Ludwig van Beethoven의 현악사중주에 관한 분석 연구

Abstract

베에토벤(Ludwig van Beethoven 1770∼1827)은 고전주의 음악의 말기에서 낭만주의 음악의 초기에 걸쳐 활약한 독일이 낳은 위대한 음악가이다. 하이든(Franz J. Haydn 1732∼1809)과 모짜르트(wolfgang Amadeus Mozant 1756∼1791)에 의해 완성된 고전파 음악의 전통위에서 매우 독창적인 양식으로 작곡을 하였으며, 이러한 요소들이 19세기 낭만파 음악가들에게 많은 영향을 끼쳤다. 특히 베토벤은 고전파 음악의 형식주의, 전통주의, 객관성, 명확성, 단순성 등을 벗어나 자유로운 감정표출이라든가 형식구조에 있어서의 자유로운 처리를 통해서 새로운 전통을 낳게 되었다. 베토벤의 음악 중에서도 9개의 교향곡을 중심으로 그가 평생 동안 계속 썼던 32곡의 피아노 소나타에서 특히 작곡기법상의 원숙함을 찾아 볼 수 있다. 그러나 그의 예술의 정신적 완성과정을 보려면 16곡의 현악4중주곡이 가장 적절하다. 현악 4중주곡은 제일 먼저 하이든에게서 그 전형이 이루어졌으며 이어서 모짜르트가 1782년부터 85년에 걸려 작곡하여 하이든에게 헌정한 6곡 「하이든 4중주곡」에 의해 한층 높은 예술성을 간직하게 되었다. 그리하여 모짜르트는 거꾸로 하이든에게 영향을 주게까지 되었다. 그러나 현악4중주곡이 참된 예술성이 담긴 형식으로 완성해 놓은 것은 베토벤의 업적에 속한다고 하겠다. 본 논문에서는 베토벤의 현악4중주곡을 중심으로 한 작품경향을 각기별로 나누어 기술하고, 특히 후기작품 중에서 마지막 작품이며 가장 원숙한 현악4중주곡인 op.135를 분석하였으며 이 논문의 요약은 다음과 같다. Ⅰ. 서론 베토벤 생애의 일부와 고전파 시대의 사상적, 시대적 배경이 베토벤에게 끼친 영향과 그의 작품 중 실내악부문 및 현악4중주곡에 관하여 언급한다. Ⅱ. 베토벤 현악4중주곡의 작품경향 현악4중주의 유래와 발전과정에 대해 언급한 다음 제1기, 제2기, 제3기로 나누어 현악4중주의 성립과정과 작품경향을 살펴본다. Ⅲ. Op.135 F장조 작품분석 후기 현악4중주곡의 특징과 연관시켜 Op.135의 각 악장을 분석하여 형식, 화성 melody, 리듬, 조성, 종지등과 같은 베토벤 특유의 여러 가지 수법을 살펴본다. 필자는 이상과 같이 베토벤 현악4중주곡을 중심으로 그의 독창적인 음악양식을 살펴봄으로써 음형(figure)분석을 통해 음(tone) 동기(motive), 악구(phrase)를 알 수 있으며 음악사상에 있어서 새로운 길을 연 베토벤의 위대성을 파악할 수 있게 되었다.;Ludwig van Beethoven (1770-1827) is one of the greatest composers from Germany, who was active from the end of the classical Period to the beginning of the Romantic Period. He composed his works in a unique style on the basis of the traditional classical music which was completed by Franz J. Haydn (1732-1809) and Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart (1756-1791). And these elements in his works influenced many Romantic composers in the 19th century. Especially, Beethoven gave a birth to a new tradition, i.e., free expression of emotion against the formalism, traditionalism, restraint of emotion, objectivity, correctness, simplicity of the Classical music, and liberal handling in the structure of form. We can find Beethoven's maturity of compositional techniques in his 9 symphonies and 32 piano sonatas which composed throughout his whole life. String Quartet was formed at first by Haydn, and higher artistic techniques can be found in 6 "Haydn Quartets" which were composed by Mozart in 1782-85 dedicated to Haydn. But it should be attributed to the merits of Beethoven that he has completed string quartets with highest artistic techniques. In this thesis, this writer presented the characteristics of Beethoven's string quartets in classifying them into respective periods. Especially this writer analyzed Op. 135, which is his last and maturest. String quartet among the work of his 3 period. The sumnary of the thesis is as follows : Ⅰ. Introduction Mentions about the life of Beethoven. Studies about the influence on Beethoven by the thought and historical background of classical Music. Mentions about chamber music and String quartet among his work. Ⅱ. Process of formation of Beethoven's string quartets. Divides string quartet into three periods-first, second, third. And studies about the characteristics of String quartet. Ⅲ. Analysis of Op. 135, F major Studies about Beethoven's unique and various techniques of form, harmony, melody, rhythm, tonality and coda. By studying his unique musical style in string quartets, this writer has learned about figure, tone, motive, phrase, and also has learned the greatness of Beethoven, who created a new tradition in the musical thought.
