자아개념의 시각적 표현에 관한 연구

Abstract

예술가가 그의 예술작품 속에서 그의 개성을 찾고 눈부신 조형언어를 찾아낼때 최대의 희열을 느낀다는 것은 어쩌면 당연한 일일 것이다. 미술에 있어서 작품의 성향은 대체로 작가의 환경에서 얻어지는 일상성에 표현을 둔다. 일상성의 개념은 시간과 공간이 존재하는 '환경' 속에서 찾을 수가 있는 것이다. 톨스토이는 "자신이 경험한 감정을 자기 자신 속에 불러 일으켜지고 난 다음에는 운동, 선, 색채, 소리 또는 말에 의한 표현 양식에 의해서 다른 사람들을 그와 같은 감정을 경험하도록 그 감정을 전달한다 - 이것이 예술 활동이다" 라고 예술 과정에 대해 정의 하였다. 본 연구는 작품을 분석함에 있어 내용적인 면으로는 작품의 근간을 이루는 자아개념에 대하여 규명을 하고, 본인의 자아개념 형성에 1차적으로 가장 중요한 역할을 한 가정에서의 성장 배경과 발달을 살펴보아 자아개념 형성과정을 설명하였으며, 작품의 형식적인 표현 방법에 관하여는 작품에 나타난 소재나 색채, collage기법 그리고 장식성을 자아개념과 관련지어 살펴 보았다. 일상속에서 얻을 수 있는 작품 7점을 통해 본인은 내적인 갈등과 상황에 적응하고자 하는 사고 경향 등 의식세계를 표현하여 이로써 본인의 가치 체계를 조명해 보고자 하였다.;It would be natural for a artist to feel in great ecstacy when he finds his character and splendid words in his artwork. The orientation of the work in the area of the painting generally depends on the representation of the ordinariness experienced by the artist in daily life. The concept of ordinariness can be found in the circumstances where time and space exist. L. Tolstoy has defined the process of art as "the activity through which one transmits an emotion that he has himself felt to another person through various methods of expressions, such as movement, line, color, sound, and words, so that the other person is able to experience that same emotion himself." This study analyzes a peice of artwork on two levels, content and form. In terms of content, the purpose is twofold--to explain the self-consciousness which lies at the basis of these pieces of artwork, and to explain how familial growth background and developmental experience which constitutes the most important aspect of the formation of this self-consciousness should be. In terms of form, this study scrutinizes the relationship between self-consciousness and various subject material, color, collage technique, and decoration. Through the analysis of seven pieces of everyday artwork, the artist has presented his own value system by way of expressing the conscious ambivalence and the tendency of conformity to environment and some other way of thinking.
