수도권 지역 시립합창단의 청소년을 위한 연주활동 연구

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to analyze comparatively the performance activities of six municipal choruses in capital cities for juveniles and thereby to explore ways to facilitate emotional cultivation, make music a part of their life and create a desirable cultural environment for juveniles. For this purpose, the researcher reviewed the concept and characteristics of youth theoretically to emphasize that it would be essential for choirs to create a cultural environment conducive to juveniles' emotional development. In addition, the researcher examined the relevant literature about juveniles' cultural life, creation of a desirable juveniles culture and foreign cultural festivals for juveniles. In order to analyze the performance activities of the municipal choruses, the writer surveyed their actual performance activities and repertories for three years from 2005 to 2007, while finding some suggestions from the foreign cases of juvenile music festivals. Thereupon, a questionnaire was designed to examine Korean juveniles' experiences of music festivals, and thereby, explore directions for the performance activities of Korean municipal choruses. As a result of analyzing performance activities of the municipal choruses for juveniles, it was found that performances were not regular in most cases, and that programs were less diversified. In addition, music tour concerts were limited to certain schools, while being planned in a shorter term. As a result of the questionnaire survey for the students' experiences of the music tour concerts, it was found that students' responses to the concerts were very positive, and that the majority of them wanted to attend such concerts regularly. Although the sample municipal choruses have each used wider repertories, it is deemed necessary for them to strike a harmony between popular songs, modern choral music and more difficult music, such as art music which may be less accessible to juveniles. Based on the above findings, the researcher suggested the following directions for more effective performance activities by municipal juveniles choruses: First, it is desirable to hold concerts regularly to help juveniles appreciate them more easily. The repertories need to be more diversified, including co-performance with orchestra, and musicals. Second, music tour concerts should be planned in close cooperation with the departments of city cultural administrations and local schools, while being planned as regular concerts for a variety of local schools rather than a single event. Third, it is necessary to expand choral repertories to make our juveniles interested in the concerts, while including more advanced music not easily accessible to them, in order to expand opportunities for them to appreciate more diverse genres of music. Fourth, it is deemed desirable to provide juveniles with the opportunities to perform music in conjunction with other performers. In addition, they need to be given chances to participate in juveniles music concert planning, or help in performance as guides, ticket or pamphlet sales assistants or other volunteer activities. By this, juveniles' cultural environment would be richer in terms of cultural production and consumption, while their cultural understanding also would be further enriched. Lastly, it is hoped that municipal choirs will perform more effectively for local juveniles, and that this study will be followed up by future studies which will research music education in relation to municipal choruses to conduce in helping to develop the emotional development of juveniles.;본 연구는 수도권 6개 지역의 시립합창단이 청소년을 위해 하고 있는 연주활동을 비교· 분석함으로서, 시립합창단의 청소년을 위한 연주활동이 청소년 시기에 중요한 정서함양과 음악의 생활화를 이루어 낼 수 있는 효과적인 방안을 모색해 보고, 나아가 청소년들의 바람직한 문화 환경으로 자리 잡을 수 있도록 하는데 목적이 있다. 이론적 배경에서는 청소년의 개념과 특징에 대해 살펴봄으로서 청소년 시기의 정서적 발달을 충족시키기 위한 문화적 환경 조성의 필요성에 대해 알아보았다. 또한 청소년의 문화생활과 바람직한 청소년 문화 조성, 그리고 외국의 청소년 음악축제에 대한 문헌 연구를 하였다. 실제적인 시립합창단의 청소년을 위한 연주활동 내용연구에서는 첫째, 2005년부터 2007년까지 3년간의 각 시립합창단의 청소년을 위한 연주활동과 레퍼토리를 조사하였다. 둘째, 찾아가는 음악회를 감상한 학생들을 대상으로 설문조사하였다. 이에 더불어 외국의 청소년 음악축제의 사례에서 나타난 시사점을 토대로 시립합창단이 나아가야 할 방향에 대해 살펴보았다. 청소년을 위한 연주활동을 분석한 결과, 각 시립합창단의 청소년을 위한 음악회는 정기적으로 이루어지지 않고 있으며, 공연 형태면에서도 더욱 다양성이 요구되고 있다. 또한 찾아가는 음악회의 경우도 각 지역의 일부 학교에서만 이루어지고 있고, 공연기획 자체도 일회적인 양상을 띠고 있었다. 찾아가는 음악회를 감상한 학생들을 대상으로 설문조사한 결과 학생들의 반응은 매우 긍정적이었고, 대부분의 학생들이 이러한 공연을 정기적으로 관람할 수 있기를 바라고 있었다. 각 시립합창단의 청소년을 위한 음악회의 레퍼토리는 시립합창단 별로 다양한 곡들을 연주하였지만 대중적인 곡들과 더불어 현대합창이나 예술음악과 같은 청소년들이 평소 접하기 어려운 곡들이 더욱 조화를 이루어 연주되어야 할 필요가 있다. 따라서 시립합창단의 청소년을 위한 연주활동이 더욱 효과적으로 이루어지기 위해서 나아가야 할 방향을 제시하면 다음과 같다. 첫째, 청소년을 위한 음악회에서는 청소년들의 공연 감상을 용이하게 하기 위해서 매해 일정한 시기에 연주회를 개최하는 것이 바람직하고, 오케스트라와의 협연이나 뮤지컬 공연과 같은 다양한 공연의 형태를 가져야 하겠다. 둘째, 찾아가는 음악회의 경우는 정부와의 연계 차원에서 각 시청 문화계와 지역 학교들과의 긴밀한 연계를 통해 일회적이 아닌 정기적이고 지속적인 공연이 각 지역의 학교들에서 고루 이루어질 수 있도록 해야 한다. 셋째, 청소년을 위한 음악회의 레퍼토리는 청소년들이 흥미를 유발할 수 있는 곡들과 더불어 쉽게 접할 수 없는 수준 있는 곡들이 고루 포함되어 청소년들의 음악 감상 기회를 더욱 폭넓게 해주어야 한다. 넷째, 찬조 출연을 통해 각 지역의 청소년들이 직접 무대에 설 수 있는 기회를 마련해 주는 것이 좋겠다. 또한 연주자로뿐만 아니라 청소년 음악회 공연의 기획 부분에 참여할 수 있는 기회를 주거나 음악회 안내, 티켓이나 팜플렛 판매 등과 같은 자원봉사자로 시립합창단의 공연에 직접 참여하도록 한다면 문화의 생산과 소비의 장에서 우리 청소년들의 문화 환경은 풍부해 질 것이며 이들의 문화정서 또한 확장될 것이다. 위의 내용을 바탕으로 시립합창단이 지역의 청소년들에게 더욱 긍정적인 영향을 끼치기 바라며, 앞으로 시립합창단과 관련된 음악 교육적 측면에서의 연구가 활발히 이루어져 청소년들의 정서함양 계발에 더욱 큰 효과가 있기를 기대하는 바이다.
