天地創造의 이미지 형상화에 관한 연구

Abstract

옛날이나 지금이나 동·서양을 무론하고 종교는 보편적인 인간활동 중의 하나이다. 종교는 예술의 창작을 촉진시켰고 여러 민족들은 예술작품속에 그들의 직관과 표상들을 기록해왔으며 그 예술속에서 발견하였던 욕구의 충족은 내적으로 종교와 밀접하게 결합되어 있었다. 이는 원시사회로부터 문명사회에 이르기까지 실로 않은 예술품들에 종교적 향취가 서려 있는 것을 보면 알 수 있다. 종교( 기독교 )는 論者의 내면세계에 가장 깊이 작용하고 있는 바 작품활동에까지 영향을 미치게 되었다. 이에 본 論春는 성서에 기록된 천지창조의 내용의 이미지 형상화에 관한 연구를 위해 심오한 자연섭리 속에서 조형적 요소를 축출하여 미적으로 승화시켜 論春의 내면적 메세지를 전달하기 위함에 연구의 목적을 두었다. 이를 위한 이론적 배경으로 종교와 인간, 종교와 예술과의 관계에 대해 고찰해 보고, 작품제작을 위한 재료, 기법등을 연구함으로써 6점의 작품을 제작하는 과정에서 다음과 같은 결론을 얻었다. 첫째, 인간과 항상 접해왔고 끊임없는 관심과 동경의 대상이 되어왔던 자연을 예술가는 그대로 묘사하는 것이 아니라 자기 나름대로의 이미지로 재창조하여 왔다. 둘째, 작품의 소재인 자연은 천지 창조의 이미지를 표현하기에 적절한 것이었고 작품제작 과정에서 연구자는 신이 창조하신 우주의 조화로운 질서를 재발견할 수 있었다. 셋째, 다양하게 표현될 수 있는 전사영법은 작가의 작품세계를 구현하는데 독특한 효과를 나타낼 수 있었다. 네째, 작품 제작시 사용한 실은 작품의 이미지를 시각적으로 강하게 appeal 하는데 효과적인 재료였다. 한편, 작품제작 과정에서 발견한 문제점은 다음과 같다. 첫째, 다리미에 의한 전사염료의 발색효과, 온도에 따른 색상 변화 파악이 어려웠다. 둘째, 천지창조의 이미지 둘째날∼다섯째날의 5작품은 색상과 구도에 있어서 통일감이 있었지만 첫째날의 빛의 이미지 표현과는 시각적으로 다소 이질감을 느끼게 하였다. 이에 본 연구자는 계속적 연구와 실험을 통해서 문제점을 분석하여 보다 높은 차원의 염색공예의 창조에 노력하고자 한다.;This study his dealt with Nature, through which potential applicability of theories or opinions of so called Art ＆ Religion or Human ＆ Religion to actual creational works could be proved and recognized with the topic images pertaining to the contents of the Creation being extracted in relation to formative aspects, being sublimated aesthetically and finally being activated as a vehicle for the expression or deliverance of inner-shaped and-emerged messages. After some theological investigations by which works are able to have substance and occur in the context, attention then turned to actual working techniques including effects and problems in using transcription dyeing method. Conclusions from over six pieces of working the both theological and practical precesses are as follows: 1. Evidence say that artists have recreated nature with their own image beyond mere description. 2. It appears most appropriate to express the image of the Creation by employing Nature as the requireal theme in terms of its harmony and order. 3. Transcription dyeing technique appears best suited for realizing the world of work with a variety and uniqueness. 4. Problems in transcription dyeing material using were found during work; that is, it is shown to be difficult for a worker to grasp effects of color fading by the ironing and the variation of color according to temperature.
