「柳綠傳」 硏究

Abstract

본 論文은 古代小說 「柳緣傳」의 文學的 性格에 대한 綜合的인 檢討를 위한 硏究이다. 하나의 作品은 作品 自體로서의 개별적 性格과 類型的 性格이 병행해서 검토될 때 완전한 理解가 가능하리라 생각한다. 이런 점에 입각하여 「柳緣傳」에 대한, 文學作品으로서의 개별적 性格을 검토해 보았다. 「柳緣傳」은 朝鮮 仁祖 때를 背景으로 하여 기생과 양반의 신분을 초월한 사랑을 내용으로 한 愛情小說이다. 이 作品은 소재의 性格上 남녀의 '婚姻' 문제를 다룬 作品으로, 古代의 說話에서부터 이어져 내려온 愛情談의 傳統을 이어받아 朝鮮後期에 하나의 小說로 創作된 作品이다. 作品의 展開上 남녀 주인공의 一代記를 다루는 傳記的 類型을 따르고 있으나, 出生의 過程이 생략되어 있고 주인공의 現世的 삶으로만 제시되어 있어 특징적이다. 특히 作品의 構成方式은 남녀 주인공의 '만남-이별(고난)-재결합'을 이루는 과정에서의 婚事障碍 問題를 중점적으로 다루고 있다. 남녀 주인공은 愛情의 成就를 가장 큰 가치로 여기고 고난을 극복하여 完全한 結合을 이룬다. 人物을 살펴본 결과, 남녀 주인공은 愛情을 중시하며 일상적 삶을 지향하는 人物임이 밝혀졌다. 結合을 방해하는 적대자가 人物로 제시되지 않고 戰爭이라는 社會的 사건으로 설정되어, 인물간의 관계는 비교적 단순하게 처리되어 있다. 「柳綠傳」은 主題면에서 신분이 다른 남녀 주인공의 愛情의 성취를 통하여 人間 平等思想을 具現한 作品으로서 意義를 지닌다. 「柳緣傳」은 기생과 양반의 신분을 초월한 愛情을 다루었다는 점에서 「春香傳」을 비롯한 朝鮮後期 신분갈등형 愛情小說과 소재적 유사성을 지니면서, 愛情의 실현과정에 있어서는 「九雲夢」과 유사한 전개방식을 보이고 있다. 「柳綠傳」은 愛情實現 過程에서 한 남자와 한 여자의 희생적인 사랑을 주된 테마로 다룬 意識的 特性면에서 「九雲夢」과 「春香傳」의 중간적 위치를 차지하는 作品으로 볼 수 있다. 본 연구를 바탕으로 하여 기생-양반의 愛情을 다룬 小說의 변모양상과 近代小說과의 연결관계를 논의함으로써 作品에 대한 연구가 보다 심화될 수 있을 것으로 본다.;This thesis is a research for synthetic study about literary character of Godae Sosoˇl (古代小說) Yurokjun. When individual character and typical character as a work itself is studied in parallel, a literary work is possible to complete understanding. As a result of study on individual character which is based on this point, Yurokjun is as follows. Yurokjun with King Incho of Yi-dynasty for setting is Aejoˇng Sosol which has subject matter for transcendental love between Kisaeng(妓生) and Yangban(兩班). In character of material, this work is created to novel which follows tradition of Aejoˇngdam(愛情談) in the late Yi-dynasty through Godae Sosoˇl. In the aspect of constitution, this work is followed by biographical type which deals with a generation of the chief character, but the process of birth is omitted and it is characteristic to present worldly life. The main organization of this work is dealt with obstacle of marriage ceremony which is centered on meeting, parting(suffering), reunion. In this work, the chief character values in achievement of love, and as they overcome difficulties, they realize complete union. As look about character, it is revealed that the chief character attaches importance to love, and they are intent character about daily life. As this background of suffering is established by war, individual opposer is not appeared in this sosoˇl and the relationship of circumstance character is dealt simply. The theme of Yurokjun is self-sacrificing true love between man and woman. They overcome trouble factor by difference of social position and realize love in equal relation. As Yurokjun has similar of material with love story of social position conflict in the late Yi-dynasty including Chunhyangjun(春香傳) and in the respect, Yurokjun is dealt with love which is transcended social position of Kisaeng-Yangban, it is showed similar development process with Guunmong (九雲夢) in realization process of love, and Yurokjun can be dealt with theme which is self-sacrificing love between a man and a woman in the realization process of love, and taken middle point between Guunmong and Chunhangjun in the aspect of conscious characteristic. From the base of this study, as it is discussed aspect of transfiguration of novel which is dealt with Kisaeng-Yangban's love and connection of modern novel, this study of work can be more deeper.
