Abstract
Primitive Art' is refered to the art in early ancient age, and that of native peoples. Even today, we can find some kind of Primitive Art in some places like Indian District in north America, Alaska, Asia, South Pacific and Africa. Besides the contributions of the Primitive Art for keeping their lives, it reflects a 'Ultimate purpose' of their living. Therefore, in their Art, a 'Symbolic form' is found, which contains the 'image of their life itself' and the 'cosmic principles' through which they are trying to over come their reality. these 'Symbolic forms' make us feel a 'nostalgia' because it invokes us the 'lost nature' disrupted by modern mechanized culture and the yearning for recovering those natures. And also it still opens many potentials of Symbolic forms applicability to our modern life. That Symbolic forms gives us an inspiration through the same imaginary process into the nature of mankind, And I found that the new possibility for 'Dyeing' exists in their especially native people's 'Symbolized Patterns'. So the overall description of their Art and the characteristics and their meaning of the' Symbolic form' is studied. Using a few Geometric Motive among these symbols, Abstractive expression for modern dyeing is emphasized. What's concluded is that the intrinsic image in their 'Symbolic form' is so' common and fundamental that it makes us feel the same emotions. Also presented is the applicability of their Art to the 'Modern Dyeing' and 'Art for living' by focusing their work for every day living such as clothes, weaving, ceramic and ornament and so forth. Based on these works, Native Arts has many potentials for a new plasticism in our future life, many creative exression can be pursued for modern Dyeing.
