in his poems. Mam is set off from nature by the fact that he is capable of the dream, but he is also of nature, and his best dream is the dream of the fact and the fact is his position of labor and fate in nature.
