성격적 특성을 고려한 악기 선택에 관한 연구

Abstract

전공으로 악기를 선택하거나 취미로 악기를 선택할 때, 여러 가지 요소들을 고려하여 연주자 자신에게 적합한 악기를 선택하는 것이 중요하다는 것은, 이미 여러 학자들의 연구를 통하여 밝혀졌다. 그러나 구체적인 기준이나 척도를 제시하는 연구들이 부족하여 실제로 악기를 선택 하는데 도움이 되는 연구는 찾아보기 어렵다. 우리나라의 기존 연구들은 악기 선택 시 신체조건을 고려하는 수준에 머물렀지만, 본 연구에서는 악기 선택 시 성격적 특성을 고려한 악기 선택방법을 제시하였다. 이를 통해, 악기 선택 시 학생과 교사들에게 실제적인 도움이 되는 지침을 제공하는 것을 본 연구의 목적하였다. 본 연구는 벤토빔ㆍ보이드 시스템의 악기별 성격적 특성 기술 내용을 바탕으로, 연주자의 ‘성격적 특성에 따른 악기 선택 검사 도구’를 구성하여 제시하였다. 그리고 이 검사 도구를 가지고 서울 신림동 소재 M여자고등학교 관악부 악기 전공생들을 대상으로 학생들과 악기의 성격적 적합성을 검사하고, 이 검사 도구의 타당도를 확인하기 위해 성격적 적합도에 따른 학생들의 악기에 대한 기대와 만족에 대하여 관찰하였다. 본 연구의 연구 방법은 질적 연구 방법이며, 사전 조사, 성격적 특성에 따른 악기 선택 검사, 학생 지필 면접과 개인 심층 면접을 시행하였다. 본 연구 결과, 자신의 성격에 적합한 악기를 전공으로 선택한 학생들은 진로 선택이 악기 연주 활동과 관련된 것이고, 전공악기를 시작한 후 음악 자체에 대한 흥미가 높아졌으며, 악기 연주를 통해 스트레스를 해소하고, 감정의 회복을 얻고 있으며, 자신의 전공 악기를 좋아하고 답했다. 이를 통해서 성격에 적합한 전공악기를 선택한 학생들은 자신의 전공악기에 대한 기대와 만족도가 높으며, 본 연구에서 제시한 ‘성격적 적합성에 따른 악기 선택 검사 도구’가 타당함을 확인하였다. 향후 일반 고등학교 관악부 학생들의 악기 선택 시 ‘성격’을 고려하여 자신에게 보다 적합한 악기를 선택할 수 있도록 해야 한다.;Many music educators have studied that the players should choose instruments apt to themselves. In fact, however, it's hard to find the studies to be helpful to select the instruments because of the shortage of studies useful to suggest the concrete standards. Even though Pre-Studies have suggested choosing instrument by 'physical traits', this study suggest 'Test of choosing instrument by personality traits'. Thus it purpose to provide useful choosing instrument to the students and the teachers. This study made and suggested the ‘Test of choosing instrument by personality traits’ based on instrument characteristic descriptions by Ben-Tovim & Boyd system. And then, it made a research with the students from M girl's high school in Seoul whether their personality trait was suited for their instruments of Major. And it observed the expectation and satisfaction of students by personality suitability between students and their instruments. The method is qualitative research. Details are pre-test, interview of paper tests, interview of individuals. As results, the students who chose the instruments suited to their personality traits resulted in their future plans to be players and had the potential for getting higher interests in music after starting major instrument. And they could blow off their stress and recover emotions by playing instruments and had a tendency to love their instruments of Major. With this result, it can conclude that the students who chose the instruments suited to their personality traits had higher expectation and satisfaction of Major instrument and the ‘Test of choosing instrument by personality traits’ suggested by this study is proper. Therefore, students in brass band of general senior high school should choose their instruments not only according to their physical traits but also by their personality traits.
