"꿈" 표현에 의한 시각 언어에 관한 연구

Abstract

Most of the clutures in the past were originated from and affected by dreams. However, in the scientific age we live in, the importance of dreams to human psychics, activities, and cultures is foolishly ignored thus failing to utilize one of the most important sources of imaginations and creativity for human beings. Dreams do not lie; that is, in dreams, our unconscious thoughts and emotions are honestly and freely expressed. As a first step, I have tried to define dreams in order to become more aware of meanings and symbols that frequently appear in dreams. A first scientific analysis on dreams was attempted by Freud in 1899. However. it is a well known fact that the ancient Greeks had widely used various symbols of dreams to create their legends. Also, a tribe known as Senones had used their dreams as a cohesive force on its people. I have discussed these topics in this paper. Art requires creativity and Imaginations. In this paper, I have analyzed the influences of surrealistic paintings that attempt to create rich visual images by tapping into human unconsciousness. By doing so, I have pointed out how dreams can be utilized in creating art works. Also, I have discussed processes of analyzing dreams and applying them in creative works rationally. Also, frequently appearing visual images and symbols are analyzed from various perspectives. Furthermore, I have specified various ways of utilizing dreams as creative forces for art works. Dreams can be applied in creating art works when the artists are free, creative, and possess dynamic spirits. Therefore, only those artists capable of dreaming can truly be creative. With these dreams, artists can experiment with their creativity.;과거 대부분의 문화들은 꿈의 세계에서 유래된 것이었다. 그러나 진보적인 현대는 꿈을 무시함으로써 자아를 잃어버리고 있는지 모른다. 꿈은 우리 마음속의 깊은 곳에 깔려있는 생각이나 의도를 숨김없이 드러내기 때문에 꿈을 만들어 내는 것은 잠재의식이라 할 수 있다. 그러므로 꿈이 갖는 의미와 상징들을 새롭게 이해해 보기 위해서 먼저 꿈이란 무엇인가에 대한 의문을 제기하고 꿈을 정의해 보았다. 꿈에 대한 역사는 현대의학에서 꿈을 중요하게 여기데 된 1899년 프로이드에 의해서 였다고 할 수 있지만, 좀 더 거슬러 올라가 그리스의 신화적 역사를 고찰해 보고 적극적인 꿈의 작업으로 결속력을 지녔던 세노이족 또한 꿈의 역사에서 다루어 보았다. 예술은 창조적 사고를 요구하며, 의식의 생명력을 필요로 하고 있다. 그래서 꿈이 예술에 적용될 경우 풍부한 효과를 얻을 수 있는 방법을 무의식의 탐구에서 얻어진 초현실주의 미술을 통해 알아 보았다. 꿈을 객관화하여 창조적 사고로 발전시킬 수 있도록 하기 위한 구체적인 방법을 제시하고 꿈의 시각적 상징을 해석해 보는 작업도 제시하였다. 작품제작과 분석에 있어서는 매일의 꿈을 기록하고 그것을 작품화하기 위해서 꿈의 상징을 분석해 보며 창조적 사고의 풍부함을 갖기 위한 실험적 계기를 갖도록 하였다. 꿈의 작업은 깨어있는 자아, 능동적인 상상력일 때 창조적 자아로서의 예술적 만족을 준다. 그러므로 꿈을 꾸는 자만이 꿈의 작업을 할 수 있으며, 그것은 또 다른 예술표현의 가능성을 마련해 준다.
