Abstract

人類의 起源과 더불어 태어나, 人間의 가장 솔직하고도 자연스러운 感情表出의 手段으로 작위되어 왔던 舞踊은 , 그 기나긴 歷程을 거쳐 오는 동안 혹은 生活의 반려로서 혹은 가치소회의 수렁 속에서 나름의 浮沈을 겪어왔지만, 춤이 불러 일으키는 강렬한 자극과 충동으로 인해서 그 基盤은 人間의 의식 깊숙히 뿌리를 내려 왔다고 할 수 있겠다. 르네상스의 산물로 일컬어지는 Ballet는, 18세기 발레·로맨틱의 등장으로 요람의 꽃봉우리를 향기 짙게 개화시킬 수 있었고, 기교의 급진적 향상을 보았던 19세기의 탁월한 舞踊手가 펼치는 버듀오시티(Virtuosity)로 힘입어 샛별처럼 반짝했으니, 20세기는 바야흐로 일기 시작한 새로운 舞踊思想-(現實과 보다 밀착되면 人間의 내재속 깊은 곳까지 파고 들어가 영혼의 절규를 表出해 보려는 事實主義的 舞踊藝術의 創出을 열망하는 藝術史思想)-으로 일대 전환을 맞이하게 되는 것이다. 이러한 變化의 소용돌이 안에서 19세기의 발레를 바탕으로 새로운 20세기의 발레를 꽃피우려는 일련의 움직임 가운데, 가장 개성적이면서 독보적 存在로 꼽는 대표적 인물 가운데 Michel Fokine이 있다. 本 論文은 19세기의 발레가 기교편중 속에 그 빛을 잃어가려고 할 때, 홀연히 일어나 새로운 활력소를 주입하는 것으로 또 한번의 르네상스를 구현시킨 Fokine의 藝術思想과 발레에 끼친 공로를 재조명 해보는 것으로서, 앞으로서의 과제를 풀어가는 과정에서 必要로 하는 規範的 토양을 인출해 보려는데 그 뜻을 두고 있다. 이의 糾明을 위해서는 1. Fokine의 生涯와 作品系譜 2. Fokine의 思想 3. 作品 分析 4. 按舞 性向 의 순으로 硏究를 하고자 하며, 이를 통하여, 그가 사고하고 실행했던바 藝術世界의 참모습을 보다 가까이 조명해 볼 수 있을 것으로 생각해 본다. 硏究結果를 綜合해 보면 1. Serge Diaghilev를 中心으로 한 Ballets Russes는 Modern Ballet의 先驅者자 되었을 뿐 아니라, 관련된 여러 分野의 藝術發展에 促進劑 역학을 담당하였고, 특히 Ballets Russes 최초의 按舞家였던 Fokine은, 이러한 모든 倉曹作業을 진행하고 開化시킨 先驅者였다는 점을 확인할 수 있었다. 2. Fokine은 19세기 후반의 발레가, 表現方法과 內容에 있어 Slump에 빠져들었을 때, 새로운 思想과 改革의 意志로 舞踊의 歷史에 새로운 場을 열게해준 사람으로서, 자신의 思想을 集約시킨 按舞에서의 5原則을 통하여, Step은 항상 새로워야 하고 영혼과 육체가 渾然一體된 表現을 해야 함을 主張하였으며, Ballet로 하여금 종래의 舞踊과는 다르게 熱狂的이면서도 自由로운 身體의 흐름을 갖게 하는데 力点을 주었다는 것. 3. 가장 활발한 활동을 하였던 Ballets Russes시기에 만들어진 네개의 作品을 통해 按舞性向을 考察하였던바 : Fokine은 여러나라의 民俗舞踊에서 독특한 樣式을 채택하여 作品에 引用하였고, 男性舞踊手를 浮上시켰으며, 音樂과의 뛰어난 調和, 美術과의 제휴등, 탁월한 感覺으로 優秀한 作品들을 많이 만들었으며, 무엇보다도 傳統的樣式위에 새로운 改革精神을 가미한, 調和된 表現方法으로 創作活動에 임하였다는 점. 4. Fokine의 按舞向上은, 모든 作品에서 일관된 공통점을 찾을 수 없었고 매우 多樣한 特徵으로, 다만 그의 5原則에 입각한 여러 理論들을 시도하려는 노력을 하였을 뿐, 완벽하게 구축된 按舞의 특성은 없다고 본다. 그러나 이러한 다양한 시도는 B. Nijinsky에게 Modern Ballet를, L·F·Massine에게 연극적 Ballet를, G·Balanchine에게 음악적 Ballet를 완성하게 한 것 등, 후세대의 按舞家들에게 훌륭하고 뚜렷한 里程標的 역할을 하였다는 点으로 요약할 수 있겠다.;Dance, which grew in the parallel with beginning of men, is a fundamental method through which men express their feeling. It established its base throughout the long history. Its historical development started to proceed since the ballet founded its Base firmly in the 18th century, reached at 19th century golden age through technical development and appearance of excellent dancers, and evoked romanticism in art, the essential and realistic dance was born by the desire of truer dance in the 20th century. It was michel fokine who florished the 20th century's ballet on the base of the 19th century's one. In this thesis, research Michel Fokins, Who was Russian dancer, Choreographer, and a teacher and revired 19th century's ballet when it was in depression. Through recalling his innovation and accomplishment in dance history, and approaching his characteristics in choreography in consideration of the qualities of his works, intend to set a category for ballet reformer. In pursurance of the objectivity in was necessary for the writer to conduct several studies on; 1. The carre and genealogy of Fokine 2. Fokine's idea 3. Research of Fokin's works 4. Qualities of choreography. Writer believe this will help for us to come near to Fokine's artistic world which trien to accomplish. The result of this attempt will be summerized as follows with imphasis on; First, fokine have found opened a new era in the dance history by a new idea and a will toward innovations when ballet was deteriorated and induldged in physical techniques in the late 19th century. Secone, fokine endowed ballet with more enthusiastic and freer physical fluency than the past dance, emerged mald dancers and introduced unique styles derived from folk dances of different countries. Third, besides invented excellent works of peculier sense through an expressive method combinated the traditional style of classic ballet and the new innovative ideas. these works are creation of special ralues and teachings with their combination with music and association with fine arts. Until today the have been handed down to us, new understanding influenced related arts in general as well as the field of dance and the valuable enough to kept his firm position in dance history.
