中等學校 地理科 學習에서의 敎育媒體 活用에 關한 硏究

Abstract

情報化 時代에 살고 있는 현대인들은 다양한 媒體를 통해서 近,遠距離 地域의 사회 현상의 변화를 매우 빠르게 인식할 수 있는 편리한 생활을 한다. 이러한 기술의 발달로 교육 내용의 量的, 質的인 擴大가 이루어졌을 뿐 아니라, 학습자의 문화 환경도 매우 다양해져서 종전의 학습 자료와 학습지도 방법의 사용이 學習 動機 誘發에 있어서 그 영향력이 약화된 실정이다. 특히, 지리과 학습은 자연 과학과 사회 과학을 연계하는 학과목으로 地表上에 나타나는 空間 組織의 活用이 더 필요하다. 본 연구의 목적도 이러한 지리 교육의 특성에 따른 효율적인 학습지도 방법으로서 교육 매체의 활용 실태 및 활용 방안을 적용시켜 살펴보는데 있다. 이 연구를 위해서 서울시 중. 고등학교 지리 교사를 대상으로 설문조사를 하였는데, 그 설문 내용은 학습지도의 방법, 학습 지도시에 이용되는 교육 매체의 종류 및 활용 시기, 효율성의 정도 그리고 지리 학습 지도 방법에 있어서의 개선점 등으로 구성하였다. 구체적인 연구 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 교사들이 학습 지도시 고려하는 사항은 학습자의 흥미, 학습내용의 구조화, 학습자의 이해 등으로 교육 매체를 활용했을 때의 효용도는 크다. 둘째, 교육 매체의 활용이 실제로 잘 안돼는 이유는 교과 내용에 따른 진도의 지장, 이용 시설의 절대 부족이다. 셋째, 각 학교에 보유하고 있는 교육 매체의 종류로는 교실용 벽지도, 지구의, 괴도, 사진 자료, 백과 사전류로 주로 靜的인 견학 視學 媒體에 의존하고 있으며, 지리 학습에 가장 필요로 하는 교육 매체는 VTR, Slide등의 動的인 視聽覺 媒體이다. 넷째, 교사들이 이론적으로는 효율적인 학습 지도 방법을 잘 인식하고 있으면서도 실제 수업에서는 단위 시간 수의 부족, 지도 부담, 이용 시설의 부족, 새로운 교육 매체의 활용에 대한 이해 부족 등으로 인하여 교과서 위주의 注入式 敎育이 이루어지고 있다. 이와 같이, 지리과 학습의 효율적인 학습 지도를 위하여는 교육 매체의 활용이 매우 유용한 것이지만, 실제 교육 현장에서는 아직 그 활용이 미비한 실정이다. 그러나, 보다 적극적으로 교사들이 효율적인 학습 지도 체제를 강구하여 학생들의 地理的인 思考力 增進에 도움이 되도록 해야 할 것이다.;The Moderns, living in the information age, have coveniences to recognize rapid changes of social phenomenon of far and near area through various medial. For these technical development, educational contents in quality and quantity ahve been expanded, and cultural environment of students have become diversified. so the usage of previous learning materials and teaching methods have been weakened to produce learning motive. Especially, geography classwork, linking natural science with social science, depends mainly on direct and indirect observation and data analysis to understand cause ＆ effect interaction of pattern of spatial organization in the earth surface. The purpose of this study, concerning with these characteristics of geographic education, is applicating methods of the utilization of instructional media as the effective teaching method. For this study, I investigated into secondary school teachers in Seoul with questionaire of the teaching method, the kinds and use a time of instructional media in teaching, the degree of effectiveness and improvement in geographic teaching method. Concrete results in this study are as follows. First, teacher's considering points in teaching are in student's interest, organization of learning contents, student's understanding and so on, and the use of instructional media is effective. Second, the reasons of difficulties in the utilization of instructional media are burden of teaching schedule and the ultimate shortage of available educational utilities. Third, instructional media equipped with most schools are mainly depend on statistic visual media such as wall map, globe, charts, photographic materials and encyclopedias, on the other hand, the most necessary instructional media are dynamic audio-visual media such as VTR, Slide and so on. Forth, even though teachers theoretically reconige well what the effective teaching methods are, they are actually practicing so called the injectional education mainly focused on the text book because of the shortage of unit teaching time and available utilites, schedule burden and low understanding of utilization of new instructional media. As mentioned above, for the effective teaching in geographic learning, the utilization of instructional media is of great value, but in actual educational field the utilization of instructional media is very slight yet. But the most important thing is, teachers should make more positive efforts to seek more effective teaching system to improve student's geographic thinking power.
