Tracing Her Stories

Abstract

This study provides a comparison between the archetypes of Eve in the Genesis and the similar figure of goddesses in Chinese mythology. As Eve is one of the most influential stereotypes of women that impress people all over the world, two important lines of related archetypes are applied: Eve and N?wa, Eve and Chang'e, which respectively present "positive" position as mother of humankinds and "negative" position as sinful woman. Through the research, the author discloses how the great women of the ethnic have gradually lost their influence and become instigators of the watcher's fall in order to give rise of consciousness of women. Their similarities and differences make us better understand female figures in Hebrew and Chinese culture, especially Chinese female Christians.;본 연구는 기독교 성서 창세기의 이브와 그와 비슷한 인물인 중국 여신을 비교한다. 이브가 가장 강력한 고전적인 여성인 반면, 그와 관련 있는 두 가지 비슷한 전형적인 여인을 비교하고자 한다. 바로 ‘누와’(Nuwa)와 ‘창어’(Chang’e)이다. 그들은 인류의 어머니라는 긍정적인 이미지를 가지고 있고, 또한 죄를 저지른 여인이라는 부정적 이미지를 지닌다. 이 연구를 통해 필자는 여성의 의식을 높이고자 인류의 위대한 여인들이 어떻게 그들의 영향력을 잃었는지 밝히려 한다. 그들의 공통점과 차이점들은 유대 문화와 중국 문화 각각의 여성에 대한, 그리고 특히 중국 기독교 여성에 대한 이해를 높일 것이다.
