빅토리아 시대 패션 스타일을 응용한 여아 드레스 디자인 연구

Abstract

한국의 여아드레스 산업은 서서히 성장하고 있다. 2000년대 초반부터 서울 강남을 중심으로 파티문화가 증가하면서 외국인 학교나 사립학교 여아들의 연주드레스, 파티복 등을 디자인하여 맞춤, 대여하는 부띠끄들이 하나 둘씩 생겨나고 있다. 또한 고급 성인복 브랜드의 아동복 브랜드의 출시가 증가하면서 다양한 행사와 경우에 알맞은 여아 드레스와 예복에 대한 새로운 디자인들을 선보이고 있다. 성인 드레스 못지 않게 여아 드레스도 점차 패션화 되어가고 유행하는 스타일과 색상, 소재 등의 미적인 측면에 치중하게 되었으며 여러 가지 다양하고 개성적인 디자인이 증가하고 있다. 이와 같은 현상들은 여성의 사회진출로 인한 수입 증가와 초산 연령이 늦춰지고 자녀수가 감소하게 된 사회적 변화에 기인한다. 부모의 구매력이 증가함과 동시에 적은 수의 자녀를 돋보이게 하고 싶은 심리가 작용한 결과 아동복 시장이 점점 고급화, 명품화 되어가고 있으며 다양한 문화행사와 기념일 등의 이벤트가 증가하게 된 것이다. 이러한 현실에서 다양한 행사와 경우에 알맞은 창조적인 여아 오뜨꾸뛰르 드레스를 디자인, 제작하여 제시하는 것은 한국 드레스 산업에 의미 있는 연구가 될 것이라 여긴다. 아동이 성인과 다른 하나의 주체로 인정되기 시작하면서 일부 귀족층의 자녀들 사이에 성인복과 다른 아동 자신의 복장을 갖추게 된 것은 19세기 빅토리아 시대부터이다. 이에 본 연구는 빅토리아 시대의 패션 스타일을 모티브로 실크리본자수 기법을 응용한 현대 여아 오뜨꾸뛰르 드레스 디자인을 제시하고자 한다. 실크리본자수는 18세기에 처음 나타나 빅토리아 시대에 많이 사용되었던 자수 기법 중 하나로 본 연구는 실크리본자수의 개념과 정의, 스티치 기법과 활용을 상세하게 소개하였으며 이 자수 기법을 중점적으로 이용하여 작품을 제작하였다. 본 연구의 목적은 현대 여아 드레스에 있어서 오뜨꾸뛰르의 예술적 가치를 높이기 위해 빅토리아 시대 성행했던 실크리본자수 기법을 장식기법으로 적극 도입하고, 빅토리아 시대의 패션 스타일을 분석, 응용하여 섬세하고 품격 있는 여아 오뜨꾸뛰르 드레스 디자인을 제시함으로써 한국 오뜨꾸뛰르 여아 드레스의 발전 방향을 모색함에 있다. 본 연구의 이론적 배경으로 영국 빅토리아 시대의 사회, 문화적인 배경과 함께 여성 및 여아복의 특징들을 살펴보았다. 또한 국내 오뜨꾸뛰르 아동복의 발달 과정을 살펴보고 현재 국내 및 해외 오뜨꾸뛰르 아동복 디자인의 표현기법 및 특징을 살펴보았으며 본 연구의 작품에 사용된 실크리본자수 기법의 개념과 정의, 방법에 대해 연구하고 이를 토대로 여아 오뜨꾸뛰르 작품 8벌을 제작하였다.;Today, needs for various and distinctive designs are increasing due to the industrialization and mechanization of costumes. As western-style parties are increasing in Gang-nam, girls' dresses are attracting much more attention than before. However, it is also true that girls' costumes that belong to the haute couture style are not yet common in Korea. My thesis connected Victorian girl's costume in the 19th century with contemporary girls' costume, and particularly explored the artistic value of haute couture in girls' costume using silk ribbon embroidery. In particular many ornamental techniques such as silhouettes, shapes of sleeves, machine pleats, tucking, smocking and embroidery were brought up in my thesis. My creations suggested the unique style of contemporary girls' dress considering the physical characteristics and the movement of children. In making dresses, I tried to pursue the artistic and aesthetic values of haute couture girls' dress using silk ribbon embroidery. Although silk ribbon embroidery is adequate for haute couture dress because it is very delicate and luxurious, there are not many precedents for which this embroidery was used. My goal was to combine silk ribbon embroidery and contemporary girls' dresses to represent luxuriousness and detail in girls' dresses. I was able to get the following results from this research: First, main costume characteristics that emerged in certain periods can be used as motifs for making costumes, and interpreted in various ways. Second, according to the analysis of girls' haute couture dresses they have creative and artistic characteristics with various fabrics. In particular the application of various ornament techniques is the direct representation that maximizes the luxurious image of girls' dresses, and it is also the main factor that decides the value of those dresses. Third, silk ribbon embroidery can represent various effects such as a three-dimensionality through the use of the thicknesses, colors and kinds of ribbon. Although bags, umbrellas and cushion covers are examples of today's products using silk ribbon embroidery, this technique can be used for the maximization of artistic value of girls' dresses. Forth, as far as silk ribbon embroidery is concerned, hand dyed silk ribbon, ribbon tape and wire ribbon were useful in making dresses look more luxurious and natural. Fifth, various forms of pearls, non-transparent beads and stones, rather than luminant beads such as crystal and spangle, are suitable for creating elegant and classic image because they match well with silk ribbon. Lastly, in terms of the choice of textiles, 100% silk fabrics were used for making dresses. Silk fabrics such as hand weaving silk and taffeta silk make dresses more elegant and classic when matched naturally with hand-dyed silk ribbon. In conclusion the suggestions of this thesis are as follows: Today the manufacturing of haute couture dresses that represent the personal value of designers is important in children's costume as well as adult dress. The R&D about children's costume in the future can contribute to the growth of this industry. In particular, the special styles of specific periods can be effectively applied to haute couture costume, and because the styles and ornament techniques are numerous, research about a more differentiated approach to children's costume should continue.
