Abstract
The purpose of this study was to determine the status of physical education for the educable mentally retarded in special class and special school in elementary schools. A questionnaire developed by the investigator of the study was mailed to 97 teachers who are teaching at the special schools for educable mentally retared children. The data was analyzed by percentages in each area of problems surveyed. The results were as follows : 1. The teachers for special class and special school recognized that management of physical educate were the average level. 2. The physical education was highly recognized that the concept physical education was movement education by the teachers for special class and special school. 3. The teachers who were teaching physical education satisfied in teaching marterials. 4. The results revealed the weakness of present physical educational program. Also the mainly contents of physical education were oriented in instrument play, field race game, ball game, which were the season events, dance and health education were not offered at all school levels. 5. The teaching method of physical education was administered by individual groups according to their handicapped conditions. 6. Tests for physical fitness and physical constitution were held on every year. Teachers felt the importance and the need of physical fitness and physical constitution Test. 7. The effect of the special physical education as being important part in general curriculum, was estimated by 93.8% of teachers.;體育은 身體活動을 通한 全人敎育으로서 個人의 運動可能性을 發達시키고 運動과 關聯된 反應에서부터 일어나는 個人의 行動修正을 圖謀할 수 있는 全 敎育課程의 一面으로서 體育敎育은 兒童들의 敎育에서 重要한 科目이다. 特히 歷史가 짧은 特殊學級내지 特殊學敎의 敎育課程中 體育敎育은 兒童들에게 重要함에도 不拘하고 現在 敎育可能級 精薄兒를 指導하고 있는 敎師들의 體育哲學에 對한 理解不足으로 身體에 局限된 敎育으로 認識되고 있는 實情이다. 그러므로 本 硏究에는 敎育可能級 精神薄弱兒의 體育에 關한 實態調査를 通해 敎育課程 分析과 體育敎育 實態를 把握하고 特殊體育 프로그램 開發을 爲한 基礎資料 活用方案을 提示하는데 焦点을 두었다. 調査方法으로는 特殊學級 敎師와 現行 敎育可能級兒童을 指導하고 있는 特殊學校 敎師를 對象으로 하여 體育敎育現況을 묻는 25個問項으로 設問紙를 構成하고 있고 現在 提示된 體育敎育過程 目標를 Anthony, Barrow, Bucher의 分類에 依한 分析을 土臺로 다음과 같은 結論을 얻었다. 1. 特殊學級(校) 敎師는 體育敎育 運營을 爲한 諸般 問題를 全般的으로 普通水準으로 認識하고 있다. 2. 體育槪念에 對해서는 움직임 敎育이란 槪念으로서 認識하고 있는 敎師가 大部分이다. 3. 體育을 가르치는 敎師드의 滿足度는 過半數 以上이 不滿足을 表示하고 있다. 4. 體育프로그램 存在 與否에 對해서는 貧弱하게 反應을 보였으며, 體育內容은 器械놀이, 陸上놀이, 공놀이를 많이 包含하며 季節놀이, 舞踊, 保健衛生은 全혀 實施하지 못하는 實情이었다. 5. 體育授業 指導에 있어서는 過半數 以上이 障碍條件을 考慮하여 그룹으로 實施하고 있었으며 어느 過程 水準에 오를때까지 反復修業과 個人, 그룹指導를 贊成하고 있었다. 6. 體力 및 體質檢査는 每年 1回에 걸쳐 實施하고 있었으며 大部分이 檢査의 必要性을 認識하고 있었다. 7. 學級兒童의 運動技能狀態는 小筋肉, 大筋肉, 基本運動 順으로 運動技能 障碍를 나타내고 있었다. 8. 特殊體育 效果에 對해서는 93.8%가 重要性을 認識하고 있었으며 學習影響에 대해서는 90.88%의 效果가 있다고 肯定的으로 反應을 보였다.
