K.Malevich의 절대주의 회화작품을 응용한 컴퓨터 니트웨어 디자인 연구

Abstract

산업화의 발달과 더불어 획일화 되어가는 현대 사회 속에서 패션은 이전의 신체보호의 기본적인 수단을 넘어서고 하나의 개성표현의 수단으로 변화, 발전되어 가고 있다. 현대 패션은 생활 문화 속에서 소비자의 욕구를 충족하고, 타인과 차별화되는 자신만의 스타일을 표출해내는 역할을 하고 있다. 자아 표현을 위한 독창적이고 창조적인 패션디자인을 위해서는 순수미술과 응용미술이라는 경계의 이분법적인 근대적 사고를 넘어서 양자 간의 이해와 상호작용을 통해 새로운 디자인 개념을 추출하고, 이를 창의적으로 활용하는 것이 중요한 요소가 되었다. 현대의 많은 패션 디자이너들은 개성을 표현할 수 있는 다양한 소재의 개발과 표현기법을 활용하여 보다 차별화된 이미지를 구축하고자 독창적인 아이디어 창출을 위해 노력하고 있다. 본 연구의 작품 제작 소재인 니트웨어의 경우 독창적인 질감과 우수한 신축성, 편안하고 따뜻한 기능성을 겸비해 현대 패션에서 각광받고 있다. 이러한 시대적 흐름에 따라 본 연구에서는 러시아 추상미술작가인 카지미르 말레비치(Kazimir Malevich)의 절대주의 시기의 작품을 고찰하여 실용성, 장식성, 독창성을 겸비한 니트웨어 디자인을 제안하고자 하였다. 일반적인 니트웨어에서 보여지던 반복적이고, 획일화된 모티프에서 벗어나 말레비치의 절대주의 시기 작품들을 모티프의 소스로 조형적 특징인 기하학적 형태와 색채의 구성을 연구하여 색면구성을 살린 모티프로 재구성하였고, A/W원사와 램스울 원사의 혼방, 비딩 패치워크 표현기법을 통한 소재의 복합성, 다양한 컬러와 패턴을 제안할 수 있는 컴퓨터 기계니트로 제작하였다. 그리고 말레비치 절대주의 작품 속에서 보여지는 White, Black, Blue, Green, Red, Yellow 컬러를 제한적으로 사용하여 원색적인 색채와 기하학적인 모티프가 보여지는 카지미르 말레비치의 작품을 응용한 니트 의상디자인을 하고자 하였다. 연구의 내용 및 방법으로는 국내외의 문헌과 논문, 학술연구지등의 고찰을 통하여 러시아의 추상미술과 카지미르 말레비치 작품의 예술사적 의의를 살펴보고, 말레비치의 절대주의 작품 연구를 통해 절대주의의 효시가 된 말레비치의 작품속의 기하학적 조형요소인 형태와 색에 대해 고찰하였다. 그리고 예술서적, 패션전문지, 패션전문 정보 사이트 및 인터넷 정보 등을 활용하여 현대 예술과 디자인의 관계를 고찰하고, 회화나 기하학적 추상모티브를 활용한 현대 패션에 대해 국내외의 문헌과 사진자료들을 통해 살펴보았다. 이를 바탕으로 작품제작을 할 니트의 개념과 역사, 기본조직과 변화조직등 니트의 종류와 특징을 살펴보고, 말레비치 작품을 응용한 니트 디자인 작품의 주요기법인 컬러 니트 자카드와 인타시아에 대해 고찰하였다. 그리고, 기하학적 모티브를 반영한 니트웨어 디자인을 분석해 현대 패션에서의 니트 디자인을 연구하였다. 이와 같은 연구를 토대로 말레비치의 작품에서 보여 지는 추상적이고 기하학적인 형태, 원색적인 색채의 특징을 응용하여 총 8점의 니트웨어 작품을 제작 하였다. 본 연구를 통하여 얻은 결론은 다음과 같다. 첫째, 회화는 현대 의상 디자인에 있어 중요한 모티브이며, 개인적 사고와 표현방법에 따라 독창적인 디자인 개발의 주요 원동력이 될 수 있슴을 알 수 있었다. 특히 카지미르 말레비치의 절대주의 시기 회화의 기하학적 조형요소와 원색적인 컬러는 의상디자인의 모던한 이미지로 적합하였다. 본 연구에서는 카지미르 말레비치 회화의 구성요소를 의상에 도입함으로써 패션디자인의 창의적이고 독창적인 기법과 모티브 응용을 제안하고, 예술과 패션의 만남을 통해 새로운 가치를 지니는 계기를 마련하였다. 둘째, 카지미르 말레비치의 절대주의 작품을 응용한 컴퓨터 니트디자인 작품의 편직 기법 중 하나인 니트 자카드 기법은 자카드 기법중 튜블러 자카드 기법으로 자카드 편직 중에서 가장 두께감이 있어서 형태안정성을 요하는 디자인에 적합한 기법임을 알 수 있었다. 편직하고자 하는 디자인이 2도 컬러인 경우 표면과 이면의 무늬와 바닥조직의 색상이 반대로 되기 때문에 본 연구에서는 이러한 자카드 기법의 특성을 이용한 리버시블 형태의 디자인 표현에 적합하였다. 셋째, 본 연구에서 작품제작에 활용한 컴퓨터 니트 기법 중 인타시아 편직기법은 배색무늬가 뚜렷하게 보이며, 편물의 두께가 얇아 최근 섬유의 경량화 트랜드에 맞춰 선호되는 편직이다. 연구 작품에는 디자인에 따라 양면 더블조직의 종류인 컬러 니트 자카드 기법의 튜블러 자카드 편직기법과 인타시아 편직기법을 응용함으로써 디자인 특성을 살릴 수 있었다. 두 편직 기법 모두 대량생산이 가능한 편직 기법으로 앞으로의 니트 패션산업을 성장·발전하기 시키기 위한 고부가가치제품을 생산하기에도 적합하다. 본 연구를 통해 현대 산업의 모든 분야에서 보여지는 아트마케팅의 한 분야로서 예술과 패션과의 만남이 새로운 가치를 지녀 표현영역이 확대되길 바라며, 앞으로 더 다양한 기법과소재도 연구되어 조형성과 기능성을 겸비한 니트웨어의 고부가가치로 창출되기를 바란다.;The purpose of this study was to examine the Russian abstract artist Kazimir Malevich's works during the period of absolutism and thereupon, suggest some knitwear designs practical, decorative and creative. For this purpose, the researcher reviewed domestic and foreign literature, dissertations and academic journals to determine the Russian abstract fine art and the significance of Kazimir Malevich's works in the history of arts and thereupon, examined Malevich's works or the champions of absolutism in terms of their geometric formative elements or forms and colors. In addition, the researcher referred to arts books, fashion special magazines, fashion special information sites and Internet data to review the relationship between contemporary arts and designs, and browsed domestic and foreign literature and photographic data about the contemporary fashion using paintings or geometric abstract motives. Based on the results of such literature reviews, the researcher examined concepts, history, types and characteristics of the knit, while reviewing the knit jacquards and intarsias, the primary techniques of the knit design works using Malevich's works. Furthermore, the researcher analyzed the knitwear designs reflecting the geometric motives to examine the knit designs in the contemporary fashion. Based on the results of such a theoretical research, the researcher used the abstract and geometric forms and primary colors shown in Malevich's works to produce a total of 8 knitwear works. The results of this study can be summarized as follows; First, paintings may be important motives for the contemporary costume designs, while being a major driving power for development of some original designs depending on artists' personal thoughts and expression techniques. In particular, those geometric formative elements and primary colors of Kazimir Malevich's paintings during the period of absolutism seem to be rich decorative motives for costume designs. Second, this study is deemed to suggest creative and original techniques and motive applications for fashion designs by introducing the elements of Kazimir Malevich's paintings into costume designs, and provide for an opportunity to suggest new values by combining arts and fashion. Third, the knit jacquard technique, one of the major techniques for the knit design works using Kazimir Malevich's absolutism works, is considered a tubular jacquard featuring the deepest sense of thickness. This technique seems to be useful to the designs requiring a formal stability. Furthermore, since upside and underside patterns and colors of the base structure are reversed in case of double-degree colors used, the technique seems to be adequate to reversible type designs. The intarsia knit is preferred in the recent trend for light fabric because it features clear background patterns and allows for thinner fabric. For this study, the researcher applied a both-side double structure, namely tubular jacquard and intarsia techniques of color knit jacquard. Lastly, it is hoped that this study will serve to expand the domain of expression by means of an art marketing or meeting between arts and fashion in our contemporary industries, and that this study will be followed up by future studies which will research into more diverse techniques and materials to create high-value-added knitwears featuring both forms and functions.
