敎育에 있어서 마이크로컴퓨터 活用에 관한 硏究

Abstract

오늘날 敎育需要의 量的 팽창에 따른 質的 低下의 問題는 敎育의 심각한 당면과제가 되었다. 이에 敎育效果를 極大化시키기 위한 한 방안으로 敎授 - 學習過程에 컴퓨터가 도입이 되어 CAI(Computer - Assisted Instruction)가 適用되었으나, 종전의 CAI는 價格과 構造의 복잡성으로 인하여 使用이 어렵고 局部 터미널의 信賴度가 없어서 크게 適用되지 못해왔다. 그러나 마이크로컴퓨터(Microcomputer)는 이런 問題를 해소할 수 있게되어, 마이크로컴퓨터를 敎育에 適用해서 效率的인 學習을 提供하는 종래의 大型 CAI의 活用 대신에 Micro-CAI(Microcomputer - Assisted Instruction)의 活用에 관한 硏究가 現代 敎育에 크게 요구되고 있다. 本 硏究의 目的은 마이크로컴퓨터를 敎授 - 學習過程에 適用하는 理論的 考察과 敎授體制 및 교수프로그램 開發戰略에 관하여 考察하며, 外國에 있어서의 Micro-CAI 시스템이 어떻게 適用되고 있는지와 그 敎育的 效果에 관해 硏究 考察하는 것이다. 本 硏究는 文獻硏究方法이며, 硏究內容은 다음과 같다. 1. Micro-CAI에 대한 槪念 및 特性을 알아보고, 個別學習과 Micro-CAI와의 관련된 理論的 考察과, Micro-CAI를 適用하였을 경우 敎育的 效果와 適用結果를 調査해 보았다. 또한 Micro - CAI 適用上의 問題點도 考察하였다. 2. Micro - CAI 시스템의 敎授體制 및 교수프로그램을 硏究 考察하기 위해서, 먼저 Micro - CAI 시스템의 構成要素를 하드웨어, 소프트웨어, 코스웨어(교수프로그램), 人的要素등 네부분으로 나누어 살펴 보았으며, Micro - CAI 시스템의 敎授傳達體系인 Stand-alone 시스템을 순수한 Stand-alone시스템과 network 시스템에 연결하는 Stand-alone 시스템으로 구분하여 考察하였다. 또한 Micro - CAI 시스템에서 가장 중용한 코스웨어 즉 敎授프로그램을 開發 活用하기 위해, 그 開發戰略을 敎授計劃과 設計, 敎授프로그램 製作, 評價, 使用認可過程으로 나누어서 考察하였으며, Micro - CAI 시스템에서 가장 널리 使用되는 敎授프로그램의 類型들을 調査 硏究하였다. 3. 敎育에 있어서의 마이크로컴퓨터의 適用 實際를, 서유럽의 몇몇 나라의 狀態에서 알아보고, 現在 미국에서 開發된 Micro - CAI 시스템인 PLATO V (Programmed Logic for Automatic Teaching Operation V) 시스템과 Regency-Carroll 시스템에 대해 考察하였다. Micro - CAI는 效率的인 敎授 - 學習過程을 제공하여 특히 個別學習을 통해 學習者 個個人의 個人差를 고려한 學習을 가능하게 해주며, 또한 평생교육 (Continuing Education)에 理想的인 敎授方法이며, 現代와 미래사회의 선두적인 敎授方法이 될 것이다. 우리나라의 Micro - CAI의 適用은 아직 요원하며, 한국과학기술연구소(KAIST)에서 CAI시스템인 PLATO(Programmed Logic for Automatic Teaching Operation)시스템을 硏究 開發하고 있으며, 그곳의 터미널을 마이크로프로세서(microprocessor)로 使用하기도 하지만 完全한 Micro - CAI 시스템은 아니다. 그러나 마이크로컴퓨터는 구입가격이 낮기 때문에 각 學校등에서 구입이 可能하며, 가까운 將來에 Micro - CAI 시스템이 많이 活用될 것이다. 우리의 敎育 實情에 맞게 Micro - CAI를 適用시키기 위해서는 Micro - CAI에 대해 충분히 硏究하고 우리의 敎育에 맞는 Micro - CAI 시스템을 硏究 開發해야 할 것이다.;The problem of qualitative decrease due to quantitative increase of educational demand, nowadays, becomes very urgent in education. As a sort of methods to maximize the educational effects, computer had application to teaching-learning process and CAI (Computer Assisted Instruction) has been utilized. However, those computers were difficult to use because of high cost and sophisicated structure, and not utilized widely because of unreliability of local terminal. Microcomputer can overcome those problems. Therefore, it is greatly required to have application to microcomputer for furnishing the effective instructional method, and to study the method for application of the Micro-CAI (Microcomputer Assisted Instruction) in education, instead of the former large scale CAI. The purpose of this study is to review the theory, the instructional system, and developmental strategy of Micro-CAI system in teaching-learning process, and to find the educational effect and the present status of Micro-CAI system in foreign countries. As a survey of the literature about Micro-CAI system, the contents are as follows; 1. To define the concept and characteristics of Micro-CAI, and to review the relation between the individualized instruction and Micro-CAI, and also to investigate the educational effect and the result and problems relating to the application of Micro-CAI in teaching-learning process. 2. In order to review the instructional system and instructional program (courseware) of Micro-CAI system, first, the components of Micro-CAI system were classified as follows; hardware, software, courseware (instructional program), personnel. Also, the stand-alone system which is the delivery system of Micro-CAI system was reviewed. In order to study the developmental strategy of instructional program which is the most important component among the Micro-CAI system, the planning and authoring, evaluating, utilizing process were researched. The most popular types of instructional program were reviewed. 3. To review of several Micro-CAI systems in education. The applications of Micro-CAI in West-Europes and PLATO V (Programmed Logic for Automatic Teaching Operation V) system and regency-carroll system in U.S.A. were investigated. Micro-CAI system permits the efficient teaching-learning process, and individualized instruction which meets individual defferences, also is an ideal instructional method, and will be a leading instructional method in modern and future society. In Korea, the application of Micro-CAI system in education has not been developed yet. KAIST has been studied and developed PLATO system, but microcomputer system has not been applied. However, it will be applied in the near future because of dramatically low cost. Therefore it will be necessary to study Micro-CAI system thoroughly and to develop the proper coursewares of Micro-CAI system for our own education.
