SCORM 기반 LMS의 완전학습 모듈 설계 및 구현

Abstract

Learning Management System to manage the configuration, the storage of contents and the interaction of learning becomes an issue after e-Learning studying based on-line has got attention. The system needs many standards and specifications to cover the various and comprehensive e-Learning functions such as contents interaction and reuse. The answer is SCORM (Sharable Content Object Reference Model). Therefore, it is necessary to support the International Learning Content Standard, SCORM in the Learning management System. In this context, it causes the high interest of open software LMS based SCORM, in addition, the successful cases from the education are reported in the world. I think that it is time to introduce and apply the open software based LMS to Korean middle and high schools. I choose ATutor, the best LMS, because it is easy to install, excellent to extend function and good to be a module of functions as well as reflects the international standards well. The ATutor Learning Management System has the various learning module functions, for example, a notice-board, forum, the chatting, file upload and poll functions. In addition, it is developed to encourage interactions among learners. Unfortunately, there is no way to apply the various learning tools depending on personal learning level, so I planed to add to mastery learning module at the ATutor. The mastery learning module can offer students various learning environment depending on their achievement and pre-learning. Also, it helps learners can reach their learning goal through the various learning materials and activity in the mastery learning module. In this research, the whole studying procedures; a discovery of learning problems, evaluation of the achievement etc. are designed easily manageable by teachers with the mastery learning module. For instance, they can create, input, edit, maintain and manage the procedures by themselves. It is implemented that not only under-achievers can get out of poor result and get interests in studying but high-achievers can have curiosity and reach the higher achievement providing deepening learning contents.;온라인 기반의 e-Learning 학습이 점점 부각되면서 교수 학습의 상호 작용과 콘텐츠의 구성 및 저장을 관리하는 시스템인 학습관리시스템(LMS : Learning Management System)이 이슈화되기 시작했다. 그러면서 콘텐츠의 상호 운용성 및 재사용성이 가능하고, 다양하고 포괄적인 e-Learning 기능을 부여할 수 있도록 여러 표준과 규격이 필요해졌는데, 이게 바로 SCORM(Sharable Content Object Reference Model)이다. 따라서 학습관리시스템에서 국제 학습 콘텐츠 표준인 SCORM을 지원하는 것은 이제 필수가 되었다. 이러한 맥락에서 세계적으로 SCORM을 기반으로 하는 공개 소프트웨어 학습관리시스템에 대한 관심이 높아지고, 교육 현장 적용 성공 사례들이 보고되고 있다. 따라서, 우리나라 중고등학교에서도 활용할 수 있는 공개 소프트웨어 기반의 학습관리시스템을 도입, 활용해보고자 한다. 여러 가지 학습관리시스템 중에 설치가 편리하고, 확장 가능성이 우수하며, 기능의 모듈화가 잘 되어 있고, 국제 표준을 가장 잘 반영하고 있는 ATutor를 선정하였다. ATutor 학습관리시스템에는 게시판, 포럼, 채팅, 파일 업로드, 투표 등과 같은 다양한 학습 모듈 기능이 있으며, 이들은 학습자 간 상호작용을 활성화하도록 편리하게 개발되어 있다. 그러나 이러한 다양한 학습 도구를 개인 학습 수준에 맞게 활용할 방법은 없다. 따라서 ATutor에 완전학습 모듈을 추가 설계 구현하였다. 완전학습 모듈은 학습자의 선수 학습 정도나 학업 성취도에 따라 개인별로 다른 학습 환경을 제공하며, 다양한 학습 자료와 학습 활동으로 학습 목표에 도달할 수 있게 한다. 본 연구에서는 완전학습 모듈을 통해 수업 전체 과정(기초 학습 진단 평가에 의한 학습 결함의 발견 및 처치, 형성 평가를 통한 성취도 확인, 성취도에 따른 보충 학습 또는 심화 학습 그리고 종합 평가)을 교수자의 입장에서 손쉽게 저작(생성, 입력, 수정, 유지와 관리) 및 활용할 수 있도록 구현하였다. 또한, 학습자의 입장에서 도태되는 소수의 학습 부진아들에게는 만성적인 학습 부진에서 벗어날 수 있도록 지원해주며, 반면 탁월한 학업 성취도를 보이는 학습자들에게는 심화 학습 내용이 제공되어 학업 성취감이나 호기심을 높여주도록 구현하였다.
