이집트 복식에 나타난 상징성을 응용한 현대의상디자인

Abstract

Ancient Egyptian dress culture always is a subject of considerable amazement with its relics, sculptures, wall paintings and other documents. It is because of that the Egyptian dress culture has a unique style of its own, and therefore gives us modern people a certain aesthetic inspiration. Based on this point, this study has been investigating the dress patterns of ancient Egyptian Pictures, and rediscovering the aesthetic consciousness underlying them, to employ those unique fashions into modern designs, and ultimately to give some help in a series of effort for pursuing certain available design formation. As the theoretical model, overall Egyptian art history and the rich symbolisms of the wall paintings and relics in Tutankhamen tomb has been examined to find the symbolic aesthetic consciousness in Egyptian dress culture. In proceeding this investigation, actual 8 design works have been made adopting the above symbolisms in order to express the brilliant and mysterious beauty, and using various kind of beads as expressional materials to elevate the effects of that beauty. And finally wool crape, as a dress cloth, has been designed into a simple form to make dresses practical. Throughout this research, the symbolic dress Patterns of ancient Egypt have been employed into actual dress making as partial ornaments to develop certain formative designs. and to understand the value of that ancient culture againg Consequently, this study has been trying to present the effect and possivility of harmonizing the splendid styles of ancient dress culture and those of modern times.;고대 이집트 복식문화는 유품, 조작 벽화, 기록등을 통하여 우리에게 많은 감탄을 불러 일으킨다. 이것은 이집트 복식문화가 독특한 양식을 나타내고 있고 또 고대의 복식이면서 현대인에게 미적인 영감을 주기 때문이다. 본 논문은 이 점에 착안하여 이집트 복식에 나타난 문양을 고찰하여 본 후 그 기저에 흐르는 미의식을 재발견하여, 나아가 그 독특한 양식을 현대 의상에 도입하여 조형적 가치 추구에 작은 도움이 되고자 한다. 이론적 배경으로는 전반적인 이집트 미술의 흐름과 투탕카멘분묘의 벽화나 유물에서 풍부하게 사용된 상징성의 재정리를 통해 이집트 복식문화가 내포하고 있는 상징적 미의식에 대해 고찰해 보았다. 작품은 실물 의상 8점으로 제작하였으며 이집트의 상징성을 응용하여 여기서 느껴지는 화려하고 신비스러운 아름다움을 표현하려 하였으며, 표현 재료로는 다양한 종류의 비즈를 이용하여 더욱 아름다운 효과를 시도하였고 실용적인 의상이 되도록 울 크레이프를 소재로 형태를 심플하게 하였다. 본 연구를 통하여 이집트의 상징적 문양들을 옷의 일부분에 장식함으로서, 조형적인 디자인 개발에 주력했으며, 고대 복식의 가치를 재인식하면서 고대 복식의 멋과 현대 복식의 접목을 통해 환경에 적응하고 체형에 조화되는 복식의 효과의 가능성을 제시하였다.
